I'm willing to vote for [glow=red,2,300]Barm[/glow]. As I said before, I think it is between Barm and the Minister.

Metagaming = bad.  ;D

     Salt spray showers the boat as you peer ahead towards the city of Dez Leeera. The sky is dark as the storm builds, and it promises to be fierce. The seas are rough, and this more than anything lends itself to the amazing sight of an entire city rising and falling with the waves it rides upon.  One moment you are in a trough, staring up at what would appear to be a row of buildings sitting in the middle of the ocean. Then the seas carry you up as the first row of buildings drop and the city behind is revealed.  Oval floats measuring 140 feet from tip to tip are connected by giant rings to form this settlement. The architecture is like nothing you have seen, with domes built atop domes. The sun is low enough behind you to still cast light underneath the building storm clouds and the effect is amazing. As the Maiden’s Folly pulls close to the dock float, the waters suddenly calm and a bright blue light is very visible at the top of the centermost dome. The pleasing scent of incense wafts down to you and the Folly is guided into a slip. You look back to see the waters still rage behind you, but the city is now protected by a bubble. Sula explains what you are looking at in disbelief.

     “The priests here are among the most accomplished singers on Suras. They have created a force to shield us from the storm. The cities are designed to withstand most storms, and can disband to ride out what cannot be withstood as a whole.  But in the worst storms, the priests will do this.  It is mere chance that a storm this large has struck this early in the season. We are fortunate to have made it in before they had to raise the shield.”

     Thunder reverberates throughout the air and rain begins to lash the outer edge of the shield. The seas wash up on either side of the city and it is disconcerting to with the sea level rise above the city. The city remains still inside the shield, but on level with the water and you suddenly feel the pit of your stomach tighten as the entire city drops into a deep trough. A wall of water rises high over the city and crashes down over the top of the shield. You can’t help but duck, even though you are safe and dry. It will take a while to get used to this.

     You make your way of the ship and on to the docks. It is not long before a group from the city meets you.

     “Well met Minister!  We held the shields as soon as our lookout spotted the Maiden’s Folly on the horizon. You made it in the nick of time!” The man moves to embrace the Minister, smiling.

     “Well met Cristo, and we thank you for waiting. This is more of a storm than I would choose to weather aboard the Folly, I can tell you!”

      Cristo lowers his voice. “I’ve heard many rumors from the Neitaren’s. I trust all is well with the Hall?”

      “All is well Cristo. We have had some amount of trouble with them, but it is all resolved now.”

* BARMACRAL, THE CURSED ASSASSIN, IS DEAD.  THE CURSE IS BROKEN, THE HALL IS SAFE, & THE INNOCENTS HAVE WON. THE SURAS HUNT HAS ENDED. *

    - Epilogue -

    It is two weeks later to the day, and almost to the hour. The ceremony has been scheduled to begin at dusk. Every torch and every fire pit has been ablaze since the Minister's return, guiding every brother home from sea. The five Admirals, including the now senior Admiral, Ilgross, have taken their stations in the plaza and the drums signal the arrrival of the Minister. He comes to the dias to stand by Sula and together they represent the two halves that make the Hall one. Wreathes are presented by the Hall Guard, one for each pirate, sister, and outsider that lost their life in the struggle.  There are no words spoken at this ceremony. After all, what could be said to do justice to the events that have taken place? Instead, each wreathe will be carried by someone of importance to the departed. A procession is fromed and he wreathes are carried to the highest cliffs facing the open sea. One by one, the wreathes are released to the waters below. The memories of those who have fallen will be kept. The catain carries the last wreathe himself. Barm's wreathe. His face is stone as he tosses it over the side. No on has a view of his face, but if they did, they would see him mouthing the words "thank you" to the wind.

    After the ceremony, Far and Loki join the Minister and the Admirals for dinner. The back of their shoulders are sore where newly inked twisted dragons rest. They have each been presneted with 10,000 pieces of gold and an offer to make their home here on Sel Arren. But the choice is theirs, and they are welcome to stay at the Hall as long as they care to take making it, for there is no hurry. And there is plenty of rum...

Now, a huge thank you goes to Barm! He was instrumental is gettting this crazy game up and running and put more than his fair share of time into it! Thanks Barm! Another huge thanks goes to Alys, who was also very helpful with some key points. Ilgross is next, as he played the Admiral and kept up the role!  All three had to overcome the fact that these roles have not ever been played before and they were mostly left to their own devices to play them while following rules that changed almost as often as the scenes!  And, thanks to everyone who stuck with the game to see it through!  Wes ;D
