Is there a post somewhere describing what each is, and is there a limit to the number that we can join?

No, there is no such post, but I can give you a run-down!

 

There is not limit to how many orgs you can join. Once upon a time, there was, but not anymore. However, I advise you to start with 1-3 Orgs and gradually increase. Get used to one or two first before moving on.

 

The Aiel are a grand ole group. They do not have a particular purpose, but they love discussions about whatever there is. Lots of great fun!

 

The Band of the Red Hand is the music and travel Org. Like music? Like to travel? The band is the best place for you! Voted Best org in the Empy awards, they are one of the biggest Orgs and have all sorts of things going on.

 

The Black Tower is a power-spamming board. However, they do have a very in-depth rank system with a game to accompany it.

 

The Illuminators are very diverse. There are 3 Chapter Houses, each with a purpose. The Artists chapter house deals with artists and sig making and stuff like that. The crafters chapter house does crafts, baking, quilting, and other crafting things. The scribes chapter house is home of the writers.

 

The Kin are a happy group of folk who love exchanges! They exchange seeds, postcards, regular cards, you name it, they exchange it!

 

The Ogier are a grand lot! There are Steddings for Speakers, Builders, and Brewers. Whatever strikes your fancy! Lots of good times there!

 

As it says, the Seanchan are the entertainment org. If you watch a lot of TV or movies or play lots of games, you will certainly fit in there.

 

Shayol Ghul is the evil Org. Theyt are also very good spammers.

 

The White tower is just the White tower. Be an Aes Sedai or Warder, join a group, have fun!

 

Wolfkin is the nature org. Lots of nature talks, nature info, nature pics, but also lots of chili, TQ, cheerleaders, and dunking!

Already joined the illuminators. Eyeballing the wolfkin. Some of those others look like they'd be fun too!

The New Members board is a good place to get further information about Orgs and other aspects of DM.

 

That said, I am locking this thread now, because this is really not the right place for it.
