Name: Everett Baccaran

Age: 48

Other Info: This character will either be dead or VERY old by the main time line. He is currently set at 920 when he is the age listed above.

Description: Everett is every bit the picture of youth. Or at least he would be if you exchanged his peppered gray hair, thick caterpillar eyebrows and slightly overabundant laugh lines for a well kept mop of black hair, bushy, intelligent eyebrows and a smoother face. Something once offered him by a Dreadlady who had found herself quite taken with him. Everett, of course, would have none of it. His exact response to her was: "My dear, I'm afraid if you were to take away my age, I would loose many of the experiences that have brought me this far. And I don't seem to recall your loins complaining about my age earlier. Now stop being silly, Child and fetch me that toolbox. Thank you."

Mobility: "What do you mean you're 'tired and need a break'?! You still have legs, don't you boy?! Well get up and use 'em! Don't tell me you're going to let an old geezer like me out walk you?!"

Character History: There is little that Everett hasn't done. Having mastered the pursuit of Archery, and by association, hunting at a very early age, he turned to market. He rapidly accumulated a great deal of wealth through the cheap, efficient import/export of major products to foreign lands (such as the ice peppers of Saldaea). How he managed to not only monopolize the trade industry of every major territory, but to have shipments arrive at their destination in under half the time it would take any other transporter are closely kept business secrets, though rumors do abound. Nearly every possible theory has been given, from use of Portal stones or The Ways, to the use of Ter'Angreal or the lost art of Traveling. However, no one has ever been able to crack the mystery behind his business success, and it is a secret he will carry to his grave. Despite the rampant growth of his business, he soon grew bored of the life, and left the business to a smart young man he met randomly on a street corner (The lad had tried to pick his pocket).

And so it was that, at the age of 28, Everett decided to turn to more academic pursuits. This, of course, meant many steamy nights in the back rooms of great libraries with the librarian's daughters (and sometimes the librarians too). Eventually he did get serious and began reading everything he could get his hands on. He traveled from the Spine of the world to the Western sea, reading every book of philosophy and natural history he could get his hands upon. From city to city he would travel, gaining access to the libraries and their vast tomes of knowledge, devouring page after page of mathematical theorem, scientific discovery, long forgotten secret after long forgotten secret.

Twelve years passed rapidly in this fashion, and still Everett could not get his fill. Before he knew it, his Forties were upon him, Deciding that he needed a more stable place to further his research (it was becoming cumbersome for him to keep his own personal library on the road with him, not too mention the massive conglomeration of loose leaf paper bound between leather covers which contained all of his own personal theories and postulations). Someplace with a laboratory and cute female assistants. Yes! That was exactly what he needed to further his own scientific pursuits! And he knew of just the place!

And so he made his way to Cairhien. He had visited the esteemed library many times in the past, and had even been granted a private tour of the Academy there, so the trip was nothing new to him. However this time, he intended to join. And Join he did.

The next eight years brought him a plethora fresh experiences, from an illicit affair with the afore mentioned Dreadlady, to numerous failed experiments, and the odd successful one. Both of his lab assistants exceeded his every expectation, and were amply rewarded for their good work. Now he presses on in the pursuit of furthering the understanding of the natural world, as well as the supernatural one that seems to surround it. His next great goal was to tackle the way the One Power interacted with everyday materials.
