I was just wandering what everyone thinks of Perrin's secretary. The one who used to work for the white cloaks (cant remember his name and don't have any of the books at hand. Do you guys think he is a good guy? A guy who will stand by errin? or a guy who has his own motives? or what?

Balwer.  I think he will stand by Perrin long enough to exact revenge on the white cloaks.  After that, he seems like a loyal guy.  But Perrin was so one-minded about rescuing Faile no matter what else was going on in the world - to the point of being a spoiled littel kindergartner.  That I don't know if my loyalty would hold.  Some things do matter more than saving your spouse - despite all the 'nothing else matters.'

I think it would be out of character for Balwer to remian loyal to someone so blind to realitites in the world.

His name is Balwer and i think he is above and beyond one of the more interesting side characters in the series

We first see him working for Niall and the white cloaks only too find out he's the intelligence master of the whole damn place! to him eventually freeing Morgase and working for Perrin.

He's an intelligent man whose has found a way to use Fail's conglomerate of idiots (the cair who think they are Aiel) to tactfully gain information. Let alone he is now working for Perrin.

Mat may be the ultimate General, but in my mind Perrin is being set up to be the ultimate ruler

ya i quite agree. I don't thik Perrin was completely blinded byreality as he took care at staying behind and not going in the water pipe to make sure everything worked. He was kind of like Brigitte, and arrow pointing at its target. I think Balwer (thanks) will stic by Perrin as well. But then again who knowsas we havent actually had a chapter from his view about what he feels towards Perrin

Balwar is the consummate spy master. He is not a fanatic like most whitecloaks nor is he a deeply passionate man. He has a score to settle with some of the Whiteclocks (remember Galad already killed the guy who through him out) but will not let his hatred for them get in his way.  All he wants its to be allowed to do his job, as Perrin will likely have great need of a spymaster in the future I see Balwar staying in his employ.

And I agree he is a marvelous character.
