Sometimes even when you've fought your best....

Guest Wilson

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Dragon is gone. RJ left us today at 2:45 PM. He fought a valiant fight against this most horrid disease. In the end, he left peacefully and in no pain. In the years he had fought this, he taught me much about living and about facing death. He never waivered in his faith, nor questioned our God's timing. I could not possibly be more proud of anyone. I am eternally grateful for the time that I had with him on this earth and look forward to our reunion, though as I told him this afternoon, not yet. I love you bubba.

Our beloved Harriet was at his side through the entire fight and to the end. The last words from his mouth were to tell her that he loved her.

Thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. He knew you were there. Harriet reminded him today that she was very proud of the many lives he had touched through his work. We've all felt the love that you've been sending my brother/cousin. Please keep it coming as our Harriet could use the support.

Jason will be posting funeral arrangements.

My sincerest thanks.

Peace and Light be with each of you,

Wilson

To Catalyst: Never, never loose faith. RJ did not. Harriet hasn't. I haven't. Going through what we have, our faith is only strengthened. Besides, if God didn't exist, we would have never had Jim. We did. God does. Remember my Brother/Cousin, my friend, think of him fondly and glorify God's name.

Editor's Note:

The entire staff of Dragonmount.com would like to extend its most deepest sympathies to Robert Jordan's family. He touched all of our lives in some way and we wish him the rest and peace he deserves. We will be posting information in the near future about where you can send condolences. Please check the News Section for these updates.

To Harriet, Wilson, and all of the family, my condolences. A great man has passed onto something better. While we all feel the sorrow of the loss, we can rest in the knowledge that RJ is in a better place, with no pain.

You are missed, terribly. I fear that I will be unable to read the last book, when it is released, without the pages blurred by tears.

I have bought countless copies of all the books, read them until they fell apart, loaned them to friends only to have them read them until they fell apart.

Since the day I first picked up The Eye of the World, You have been a part of my life. I thank you for sharing your vision, your characters, your world with us all. I thank you for staying with us as long as you did, and doing your best to complete that which you started.

You are missed, not just by your wife and your family and your friends, but by your readers and most of all your characters and the world that you allowed us to watch through the keyhole of your words.

You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.

I've just found out about RJ's passing.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends; I wish you a lot of strenght in times to come.

As so many readers I have never known Robert in person, but for many years his books have been an important part of my reading-world. I enjoy(ed) The Wheel of Time series so much and through his books I will think of and honour Robert.

I find myself sitting at work wiping tears from my eyes... I am, as so many other are, a huge fan of RJ's work--but the depth of the loss that I feel suprises me.

To Harrriet and Wilson and the others who are close, hang in there. We will continue to uphold you in our prayers, and to admire you simply because you have lived in the presence of such a man.

My son James just texted me the sad news. I have that horrid nausea that accompanies shock. Out of respect for my son reading some of the books that I suggested to him, I started to read the WoT series because he said he thought I would like it, and of course I love it. It is a part of my life and a part of the relationship I have with him. That will always be special to me.

Dear Robert,

I hope it wasn't too maddening to leave this life with unfinished work, if there was any. I hope it's good where you are. Thank you for what you have left behind. I am so so sad that you had to go.

Heartfelt condolences to family and friends...God Bless you all too

"A Memory of Light", indeed. Rememberance of RJ will have many different faces. Light, though, may be the most fitting. Thanks for everything, and may the Light shine upon you and your mourning family.

As so many other's before have posted, I am so very saddened to hear of RJ's passing. Like so many other's he has touched my life through his works in ways that words cannot express. I started reading the WoT one hot summer day at the lake when I was 13 or 14 years old.. and still at age 22, excitedly turn each page as I re-read yet again, one of my WoT books the have gotten rather worn out over the years.

His memory will never be forgotten, my condolences to all of his family and friends.

Love and regards,
