A Problem With Words (Attn Vera - Repost)

Lavinya shuffled the pile of notes on her desk. She was changing the class structure for one of her students, and was now coordinating the notes she had made. They all needed to be rewritten, and Lavinya dreaded the task. She hadn't even begun yet, and already an ache was beginning to tighten at her temples. Not to mention the ink stains. Ugh, so undignified. While cleaning them was easy with the one power, Lavinya hated the idea of blemishing her perfect appearance at all.

With a sigh, Lavinya checked the order of her papers once more, and moved the inkwell on her desk. She was procrastinating, and well she knew it. She did have a fine hand, it just seemed such a trivial task, something far beneath her importance. She should not have to copy it herself, was more the point. She clicked her fingers as she had an epiphany, surprised she hadn't thought of it earlier. She used novices and accepted's often enough to do her chores, why not have one do the copying for her? Perfect.

Lavinya rose from her desk, smoothing her emerald green skirts, slashed with silver. She glided from the room with the swishing of silk, and through the twisting corridors of the White Tower. Long familiarity guided her steps, as she headed towards the novice dining hall. Most of the girls would most likely be breaking their fast by now, if not already taken with chores or classes. She doubted many would be in their rooms.

A din greeted her as she entered the hall, though it became muted as the girls noted a sister in the room, those nearest to her dropping curtsies as they scurried past. Lavinya cast a cold eye about the room. She was becoming quite notorious as an Aes Sedai who did not give novices an easy time at their chores, though it had been some time since she had come in hunt of one. Her lips quirked slightly in amusement as the girls tried to avoid her gaze. An Aes Sedai in the novice dining hall did not bode well for novices, reputation or no.

One girl caught Lavinya's gaze, as she curtsied and made to step past. She did not have the haste of a girl with a chore or a class to go to. Lavinya whirled to face her. "You child, I have need of your assistance." She waited for the young woman in white to stop. "Your name?" She nodded at the answer, the name vaguely familiar, though she did not recognise her from any classes she had taught. "I am Lavinya Sedai, and I have need of you, unless you have other urgent priorities?" She raised a brow. "No? Good, follow me child." With that, Lavinya turned on her heel, skirts swishing about her legs softly as she strode from the room, leading Vera towards her apartments, in the Grey Ajah quarters.
