anyone know someone or have personal knowledge about webhosting. specifically wordpress and comiceasel?

I use dreamhost for hosting, and wordpress because I have hosting graphic space issues that they help a lot with. I have been very happy with them... >.> I also get a bonus for referrals. I've also seen people use asmallorange if you have small hosting needs.

yeah unfortunately our problem lies within wordpress, as comiceasel is essentially the only/most reccomended platform for hosting webcomics. and while wordpress has updated, comiceasel hasnt. and its wreaking havoc. almost every problem we've come across has been due to that issue. and comiceasel's support is horrible. 

 

i'm looking into another option, just have to convince my partner. and it'd be a lot of work

Ah, I see what you mean. Wordpress, as open code CMS, is full of quirks and issues - not to mention the security. 

 

So, Dreamhost is a hosting service. You can basically put anything on it hosting wise, which is nice. Plus it offers free https along with some other security features. If you find another CMS that works for you I do  suggest it as a host for those two things alone save you tons. 

 

I know less about comic easel, but you're almost best asking other comic artists what platforms they use. They are often willing to share something that they like to support if it isn't a hand-coded website.

yeah i've been asking around. this is just one place

 

what i'm looking at is a site that hosts webcomics. unlimited ones, its free, and we can use our own domain name. plus its completely customizable. it checks a lot of the list. but research, due diligence.....and convincing my partner

Yeah, the free part is tricky without there being ads and stuff. ? especially these days..
