Rand & the TP

Is it possible that Rand can / may be able to tap the True Power through his link to Moridin / Ishamael?

 

I think it's well documented that there is a link (of some kind) between the two.

 

I believe Mierin / Lanfear tapped & used the TP at the end of the AOL when she bored into the DO's prison.  Makes me think that it's at least possible for someone only accustomed to the OP to use and weave the TP.

 

Maybe by using the TP, and both sides of the OP, he'll be able to create a more thorough seal and or defeat the DO?  Fight fire with fire?  Of course, to do that he'd have to be linked with a woman.  We know Nynaeve doesn't want to do that again but we do know Alivia - stongest of all women, (who we know via Min must "help him die") still has a has a role to play. 

 

Just some questions/speculations/thoughts as I've been re-reading KOD's.

Rand can not use TP, that requires the DOs direct permission.

 

Mierin did not use TP to make the Bore, since without the Bore, it would not have been possible to tap into it in the first place.

Not sure you can consider Rand as any ordinary channeller though.  The DO's been trying to win him over / convert him (or the Creator's champion) at each turning.  The Forsaken have all been told to stay away from him, etc, etc.

No, drawing the True Power requires the Dark One's active permission at all times. Rand does not have that, he cannot channel the True Power.

No, she had detected a power source, and was drilling through the bore to tap into it. She never actually tapped it though, the second the bore had been drilled the backlash shattered the Sharom.
