DRAGONMOUNT

A WHEEL OF TIME COMMUNITY

A small begining

Angelica

Recommended Posts

A wind blew east from the Ayrth Ocean toward Bandar Eban in Arad Doman. The wind was not a beginning, there are neither beginnings nor endings in the wheel of time, but it was a beginning. Eastward it blew through the streets of Bandar Eban, Tossing peoples hair that roam the street outside the Terhana Library and continues down the street to lift the hair of one particular woman's dark red hair from her face before traveling on to more important matters.

Angelica Rahjal, fixes her hair in reflex after the wind tossed it out of position as she keeps her green eyes on a single man who enters the Inn across the street. The 'The Lucky Saddle' was advertised by a wooden sign depicted by a Nude girl sitting upon a horse.

After a few moments Angelica slipped through the crowded streets and into the Inn with a smile as she scans the room for the man she follows. Davyn was one of the few remaining sons of the merchant family that caused her own families fall into poverty and lead to her parents demise. Over the last few years she has been returning the favor, Messing up there trade routes and when possible, killing them. her efforts have not been without noticeable results as they have progressively been under allot of financial burden. According to her contacts, Davyn is in Bandar Eban to talk with a major benefactor and if successful will bode well with their future. Unfortunately his contact was not at the place of meeting as he was 'indisposed' and cant really do much of anything while tied to a rope under the port docks.

Looking around she sees him at the bar, drinking an ale, prolly mulling over his failure to his family and what he going to say to his father upon his return. Angelica masks over her glee at finding him in such a miserable setting and takes a seat next to him, and smiles to the Innkeeper who walks in front of her.

"Welcome to the Lucky Saddle, Mistress...what can I do for you" He says while speaking through his mustache. Andrian Rafaela was a prosperous Innkeeper. The fat rolls of his belly could attest to that, but his Establishment cater to the more rough crowds in the evening. During the day it was usually quiet as it was now with only a couple other patrons that had grown a thirst during their meanderings dotted the many tables.

"A glass of mulled wine please, to take away my problems", Angelica replies putting on her own face of dower depression and slides a silver mark across the counter top. Andrian smiles with a gracious nod and go to pour a her glass. She takes this time to turn to her neighbor and gives him a forced looking smile,"You don't look like you have had a good day yourself, would you care for some company?" she says while reaching up and just touching his shoulder with a hint of wanting.

Davyn turns from his mug of ale and smiles back,"I'm not sure you would want my company right now, I'm really not in a good mood, I...Blood and ashes! I'm a ruined man, but you don't want to know how ruined...just leave me alone." he says with a look of loss on his face and turns back to his ale and takes another drink.

The Innkeeper returns with her wine and her change, but she shakes her head and gives the rest to the innkeeper for a tip. She takes a small sip from her glass and while looking forward, talks to Davyn from the corner of her vision,"I know what you mean, I lost a deal that would have fared well with my family...I'm such a disappointment..I'm not sure what I'm going to tell them"

Davyn looks up slowly and nods,"Same here...but I think I just made the last deal...my family will most likely crumble..." he shakes his head and looks to angelica,"My names Davyn whats yours?"

Angelica smiles and reaches her hand out to shake," Maen Ruthann, a pleasure..it seems we have a lot in common."She says as she brushes his cheek in a suggestive way.

Davyn backs away from the familiar touch and stands up, looking affronted and then chugs the last of his Ale,"I'm not sure what your trying to do...but I'm a married man go push your attentions on someone else tonight, good day, Mistress" he says with a flourish of his hand and then turns to head out of the door.

Angelica not liking the concept of failure tries to calm herself....she tried her hardest to get this far and she wasn't about to just let him walk away like this...No, you won't get away that easily...Turn around now and come back to me!....something on the edge of her awareness tingles her senses and in her panic that her target was walking away she touched it very briefly and did something she wasn't really conscious of.

..and then Davyn stopped and turned around, his eyes glassed over almost as if he was sleeping with his eyes open and walked back towards Angelica, "What would you have of me, Mistress?" he said but using her title a little more differently then before. he seemed content to do what ever she asked him to do.

Shaking herself from her thoughts and standing up she touches him on the check as before and smiles,"I want you to follow me" , She says testing her theory that something miraculous happened...that somehow she had enthralled him to her bidding. she turns around and heads out of the Inn. and looks casually over her shoulder to see if he does follow, and smiles even more as he turns and walks calmly behind her like a lost puppy. She leads him down several streets and into an Alley that was devoid of witnesses and then turns around barring a short thin bladed dagger and smiles.

Davyn, just stands there blank faced as if he doesn't see the dagger in Angelica's hand and smiles lovingly at her, "What would you have of me, Mistress? " he said in that same submissive tone, kneeling before her with pleading in his eyes.

Angelica smiles as she steps in close, "I would like you to die" , she says as she leans over and presses the dagger into his chest to Peirce his heart.

Davyn doesn't even scream, he just smiles as he slowly falls into his final rest,"Anything for yo..." he manages before falling on his side. and exhales his last breath.

It takes a bit before angelica stands up and wipes the dagger on his cloak and reaches down to cut his purse to make it look like a normal mugging. she was so much in shock with what happened she almost didn't even realize the weight of the purse. It must have contained most of the family's fortune, they must have been betting everything on this deal that went bad. She smiles as she slips the large pouch into her satchel and then walks away, after making sure there was no one around to see her leave. Did I touch the one power...could it be that I could be an Aes Sedai? I should go to the White tower...Imagine what I could do with that kind of power..The great Lord would be pleased...he would....No...The White Tower would be the last place I should be...They are very powerful, but what would they do if they found out I worshiped the The Great Lord...They would kill me, and they would find out..who knows what they are capable of..they could probably just look right at me and yell out, "You are a darkfriend!, Seize her!"...No...I can't go there...but I have such strong potential...I need to learn...but how?...

Angelica turns around and starts to head up a different way...to the Inn, that she said her oaths to the dark one for the first time...there she has Friends...who may know more on what she can do. The Inn, "The Sailors Den" was a simple establishment, high class for being a Dock Inn. the common patrons are Ship captains and other Trade merchants. a place where they could meet and strike there deals. but among Friends of the Dark, it is much more. She steps inside and flashes the hand signal for DF business and the Innkeeper nods towards on of the private rooms. she steps inside and looks around and takes a seat in the Empty room, pouring herself a glass of Wine while she waits for the Innkeeper to see to her. Ivan was the leader of her Darkfriend circle...if anyone would know what she can do...he would..

OOC: Not sure how you want me to jump in here so I'm winging it. Let me know if its not what you expected.

Cari had been asked to go to Bandar Eban to sell a horse to a nobleman there. He'd sent word by messanger with what he was looking for, and Nathan liking to be personable sent Cari with the merchandize. It was a long trip and Cari was happy to see Gretta again. They kissed said their hellos and Cari went off looking for friends of the Dark. Nathan had told her of an inn that was run by a man in the same service. She really didn't care for meeting with Darkfriends, but where there was servants of the Great Lord, Nathan liked to make connections and do a few deeds for the locals that couldn't be traced to them.

Cari may or may not get a job, but it would be worth looking, as Nathan would pay her for her efforts. The Sailor's Den was the name and Cari only remembered it's name long enough to find the establishment. It's location was more important than the name anyway. Cari flashed the Darkfriend sign and wondered where he was sending her.

The room was nearly empty, one woman with red hair sat in the room minding her own business, Cari was unsure of what she was going to do or say so she did nothing. Cari nodded to the woman and sat down and the serving girl asked if she wanted anything. Cari smiled, "A warm tea would be nice, and tell the proprieter that Nathan Rashad has sent me to ask if I can be of any assistance." With a nod the girl left and the two women there alone.

Cari wondered about the quality of the inn, she truly disliked gruttal places that smelled of the docks. He missed her home on the Ranch and her children. Her buyer was lucky that this horse had survived the recent tragedies, and Nathan was selling as much as he could to rebuild the herd. The tragedy brought back horrid memories for Cari. She hardly slept these past weeks since then, images of Sierra's head rolling on the ground, and Achet's body bursting from the inside haunted her memories. It was thankful she had many friends to help, and she truly cherished the fact that Kate and Aiden were okay. Sam was being a doll in the whole situation and Cari wondered what she should do about the man who was the father to her children. Cari let her self drift in her own thoughts not realizing she'd drawn her left dagger and was idly twirling it in her hand.

Angelica was sitting alone, for what seemed like hours. She wasn’t used to waiting this long. Perhaps Ivan was busier then she at first noticed or maybe he was just waiting for some more people to show up, who knows. He was never the one to let anyone know his plans ahead of time. So, angelica spent her time going through her latest victims’ purse to find out how much exactly was in it…she could use any amount if she was to find a teacher. She doubts whether there was any in Bandar Eban and she was expecting to travel some distance to reach her goal.

Counting out 12 Gold crowns, and 23 silver marks and ignoring the small change she smiles before ordering herself a Blackberry Tea to sit back and relax while she waits. She had just put her coins away and took her first sip of tea when the door to the room opens. She sits up expecting to find Ivan, but instead a woman that she has never seen with red-brown hair enters and nods to her. She nods back with a smile and looks to the door to see if anyone follows, but the door remains empty as it closes behind the stranger. She sighs and goes back to her tea. When the woman gave her instructions to the serving girl her ears prick up, none of the names strikes a bell but information is always good to gather, you never know when one slip may or may not garner advancement in the ranks.

She sits in quiet solitude for only a few more moments before Ivan finally appears in the door way, and asks for the serving girls to depart to leave them alone. “We are all Friends here, so relax…all of my staff here are friends as well, but I do like to keep gossip down to a minimum. I’ll see to both of you in the order that you have come to me, so Angelica, what brings you back to see me…I haven’t seen you in weeks."

“I’m sorry Leader,†she starts with a quick curtsy, “…I have been busy with personal business, I’ll try to check in more often...I hope that you haven’t had need of my services while I was away†she pauses long enough for Ivan to shake his head and ushers her to continue, “…But I had to ask you about something…something happened today…Ummm...I’m not sure how to explain it…But I think I touched the source…†she relays the circumstances around Davyn’s demise and finishes with “…So you see, I can be if much use for Our Great lord, but I need someone to who can Teach me…What can I do Leader, If anyone knows it would be you.â€

Ivan frowns slightly as she relays her story, he never did trust the One Power, but he does understand the usefulness if done under the Great Lords service,†I believe you must go to Shayol Ghul and seek a teacher there, that was the instructions handed to me, incase one of my friends shows the spark, but You shouldn’t go there alone. In three months I can arrange transport with a few fleshly offerings and a guide…but I’m afraid I cant do moreâ€

Angelica frowns, she was so eager to get started and to hear that she will have to wait longer sickens her stomach…she opens her moths to demand to leave sooner…but then closes it with effort and nods reluctantly, “You are the leader and I’ll obey†She then sits down to finish her tea and pretends to ignore them as he turns to the stranger.

“My name is Ivan, welcome my Inn. I hear you wish to do a service while in your stay here, But I’m afraid I have nothing for you at the moment, so tell me…How is Nathan these days? I haven’t even heard his name in years.â€

OOC: Sorry it's a bit delayed forgot to check the West board lol.

Cari listened to the woman speak, she heard her name mentioned but it hardly mattered. But the one power did matter, Cari was one of the few people who hated the one power from where she came from as a profession. It was one thing to protect an Aes Sedai but to be on the receiving end of the One Power Cari shivered. She truley dispised the unfair advantage.

When Ivan turned to her with no work Cari only nodded. But asking after Nathan was something unusual. "Nathan is well, the ranch was devistated and his merchandise today was lucky to make it. We were all lucky to make it." Cari sighed at the loss of money and the loss of friends that the fog had taken, but it was neither here or there it was time to rebuild.

As things came to Cari, she realized that Nalia could teach the woman and keep her away from herself. "I do have an offer. Your new channeler here has a teacher. The Blight is no place for people to go who are not accostomed to the atmosphere. Nathan has come into some Power. Mistress Nalia would be able to teach this one. If you desired, but she'd have to find cover on the ranch and work as well. Ranch hands are always needed, but if her hands are too soft then I'm sure Mistress Sara can find her some work to do."

((OOC: Not a problem, I don’t always have time to check the boards everyday, myself. If your patient with me, I’ll be patient with you))

Ivan barely recovers his growing smile and puts on a face of sincere condolences. He never did like Nathan having been more successful then himself, having a whole village of darkfriends, practically where he himself only gathered a mere hovel of an Inn, but maybe things are looking up, with luck maybe Nathan will meet his downfall. “I’m very sorry to hear about his losses and yours as well...I wish there was something I could do…†He stops to hear the rest of Cari’s offer and frowns. He wasn’t expecting to help him at all, really. To hear that Nathan had come a crossed a trained wielder of the One Power was very unsettling, the Idea of handing him another was unthinkable. “I’m afraid I have some more uses for Angelica here, to send her off so quickly as that…â€

“What do you mean you have more uses for me, Ivan...†she interrupts with only a little acid to her tongue. “...You haven’t really sent me off on anything substantial in months, you little worm and I’m not waiting around for months again, for you to send me off to Shayol Ghul , If she can take me to someone who can teach me…then you must let me go…or I will make you wish you did…†she finishes her tyrant with a flourish of a dagger in her hand before it slips back up her sleeve just as quickly, staring into his eyes as if to put more weight to her threat.

Ivan covers his grimace while knuckling his mustache as he mulls over the implications. If Angelica was trained in the Power either at the Ranch or Shayol Ghul, she would be able to tear him into shreds without even blinking…he would much better have her on his side, then against…then again…in order to do that he would have to concede and let her go to Nathan…or deny her demands, and just have her killed…but that would go against his orders from Shayol Ghul and to his point of view, The Great Lord himself. He shivers at the thought and stands up and walks towards the girl, “Take her to this Nalia, I don’t want to see this wrench again!†and then leaves the room.

Angelica stares at the mans back as he leaves, as if she has never seen a species quite like him, then again most males confuse her to no end. She was fully expecting him to berate her for her outburst and cut her throat right then and there. In fact for a second there she thought that was exactly what was going through his mind. She shakes herself into a semblance of calm and turns to look at the stranger,â€Ummm, thank you Mistress….?â€

OOC: no problem hehe.

Cari frowned. "My name is Cari." She didn't like titles and Mistress least of all. Cari tried to be friendly but Ivan's attitude left a sour taste in her mouth. "I will send word with a fast rider to Miss Nalia to prepare for a student and inform Nathan that he's a student coming in from Ivan, even though Ivan didn't want to send you." Cari smiled, there was always a rivalry between the leaders of circles of Darkfriends, Nathan had always been powerful, but then again so was Nalia, both working directly for a Chosen or in the name of a chosen anyway. And in a way Cari worked from the same as well. But Cari never asked which chosen they worked for, she hardly cared as long as Carmen never set food on the Ranch Cari would be happy.

"I'm staying at another inn. I will meet you here at dawn to leave for the Ranch. I have other business to attend to now." With out so much as an acknowledgement Cari got up and left the room. Her first stop was the fast rider and then back to see Gretta.

OOC: you can have them meet up at dawn and start traveling. It's up to you how long you want this to take, I can always slip in a few things along the way to draw out the travel time.

Angelica watched Cari leave without so much of a goodbye and frowned after her. She didn’t seem to be much of the talkative type. The trip to this, ‘Ranch’ didn’t sound like much of a fun trip, and what of this cover that she was supposed to contrive? Do they really expect her to work as a Drudgery maid or a Muck girl? Well she does have some experiences with horses; she could work as a Horse handler…as long as someone else did the mucking.

After a bit, a smile creeps into her mood as the reality, that she will learn to wield the One Power comes back into her thoughts. She would muck the stalls and even live with a quiet trip to the ranch to be able to do such…though she hated to admit it. She will still try to keep some of her pride. But, just to be able to hold that power just one more time….or more, as things seem to be heading. She laughs lightly as she sees a great future…maybe The Great Lord will see that she stands high once again, rather then on the teeter of ruin and poverty. Gold, riches, palaces….even a large manor house would be much better then what she has now. A rundown merchant house with no servants. She had to get rid of those to conserve what little remained of her family’s fortune. And only a Razor Mare remained to constantly remind her exactly how far she had fallen, but she dare not get rid of it. Her horse was her only surviving link of her family’s wealth. The house doesn’t really count...as it only resembles a large shack nowadays, with no body to keep it up.

With a final sigh, she drains the last of her tea and leaves the Inn. She had her own things to take care of before departing the next day. Travel, learning to wield the One Power, Gaining power over others…the future seems so wonderful…if she didn’t already say her vows to the Great Lord she would have thanked the light for her fortune…but even chaos can be generous at times.

*************************************************

Sitting on her Razor, Gai`dore, she rides out of Bandar Eban following the woman who would take her to someone who can teach her, wondering about her future. Cari, so far has shown to be as talkative as she seemed…as in not very talkative at all…but maybe she is just waiting to escape the bustle and activity of the streets….maybe.

(ooc: oops forgot to reply.)

Cari didn't sleep well that night, even Gretta's urgings for a hot tea that would help her sleep didn't do much good. Cari disliked channeleners and to have to spend an amount of time with one was not her idea of plesant company, particularly an untrained one.

But Cari decided to make the best of the trip and visit Mykal on the way back. She wasn't sure if he'd be pleased to see her or not, but she really didn't care. It was on the way home anyway.

Cari woke early and practiced with her sword in her inn room. The movements were limited but it got rid of alot of the anger she'd posses through out this trip.

Cari met Angelica at the inn they'd met and and kept quiet through out the trip out of the city. When they were several miles away Cari spoke. "Nathan's very particular that friends work for their room and board. You will have to work if you intend to stay. And we all chip in with the cleaning of stables on the day we get off. And the pay is well. Unless you've got a handy skill with house work or prefer that type Mistress Sara is always needing a helping hand outside of the kitchen."

Cari let the woman know a few particulars about the ranch and that yes it was a haven for darkfriends, but there were light fools among them. Cari insured she understood her identity couldn't be revealed escept in other friends presence.

(OOC: I suppose we could fast forward the travel time after a post or two… not in too much of a hurry, nor do I think we should draw the blood dry any more then we have to…hehe)

Angelica was so intent in her own quiet thoughts that she jumped when Cari finally spoke, “Well, I’m very good with Horses, but I can’t say I’d be very pleased to actually clean out the stalls…however, I’ll do it anyways if it means learning how to control…um, my giftâ€. She pauses in thought of what things may be possible with that type of power. Kings kneeling to her, subjects obediently doing as their told, even if they don’t want to do it. If what she did yesterday could be repeated that is.

Angelica tried to listen as Cari explains the particulars about the ranch, she thinks she got the gist of it. She would have to hide her loyalties. Not that was any different than anywhere else. One wrong slip and she would be dead; she knows when to keep her mouth shut. Hearing that there is Lightfools on the ranch makes her smile though. To them she is just a harlot Domoni seductress, loving and full of grace. They are fun to play with…and fun to corrupt.

“I’m sure I can keep my secrets when it’s needed, however…how do I go about my training? Tell me about Nalia, is she a hard person to get to know…or easy going?†Somehow she envisions a woman who dwells in pain and morbidity, like a lot of devout ‘friends’ she knows…one too much like herself when under the right circumstances…oh yes the power would make those circumstances more common. It would be of no surprise really if her future teacher would be as uncaring, Angelica would probably be the same if their roles were reversed. The Great Lord doesn’t reward the kind hearted, but those who follow his wishes without question... even if that meant burying your emotions and getting your hands bloody.

Cari didn't know much about Nalia she generally avoided the woman. The One Power was something Cari had truly become to dislike. You could thank Carmen for that.

"I really can't tell you much. We work together, we aren't friends. She works the ranch like any other except has an advantage over us and she doesn't hide the fact that she can channel either."

What Cari did know of Nalia was she could be violent. Could be mean with the one power and that pure fact alone made Cari avoid her like the plague. She was sure she was nice enough, but Mistress Nalia was a Dreadlord and Cari was a mere pawn to be played with to her. Non-channelers were lower in her eyes and Cari hated that, with out the One Power Nalia would be dead now. Killed for her own arrogance. Her or Glen would suffer in the Pit of Doom forever if they could get there hands around that scrawny little neck.

Cari signed. "I can't really tell you want to expect of her, we don't talk."

They rode the rest of the way in silence. Cari tried to stop at a town even though she would much rather keep moving when the light was still out. They were a long way from home, and she missed the children.

****

A small town came into view and Cari was happy to see it, despite the fact that it was two weeks to Tar Valon. Cari had stopped here to rest after she'd left. They stayed in the same inn and no one recognized her. Cari took a room and then found Angelica. "I have things to attend I will be back later tonight. We leave at dawn."

((OOC: Sorry for the long delay, been a busy week))

Angelica was sitting down at a corner table, having not gotten her room as of yet, but will after little bit longer. As Cari comes back down and says that she was leaving, Angelica just nods and waves her hand dismissively. Cari hasn’t spoken much at all during this trip so why should angelica even bother replying. As Cari leaves the room, Angelica wonders what she is up to, but dismisses her curiosity for the time being, the last thing she wants is to anger her guide by following her now and then if she got caught, Cari may refuse to take her further or maybe just kill her. With out training in the One Power, she has only her own dagger to defend herself. She may be good with her dagger, but Cari seems like she might be better, so better not to tempt fate too much.

After a few moments she stands up and gets her own room from the Innkeeper, unloads her stuff and then goes about town herself. The streets were dotted with random people, farmers coming in from the fields and other travelers on the road. Angelica ignores everyone as she locates what she is looking for. A tavern loud and boisterous and filled with reveling merchants, but more importantly a gambling table, with large silver marks being passed crossed the table. Much better then coppers in less to do places, this is a place where she can make some real money, albeit not in the same manner the other gamblers make (or lose) money.

Swaying herself to the gambling table she starts with simple Domoni flirts, a bat of the eyelashes to one person and then a gentle touch on the shoulder of another as she makes her way around the table, until she has a clear idea of who was actually winning. Being exotically beautiful that she is, it didn’t take long for the men at the table to notice that she was putting more attention to the one who had the winning pile. So they bolstered their bets a little higher in hopes of gaining her affections. This was such a simple game she liked to play, some men don’t like woman that are to forward towards wealth, but most men don’t care, especially if it could mean a night of wanton lust with Angelica. She would increase her advances depending on the size of a persons winnings. After an hour they started passing gold marks but soon after when the stakes got too high, people started to leave. An hour later found angelica in a room with a very lucky merchant.

It wasn’t until a long time after, that the sounds of merrymaking finally faded from that room. The moon was still up as angelica pulled back the mans head from between her breasts and lets it fall to the pillow with a dead mans thump. Smiling she slides out of the bed and gets dressed, adding one heavy pouch to her belt. She closes the mans eyes and adjusts his face to look as if he was sleeping peacefully. She had heard him tell the Innkeeper to let him sleep in, so he will not be discovered until she has already left town by several hours. In passing during the gambling den she had made several references (apparently in slip) about heading back home to Bandar Eban, so if they interrogate enough they will be looking in the wrong direction. This has been a most profitable night. The tavern was empty as she snuck out of the Inn un-noticed and headed back to her Inn and after cleaning herself up slides into bed and sleep for a couple hours.

By dawn she is up, bathed and ready with her stuff. Her eyes are a bit puffy from lack of sleep, but she smiles pleasantly enough as she meets up with Cari. As they ride their horses out of town, angelica keeps her hood well up and tries not to look at anyone so as to not give her description away. Not until late afternoon, far down the road does she let her Hood fall back

Cari paid a visit to Mykal. He was busy with a customer and the hopes of receiving more of his artwork was shot out at the complexity of the artwork before him. She smiled and they banter back and forth and he never brought up her abrupt departure after she had seduced him. But he also thrawted all advances Cari threw forward. No matter, it was good to see an old friend. A man who she had no ties to, and would be leaving in the morning.

****

Morning dawned and Cari readied Tain Cor, he was eager to be home as well. His favorite mare was expecting and he seemed almost eager, like any expecting father. Of course this was his fare. He studded for the ranch and he lived their free of cost. He was a pampered guest. Good genes, good breeding, and a warhorse, even though he was getting too old to be considered one now. Cari and Tain Cor had been through a lot together, and she would hate the day he moved on to green pastures. She was sure her moving on would not be so pleasant and she held Tain Cor's destiny in her heart, the only hope she had left.

Angelica made Cari raise an eye brow, weary from lack of sleep and her hood up. The woman had been up to something, but as long as they didn't get stopped and Cari said to be involved all was well. She wouldn't save this woman as she had saved Demus. The One Power was her undoing, and Cari would have nothing to do with the stench of it. Coming from an ex-warder, that would sound weird, but Cari played it off as a distrust of things she didn't understand. She understood it well enough to know it was a clear advantage and she hated not having the upper hand.

****

The remainder of the ride was uneventful, they skirtted wide of Tar Valon despite Angelica's protests that it was quicker to go through the shining walls. Cari didn't let down and they went around. If Angelica wanted to go through she'd just have to wait on the other side, and Cari told her as much.

But the city of Cairhein came into view. They would stay here then move on to the city. Cari had other business to attend. She still hadn't found the man she was looking for. A check on his residence was in order before Nathan got too antsy about it. It was unlike her to not have found her mark yet. It was not something she was proud of, and it was starting to get out of hand, more action would be needed.

Cari took her normal inn in Cairhein and left Angelica to her own devices before setting out to stake out the man's house. Still only the daughter coming and going. Perhaps that was the key...

Cari returned to her room just before the bells tolled midnight and slept, to wake in the morning to return home, and see her children.

OOC: Fairhaven and the Ranch are a days ride from Cairhein. You can take us there or not, sup to you.

Cari
