Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

I would like to say, that Robert Jordan has touched my life in a very significant way. For years I have read The Wheel of Time series, and for years I have been so in depth with the books. I've ridden the emotional rollercoaster that each and everyone of Robert Jordan's characters have ridden. All of the thoughts and the feelings those characters had, became mine, and with each passing day I think about them. I would have never known a world between a world if it weren't for Robert Jordan. The things his writings taught me and the way they touched me, are all for the good. An experience I would never change even if not doing so would kill me. There are so many things that pass through my head that I would like to have said to Robert Jordan if I could do so in person. But knowing now that he can hear me as I speak I truly say; Robert, Thank you for the experiences, for the writings, and the inspiration. Your books have been a part of my life that I have always looked forward to. Coming home from long days at work.... they were there, and my mind at ease, knowing that I would be riding alongside the Dragon Reborn. Knowing that I would be watching him as his life unfolded around him and those close to him. Your work will always be cherished by me. And you know that "The Wheel weaves as The Wheel wills," more than anybody else. I look forward to seeing you someday. And I send my deepest condolences to your family. Thanks again, Robert Jordan.

I've been an avid reader for 15 years and the first time I read the first words in The Eye of the World, I've been hooked. Hearing of his passing is as painful to me as if he was a true family member since his books have been my companions ever since I read them. My deepest condolences and sympathies go out to his family for even though I have only known him through his books for a short time, he has filled me with happines, so I know he meant more to the people who actually knew him.

May the Light illumine Mr. Jordan's soul, brightly as he deserved, and may he shelter in the Creator's hand until his rebirth. The Light send him a readiant rebirth. I cannot think of any man I admired more than Mr. Jordan. I admire him and honor him still. I always will.

R.I.P.

I started EYE OF THE WORLD around about September of last year(2007)and I never thought that I would get into it. I got it from a friend who said that I must read it and when I got it I was like "Holy Crap! This think is huge!!" From the cover it looked pretty cool so I tried it out. I never read a book, before this one, that is over 400 pages long from cover to cover. After a little while I was really into it and now I am 3 hundred and sixty pages through THE SHADOW RISING, book four. I never thought that I would read much by choice but I liked the series so much that I payed $92 to buy the whole series for myself! I don't think that I could ever get rid of my WHEEL OF TIME books. EVER!!!!!

So I would Like to say Thank-You Mr. Jordan and may you shelter in the palm of the Creator's hand, and the last embrace of the mother welcome you home.

I think he left an impact on the WORLD through his books...at least the ones I've read so far!!

I hope you Rest in Peace now and forever. The Creator welcome you home.

Stunned. I cannot seem to find enough words to express myself for a master story weaver that enriched my life with a few thousand of his. Robert Jordan, thank you sir. Your writings of magic-using wove a brillant tapestry in my mind's eye and will continue to do so every time I pick up your volume. Robert Jordan, thank you. Thru all the imaginative places and goings-on, it was the characters battling with the human condition that really made your works magical to me. Thank you.

I first discovered The Eye Of The World when I was in the seventh grade and I've read through the entire series several times since then. There isn't any author that I've read before or since that time that has been able to capture my imagination the way Mr. Jordan did. My deepest sympathies to the family and friends who had the privilege of knowing him. And thank you Robert Jordan. You are an inspiration and will be sorely missed.

My Mum introduced me to the Wheel of Time series when I was 14. I read the first 6 books twice over the following 5 or so years. The second time round, I was living in Italy and couldn't always find the book number I was up to printed in English so I had to get Mum to send them from England. I'm now 25 and living in NZ. My partner is 35 and when I met him 2 years ago, he told me he hated reading anything other than the occasional magazine. Of course I was horrified (I've been a bookworm from the word go). I believe anyone will enjoy reading if they can only find the right book so I told him I could find a book that he wouldn't be able to put down. He didn't believe me. Enter Robert Jordan's Eye of the World... What can I say (aside from the repeated "I told you so!" to my partner)? He really couldn't put the book down and the pride he felt in himself for finishing it was just great. He's now up to number 10! I love seeing him read the WoT - he gets so absorbed by the characters. I couldn't resist starting the series for the third time because he was constantly talking about it. I've just finished number 10 and I'm sort of putting off reading number 11 because I don't want it to end. We were both really shocked and upset to hear of Robert Jordans death. My prayers are with him. I have no idea what he was like as a person but I do know he has brought endless hours of pleasure to so very many people and for that I thank him from the bottom of my heart. May you rest in peace Robert Jordan (and please bring your talent back with you in the next age). Bless you, Hannah x

It's March 7, 2008 and I've only today ehard that Rober Jordan passed away last year. I'm deeply sorry to hear it. I was introduced to the Wheel of Time series last year by my older sister (we are both well over sixty years old) and so thorughly enjoyed them that I have no sat down and read them all, looking forward with anticipation to what I assumed would be Book 12 and the finale. Oh how sad to know there isn't one.

"O My Brother! Take thou the step of the Spirit, so that, swift as the twinkling of an eye, thou mayest flash through the wilds of remoteness and bereavement, attain the Ridvan of everlasting reunion, and in one breath commune with the heavenly Spirits. For with human feet thou canst never hope to traverse these immeasureable distances, nor attain they goal. Peace be upon him whom the light of truth guideth unto all truth, and who, in the name of God, standeth in the path of His Cause, upon the shore of true understanding."---Baha'u'llah

I feel foolish to have just learned of the passing of this great author. Earlier today I writing a friend in Africa telling I was currently rereading book 8 and book 2, switching from to the other. I was explaining how I had figured out certian things. Afterwards I googled his name (I am not very computer literate, and had not done so in mos), anyway I was very sad to hear of this, and spent the last hour or reading his blog. I don't know it anyone will ever see this as I am writing a response to something posted mos ago, but if they do my thoughts and prayers go out to this family and friends. He brought me many many hours of enjoyment, as I have read his books many times. Thanks to him for that.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Husband/Father/brother/cousin - It was only when I looked up to find out when the 12th book of the Wheel of Time would be published that I discovered he was gone to his Maker. I am constantly amazed at how anyone at all can keep the many characters straight, especially for such a gigantic project as the Wheel of Time. Once again, please accept my deepest condolences.

A Robert Jordan fan.

Like the others who recently posted, I too googled Robert Jordan to see when the next book was coming out and was shocked and saddened to find that he had passed on months ago. I couldn't believe I had not heard it on the news or read it in an online news headline. I had known he had been battling illness, but I had no idea that it had progressed so. The world has lost an amazing author and an amazing man. I have read and re-read the entire Wheel of Time series several times, and I can honestly say that this series was one of the things that brought my husband and I closer in our marriage, as he introduced me to the books and it gave us something to do together and have long discussions about. Thank you, Robert Jordan, and we will miss you.

I just returned from the bookstore earlier, frustrated by the non-appearance of Book 12, WOT, and decided to check the websites, and like so many others, was shocked and saddened to find out that Mr. Jordan passed away last year. I have not heard a peep about this, even though he is one of the greatest writers of science fantasy this decade, if not ever. I will miss him, and the many hours of enjoyment he gave me. Writer 2599 implied that he had made arrangements for Book 12 to be finished. Does anyone have any direct knowledge on whether the series will be finished or not?

Having only just finished book 11 (for the second time) of WOT and checking the web for release of Book 12, you can imagine my shock at reading of the passing of one of the better Science fiction writers around. The world he created was one so great and complex you could lose yourself for hours! My deepest condolences goes out to his family and friends. May your world stay bright and strong as the world he created for us all.

I was saddened to hear about Robert's death a few months back. I had heard that he was ill and sent him what strenghth and prayers I could to bear through until his time was right with the creator. I can't remember how long ago that I first started to read the WoT, but I know that upon completing each and every book, I couldn't wait for the next to make the press. Robert wrote so vividly, providing humanity to his charaters, and invited us to identify with them, sometimes on a personal level. His stories brought me relief from moments in my own life and allowed me small measures of time to live through his pen. I wish him well on this next phase of his journey, and till our souls' paths meet again.....God speed!

I was in study hall at school when i decided to look up when the next book would be coming for WoT. I am very sorry to hear about Mr. Jordan and assure you that you have the prayers of myself, my father, my mother, and my sister, all of whom are fans of the series. I apologize that it is so late, but God be with you as I am sure he is with Robert in heaven. A now grieving fan, Jon.
