Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

Guest Wilson

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

I would like to send my heartfelt thanks for all that Robert Jordan gave to his fans. It was thanks to him that I first discovered my favorite literary character, Conan the Cimmerian, in the novel Conan the Unconquered, and has influenced my own style of writing. I now have a full collection of RJ's Conan novels, as well as the amazing Wheel of Time series. I even own the Wheel of Time Roleplaying game. My deepest sympathies to Robert's family and friends. We will all miss such a talented writer and wonderful person. Robert Jordan, you will not be forgotten.

I didn't believe it when someone told me that Robert Jordan was gone. And I refused to look, afraid the sadness for the loss that the whole world will suffer with his great talent gone would overwhelm me. Now I find it is true and I am greatly saddened. My prayers and condolences to his family and friends are heartfelt and sincere. I am sure that they have seen this over and over again but I add my sadness at his passing to theirs even though my sadness does not even come close to theirs who knew him and loved him on a personal and familiar level. Suffice it to say that in my opinion and in the opinion of many others, Robert Jordan was a great man and a great storyteller whose light shall remain undimmed for the millions who love his story and his vision of the light. He has told a story that, I believe, will be a classic, passed on generation by generation, to teach future generations what it is to suffer for righteousness and that not all of your choices in that quest are simple.

The world is a bit darker today, not as brigthly shining as it was when you were here - in the very center of it. I would like to thank you for all you have been giving me, through your words, through your vision, your magic - but I´m without words. Today I feel numb, for a while I will. Then I will see the light again, the love and light you always carried and gave us. I am overwhelmed by the loss, but I believe you are in a far more beautiful and better place now. A great man has left this kind of beeing. I now you will feel peace and love for all eternity. And the light you carried shall remain undimmed for the millions who love your story and your vision of the light will continue to lead us all, and comfort us. In time. We love you and all that you stand for!

My prayers and sincere condolences to Robert´s family and friends.

Dreams

White mountains within our minds

raindrops from the tears we shed

Greeness from happiness bought

within his words we have read

Daylights of more tomorrows

upon pages turned in time

From a hero, father, and dreamer

bringing wonder like a fine wine

I taste the sent of trees

upon every page I turn

I live the memories of fantasy

through the travels his books procured

I laugh and cry as it unfolds

all deeds that grew from his within

Yet though I never met the Man

I gather him as my friend

Now I water the pages

with tears of passing be

For nowhere will I find his words

except in old books and my memory

So they live on in accomplishments

and in those hearts he touched

Creating a better tomorrow

in the fantasy you painted for us.

indeed the world is a bit darker today, as it will be everyday. For eventhough the accomplishments, memories and the hope still lives in all of us who were touched by RJ's fantastic series of books the joyfull soul will no longer grace the pages of the books that have become so dear to me. I also want to extend my most sincere wishes towards Harriet in this trying time and only hope that these words bear some measure of comfort; for recently i too have lost someone extermely close to me in much the same fashion as you. Be strong, remember the good, cherish the love, and above all else always remember that you and your husband will always hole a special place in the hearts of those who have been touched by the spirit of RJ that he so unselfishly gave to us in the WOT series. and always remeber that you will meet once again and you will never be alone

sincerly,

jake

Robert Jordan's books have inspired me to dream and write my own stories. He truly is an inspiration to anyone who reads his books.

More can not be said than has already been said by those who have written thier sorrow onto this site, but i for one do not think it right that RJ's picture should be so close to anything else! let dragonmount.com stay solely for this great man, to whome we owe all this!

Your books brought me much happiness and provided a 16 year old boy living in a strange country an escape from the homesickness. I followed your saga through my Navy years and after until your passing. You are by far the greatest storyteller I have ever read. Go in peace.

May the Lord bless you and keep you.

May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.

May the Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace.

Amen.

I am saddened to hear this and send best wishes to family and friends. I wish Robert had been able to finish the series and all other books he had plans to write.

The books gave me great pleasure from when I read the first three years ago at the age of 12 and I will read the series many times over because I love it that much.

Prayers to the greatest writer I have known.

The wheel of time series were my savior and I thank Robert Jordan for them.

When I first went to high school, I was a bit suicidal. I would think about

killing myself everyday since my life was so god damn messed up. When I started reading the book,

I was so entwined with it. It was the first time that I had read a fantasy book. Every time

I read Robert Jordan's "The Eye of The World" I would be transported into a whole new world

where my real life was not there. I got through all the fights and arguments that my family seem

to cause everyday only because I was not there to listen to them. I was traveling along with Rand and Mat and Perrin and everyone of them. "The Eye of The World" saved my life. It made me forget about suicide. It gave me a life, even if it was a fake one, that I did not have to worry about hearing the the arguments of my family. I am deeply pained at Robert Jordan's death and even if he is forgotten, I will alway remember him. Robert Jordan, the man who had saved my life with his book.

To him I give my gratitude and he will always be remembered in my heart as a great person. I was hoping that one day when I become successful I would meet my savior but it seems like that hope won't come true. Robert Jordan, you brought light into my world and I thank you for it. Ua tsuag ntau Robert Jordan.

My brother in law first lent me eye of the world in the early ninetys and I was hooked right away

and as I got the new ones I read from the start again and I still find things that I hadn't noticed before. I waited for eached book and when it came it was like an old friend coming in and it was

with great sadiness when I got on to the net two days after he left us it was like loosing a friend that let me share his world for a long time. He will always be in his works for me because

I never get tired of reading them over and over.So to his inner family I say this world has lost a

great mind john
