My mother passed 4 years ago while undergoing the same self-transplant procedure as RJ, but for a different condition, non-Hotchkins lymphoma. I am pleased to hear that his story will continue, my heart, sympathy, and prayers go you, his friends, family, and fans. RJ has accomplished what most men seek and few find, he has left this world a brighter more wonderous place than it could ever have been without him. my final words to him are "Thank you." And yet they fail utterly to convey the depths of my gratitude, perhaps mere words cannot.

Great author, I will miss his books and his intelligent mind.

I will wait for the last book of the series Wheel of time, The memory of light as I expect going to be the portrait of his personality and excellent work in novel of sci fi literature.

The name of his last book of this series reflect the last glimpse of the great name Robert Jordan, but we will not forget the real light that I personally enjoy in the company of his books.

Great author, great books, great loss for us whom loved his great mind.

Wow, I only now just learned about his death. What a great tragedy for both his family and the world of fantasy literature. I pray that he lives on forever both in the afterlife and through his works.

Robert Jordan was one of those rare people that could tell a story and make it come alive his death is leaves a void in the world to be filled but never really will, the only good thing I can thnk of is that his work is left in the hands of someone who will be able to make the book what Jordan would of hoped it to be.

Robert Jordan, this message is a bit late, but you are one of the few people who is trully "taveran". You have taught every one who read your books so much, now it is time for those of us who have learned so much from you to go out and change the world with what you have taught us. Generally I do not post on blogs, but I would like to say that this post really forced me to do so, really useful information.

I first read The Eye of the World when I was 18 yrs old, borrowed a friend with whom I shared a barracks with during basic training. As this was in in the opening days of "Desert Shield" we were all training to go to war, reading this book gave myself and some of the others a place to "turn off" for a bit and relax.

Over the years I have read and re-read this series, many times; I have found that when I was going through unusually hard times in my life I would pick it back up for some reason. In fact, I just remarked to someone the other day that this story had lived with me my entire adult life and I was anticipating yet dreading its end at some later date.

I started the series up again last week and I just looked on the computer to see if I could find out what was taking the last book so long to come out, and it seems that Mr.Jordan has passed. This has struck me in a very real way and I felt I had to comment on the passing of a man whose stories have been so dear to my heart as I grew from a young man to an adult. I am deeply saddened, my very late condolences go to his family and may God rest his soul.
