Duration of Tarmon Gaidon

This is a 100% hypothetical thread.

How long would TG last? The War of the Shadow lasted over 40 yrs I believe. But most people are expecting the Last Battle to be over in a matter of days (at least that is what I have gathered from this forum). That seems sensible-but will it be so? How quickly may Rand act after the first strikes from Shayol Ghul?

I don't think it will exceed more than 2 months at the most.

Not only how long, but what will the body count be?

Huge Borderland army in Andor.  Lan raising another in Malkier.  Byrne's army.  Seanchan.  Mat's army.  Perrin's army.  Assorted Aiel.  Various king's and queen's armies.  Ogier's?  Shadowspawn...

The ground will be fertile at the end.

Tarmon Gai'don began the moment Rand plunged Tam al'Thor's sword into the first Trolloc chest in Eye of the World.

But as for the Last Battle the way people around here (and in the books) interpret it, I doubt it will take too long. Everything has been set up to happen on every front almost simultaneously, so the battle will be fought everywhere at once, while Rand himself and his core group of elite channelers go to Shayol Ghul to deal with the big boss. At best it will take a few days. That's my estimate, anyway. If we were in for a drawn-out global struggle, it would take more than one book to present it adequately.
