Thank you very much for that!

You needn't worry about taking The Complete Works of Shakespeare as you already have it - read my post! Though maybe you can use it to feed the fire!

Now, all you need to do is pick the next willing interviewee!

Alrighty, welcome Raijin, to the Band of the Red Hand! I can't remember if you've ever been here before, but anywho, let's begin shall we?

Question One: When and how did you find the Wheel of Time series, and what led you to Dragonmount?

Since Raijin has been a bit busy, I've decided to contact Raena, current head of the Brown Ajah.

So, Raena, first question, when and where did you first find the Wheel of Time and what led you to Dragonmount?

When I was 10 or so, my mom took me to the library at the beginning of the summer break and put Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings in my hands and told me to read it. That's how I got hooked on the fantasy genre. I went through all the books by Eddings and then went through the rest of the fantasy section at the library. I had seen the Wheel of Time books there but for some reason I didn't start reading them. Meanwhile, my dad had also gotten hooked on fantasy and he started reading WoT before I did. He recommended them to me and I devoured all the books that were published in Swedish. My dad went on to reading them in English, but that was too much of a challenge for me (I was about 12 years old, and Swedish is my first language, not English).

So for a while I was stuck waiting for the books to be translated into Swedish, and my dad was stuck waiting for them to be published in English. Then Winter's Heart came out and I think that was the first one I read in English. Then I just had to wait for them to be published in English...

I found Dragonmount through my dad as well. I guess he'd been looking up WoT on the Internet and found DM and he mentioned it to me. I looked around a bit but I quickly forgot about it. And then I almost gave up on WoT when I couldn't get through Crossroads of Twilight. I almost forgot about the series until late 2005, when Knife of Dreams was published. Again, my dad had bought it and I decided to do a re-read of the series. So I did, and then after reading Knife of Dreams I remembered Dragonmount, and looked it up because I wanted to read theories and discussions about the books. I got tired of that rather quickly, but found the rest of DM interesting. I lurked for a long time before I finally decided to sign up on May 17, 2006. So my 5 year DMversary is coming up soon.

That would be very rough to read the Wheel of Time in your second language! I know I have attempted to read one of the books in Spanish, and it definitely tried my patience, partly because I've forgotten half of the series and secondly because I really honestly don't actually know which book in the series I bought in Spanish  Like you, I also found the books through my dad, but I found DM through a friend. And how exciting, a soon to be 5 year anniversary! I'm not much older than you in DM years as my 6 year DMversary will be on October something 2004 (oh that makes it 7 doesn't it?)

Alrighty, now for your first piece of music. Please post it, with a link, and tell me why you have chosen it!

I don't know if I understood half of what I read the first time I read a WoT book in English. My vocabulary expanded a lot thanks to the books.

And sorry for taking so long to respond. I'm having trouble picking music.

My first piece of music is the

, by the Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo. This is a piece of music I never get tired of. I think it's very beautiful, and very sad. I listened to it a lot as a teenager, whenever I was feeling sad or angry just wanted to relax. I don't know what else to say, really. That I never get tired of it says a lot, since I usually get tired of my music after a while.

Reading books in a foreign language is an excellent way to build vocabulary, it's one of the ways I've built mine in Spanish!

And, having heard part of this concierto in the bands most recent It's a Knockout competition, I was pleased to hear that it was much more soothing in orchestral form than it was in concert band form! I, personally, am a great fan of classical music, especially since I was a piano player for a good 14 years. Technically I still can play but I'm quite rusty at this point!

So, now for your second question! With your five year anniversary coming up, do you find yourself shocked and amazed that you are still hanging around? Also, I know you are currently heading up the Brown Ajah in the White Tower social org, are you in any other organizations and if not, have you thought about joining any other organizations?
