I started reading these over the summer. I spend a ton of my free time writing, and a fellow amateur writer suggested these books. he knew that i loved fantasy/science fiction and said that these were great. I got the Eye of the World right away, and loved it. Oddly enough, i didn't progress immediately afterwards. I'd enjoyed the book, but i just never got around to picking up book 2. Then, when i finally did, i was hooked once and for all. I'm currently on Fires of Heaven and i've been reading them faster than one a week. They're amazing, easily the greatest (and grandest) thing i've ever read.

On the whole, i can only think of one thing that i dislike about this series - it's everything i ever wanted to accomplish. Since i started writing i've always wanted to write something that was incredibly vast in scale, that centered on wars, magic, prophecies, the whole array of fantasy stuff. only, that's right here. Robert Jordan stole my idea before i was born Angry Then again, i can't exactly be mad at him. the reason i always wanted to write epic fantasy was that i loved the stuff, and, even if never manage to surpass this, it's damn amazing to read.
