Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

I just checked in after a long while to see how he was doing and the news of his passing sent a painful jolt through my chest. The warm and encouraging words written about him and how he dealt with his illness washed away my shock. He was blessed to have such loving people around him. Maybe it is about time I start to write those stories that have been brewing in my mind and stop wasting my time. I hold on to my faith and believe that he is truly headed to a better place.

I've been a fan of his books ever since I learned to read, and I've been expecting book 12 for a while now. It pains me to read that he has died...I didn't know until today.

Thank you for opening the world of reading to me, and giving me one of the greatest adventures of my life.

Condolences to family and friends.... he will always be loved.

I was so sad to hear of Robert Jordan's passing away recently. I started reading the Wheel of Time series before moving to Japan many years ago, and have recently begun re-reading it from the beginning up to the currently available editions. I so hope to see the final story completed by someone worthy. Not just for we readers, but also for Robert, who put so much of himself into this work. All my love and sympathy to his family. RIP

My deepest condolences to all of RJ's family. He was the most influential writer in my life. It's incredible how someone i've never met, has played such a huge part in my life. I hope he received the respect and honour from all his fans that he deserved. I only wish i could have been in one of the wake's.

May the Creator hold and protect the Dragon Himself.

Dear Mrs Harriet Rigney. I am one of your late husbands fans. He has been a part of my life a long time. He was a frend who let me in to a world were I fore a little time was abel to leav the hard reality where my husband was killd in an accident 1995. He was born 1948 the same year as your husband. The same year my belaved sisters son, 3 veaks younger than my son died in braintumor only 18 year old. I know that nothing is a comfort fore You at this time but i know that the day will come when knowledge like this is will feel good to read. When a loved one die we survive 60 min and then a day and belive me or not the day vill come wen a whole day has gone and you is still alive. 12 years has gone fore me and now I remember my husband with joy and laufter. And one of them who helpt me is your husband. Hope that You have something to help You the same way. May all the good spirits bee with You. A sweedish fan to Robert Jordan

I began reading the Wheel of Time 2 yrs ago. since then i have read all his work over and over again. A lord in the world of fantsy fiction has gone home and i cant express the grief i feel.

A world of fantsy so strong, stronger than my waking world.

I pray for your rebirth.

Another Age, another time, may you be born.

Another world another era needs your work.

May the mother welcome her son home and peace favor your sword.

The wind of time have taken our Dragon, but he will live on in our hearts and his books eternally.

He brought to me the love of books that has been carried with me since i first read his beautiful words, the only word that describe him is 'GENIUS'

I only hope if the final story is finished it is done by someone who loved him as much as his readers have and stays true to his unique and brilliant style.

You will be missed greatly by us all

My heart goes out to all who knew him especially his wonderful family

RIP RJ

Wow... talk about having my head in the sand.... I have read all 11 books from the week the first was published and I was a newly wed navy wife stationed halfway around the world..lonely and homesick. Rand and company have stayed with me over the years... I awaited each book with such anticipation.... I feel stunned and sad. His family is in my prayers and regardless of who attempts to finish book 12... I look forward to the day we sit in heaven with Robert and hear his ending.

RIP RJ. I've just finished the books that my dad decided to let me read. They changed my life, and I'm glad for it.

The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills, and I look forward to the 12th book, regardless of who writes it. It will honor his name.

The Light shine upon all of his family, and may the last embrace of the Mother welcome you home RJ.

I cannot begin to describe how much the Wheel of Time series has meant to me. There just are'nt any words that whould suffice. What i can say, is that it has without a doubt, been the best reading experience i have had in my life. The WoT series is the Sole reason i started reading more in life than comic books and news-papers, and i owe it all to Robert Jordan.

Though the knowledge of his passing makes me sad, im also glad that his struggle is over and that he's gone somewhere better.

The wheel weaves as the wheel wills. Rest in peace RJ.

I must say that the Wheel of Time is perhaps without a doubt the best fictional book series ever published. I am deeply saddened by the death of one of my heroes who had given me a whole new world to believe in.
