Evil is defined as the quality of being morally bad or something that causes harm

or misfortune, or destruction. An example of an evil is discrimination.

 

The Path of Shadow

 

Formerly known as the Congress of the Shadow, the Path of Shadow consists of all beings sworn to the Dark One. From Darkfriend Innkeepers, Oath sworn Black Aes Sedai, creatures from Shayol Ghul, to the delicate hands of the Chosen. We see, hear, and touch all in hopes to snuff out the light and bring our Master into the world. 

 

From favors, to secrets, to betrayals and unusual Alliances, it is far easier to gain the ire of our kind then it is to find favor. Whatever your reason, or purpose, for following this path know that it is one that can not be turned back on. Once you are part of the Shadow, the Dark One is a jealous power and will not allow deviancy or slight. Punishment is readily given to those that try to betray their purpose. But so is reward, as power and rank over one another is greatly granted with one's success. Rewards that one could never attain following the Light.

 

Joining the Shadow

 

Much like how Robert Jordan wrote his villains and heroes, those that are part of the Shadow are not always necessarily evil per say. But often they have one single aspect that draws them to the Shadow above all else. Whether it is for political gain, self preservation or selfish reasons, or out of a need for unconventional methods to see something to completion, this driving aspect should be prevalent in a character's biography. That is, unless you are Shadowspawn, then you are simply born into it.
