I was thinking about the American Revolution, where we called the English "Lobsters" due to their red-coats.  It was considered very offensive.  And yes, person above me, my computer is being a bitch with speed.

The person above me misuses words. Unless by "rancor" she meant the thing in Star Wars that is called so because George Lucas can't come up with his own words.
