this is really stupid but I can't find where the bit is to put in sigs in this new place - is it just cos I'm on mobile at the moment ?

Yes but you can set your mobile browser to desktop version, just click the three vertical dots that give you a menu for the browser and scroll down

 

There should be a box you can cross off for desktop site
