The Aiel would be completely useless damane then since they are taught to fight with hands and feet. I fist can be a deadly weapon if used with the proper training with which the Aiel have.

Damane are almost never in a position to fight physically... some damane even have their hands and tongues removed.

And a damane's original personality is fairly irrelevant after they are broken. What makes the Aiel unique is their sense of honour and their strength of personality, both of which become naught and void if they are broken.

I know Therava wasn't caught.  Just using her as an example of the type to break.  And she would never be able to knife hand the sul'dam in the throat.  That would require thinking of her hand as a weapon, and then the a'dam clamps down.  She wouldn't be able to use that hand again until she convinced herself it could never be used as a weapon.  Just like happened with Egwene and the wash basin.  The sul'dam would probably force her to use that hand for all her eating until she learned her lesson. Egwene only got away with the punch because it wasn't contemplating serious harm.

I disagree, "Balling her fist tightly, Egwene hit the woman has hard as she could, right in the eye...That woman was rubbing her cheek as she squatted beside Egwene; there was a bruise already coming up around her left eye."p497TGH

When you hit someone like that, you are by definition contemplating serious harm.
