Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

Guest Wilson

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

I cried when I read this. I cried for his wonderfully supportive wife and I cried for my fellow fans and I. Most of all I cried for Robert Jordan who's life was cut too short. He had so many plans for so many books. Why does this have to happen? I will miss him so much. I was looking forward to his words/books after the "Wheel of Time" series was over.

I will never forget you Robert, ever. I have been reading your books for so long now you has just been a part of my life. You inspired me in so many ways it is indescribable. Rest in peace my dear friend, I regret that I never met you in person to praise you like you deserved. I weep still.

It gives me comfort to know that he never wavered in his faith in Christ. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven. Until then I will celebrate his life.

God bless you Harriet. You are in my prayers.

I am crying as I write this. I have been a fan of Robert Jordan's ever since I picked up the first book in the WOT universe. From the first word I was hooked. I have read and re-read his books since then and each time have been amazed at the depth and complexity and richness of the world he created. But even more than as a writer, I admire him as a man. When I started reading about his fight with this terrible illness, and the courage and great spirit that he showed in this fight I was filled with admiration. My heart goes out to his wife and his family. If I, who never met him, except through his words, can miss him so profoundly, I can only imagine the depth of their loss.

I've been away from my computer for a while and missed the news of his death and I feel really sad about not being part of his wake. My deepest condolences to RJs family and friends.

It will be hard not to have any more of his books to look forward to.

I only picked up the Wheel of Time series about 18 months ago. I was immediately hooked! I have been keeping half an eye on the web to see when book 12 is due to be published and I was deeply shocked to hear of RJs death. While I never met him, I have been hugely impressed by his literary abilities and his humanity when talking about his illness. My thoughts and prayers are with his family now, as are those of many thousands of people from around the world. God Bless.

The departure of this creative spirit has darkened our world. Mr. Jordan's ability to vividly create places, histories, and most importantly characters, I think, demonstrates just how well he understood humanity and the world we all live in.

Thank you Mr. Jordan for giving us all so much; a place to escape to, a world to learn about, and characters to love. Through both your work, and your pressence, you have inspired countless people. That is the legacy I shall remember you for.

God bless.

I am truly sorry to hear of Robert Jordans passing. I havent went to this website for a time and imagine my shock to find that he had passed on. I have followed the Wheel of Time series since high school and have always watched for the publishing of his next book. The world that he created was nothing short of amazing. I've always looked to his books for a sign of hope in humanity and the endurance of human spirit over the evils we all face. I and many readers will greatly miss him. Again I am deeply sorry for the lose and hope that everyone can take solice in the writings of a great man. He is gone but he has touched my life and I will forever carry the lessons I have learned from him.

Goodbye Robert. Rest in peace.

I always loved the wheel of time, and find myself in tears for the loss of Robert Jordan, not only for t he literary community, but for his family as well. He was a great man, and we will miss him.

Till shade is gone, till water is gone,

into the Shadow with teeth bared,

screaming defiance with the last breath,

to spit in Sightblinder's eye on the last Day

I just finished my second round of the Wheel of Time series, and now my girlfriend is just startin book 4. She loves it, I love it; we both agree that it is masterfully written. Also it has great moral undertones and overtones that any good person (anyone who walks in the Light) can appreciate. God bless James Rigney for all of his work, and his family and supporters. May God be with you/us all in this sad time.

I saw the WoT for the first time three years ago. I read one and I wasn't sure about it, then, last year, i read another and i was hooked. I bought all of the books and read them in less than a month. Robert Jordan quickly became my favorite author and I'll miss reading about the wonderful world he created. my sympathies to his family and friends, because this must be horrible for them. May he rest in peace.

Robert Jordan was a wonderful writer. I've read nine of his eleven books. It is a shame that he died, and I express my deepest sorrow to his family. We will always remember him.

May he rest in peace, and keep writing for the Light.

To RJ I say THANK YOU for sharing your wonderful imagination and all the happy hours your writing has, and will continue to give me.

There is peace in the mother's last embrace, may she welcome you home.

To his family and friends, I am so sorry-may the pain recede in time and you only feel happiness at the memory of the joy he brought to you and so many others.

To all of us who only knew him through his books, and knew him we did, my deepest sympaties for the loss of our favorite story teller.

Blessed Be

A crying shame.

In every sense of the word.

I wish I was religous, or at least, less cynical.

His talent for story telling was unsurpased.

It make it easier to take, knowing he know love, Harriet.

I am at a loss for better words.

I know he would not be.

It's such a great shock to have learned of the passing away of this great man. He inspired both my husband and myself (In fact we met due to the common interests of reading his books) My sincere condolences to loved ones and friends left behind. Even though he has passed onto a better world, our world will be left with a huge emptiness. God bless you and keep you in this trying time.

I came searching today, feeling, as I often do, that it is about time for RJ to release another book in the series... it always seems to be around my birthday and his books are gifts to me in so many ways. I am absolutely stunned.

May each of you who know him and love him intimately be comforted by the knowledge that he no longer suffers in this life and that he knows now the full depth of love.

May each of us who have been touched, inspired, moved, entertained, and motivated by his deeds and his words take heart and take courage from his example.

RJ - Sleep well and wake - if not to this dream, then to another.

Peace
