Accepted Interview:

Dragonmount Handle: Amadine

Full Character Name: Amadine al’Varine

Part 1 - Out of Character

1.1. Which Ajah do you aspire to join and why?

Yellow, Amadine has a deep desire to Heal. She was inspired by a Yellow Sister to go to the Tower, she wants to save lives and give back to the world in the form of Healing.

1.2. How old would you place your Aes Sedai in the Main Timeline? Remember that Sitters must be at least 60-80 years of Age to sit in the Hall. (Information on the Aes Sedai Aging system is on both the Website and the WT Structure Board)

98 years in MTL and currently 29 years.

1.3. Have you role-played with any members of your aspiring Ajah? If so, who? What sort of impact did that member have on your character?

Camigwen Sedai – Head of the Yellow Ajah (though Amadine doesn’t know that). Camigwen taught Amadine to Delve and to Heal and set her to practise on the trainees at the

Training Yards. This rapidly improved her ability to Heal. Camigwen taught her that the One Power is but a tool in the hands of a Healer, and is not the be all and end all of Healing

1.4. Define freely what your character sees to be her Ajah's purpose? Does if differ from the norm?

Amadine sees the Yellows as those who Heal in all areas, mind, body & soul.

1.5. What kind of a role would you like your character and you OOCly to have in your Ajah and in the White Tower?

IC Amadine plans to travel the world, Healing where she can and interacting with the people of other nations. OOC – I am already MoN :P

Part 2 - In Character Development

2.1. What kind of a woman was your character when she was enrolled as a novice and what kind of a woman is she now?

Ama was a shy hard-working girl who loved her family and her life. She was a classical “good girl”. Once at the Tower Amadine met some girls who had influence on her, not only to bring out her inner strength and daring, but to be more confident and to stand up for herself. She has grown to be a woman who believes in herself and her own ability, she would never deliberate hurt anyone but will not let others hold her back.

2.2. What have been the most important, defining events in her life and how have they changed her? Separate the events to life before the Tower, life as novice and life as Accepted. Who are the people that have affected her life the most as Novice and as Accepted and how have they done that?

Before coming to the Tower Amadine met an unnamed Aes Sedai who Healed her Mistress and as a by-product of the Healing allow her to conceive after 20 years of barrenness. This defines Ama’s desire to Heal and she set out to the WT to be tested. As a Novice, Ama met several other Novices who taught her how to let loose and have fun – which resulted in a sore bottom several times and wrinkly hands. It also resulted in Amadine forming a friendship with Regalia Frantelle. Amadine was raised to Accepted before the other girls in her group of friends and spent the first week as a very lonely, grieving Accepted. The nightmares of her trip through the Arches continue to haunt her dreams years later. Just a week after being raised Accepted Amadine finds Regalia in an Accepted dress wandering the halls in a daze, she too has been scarred by the Arches and this strengthens their bond and connection.

2.3. What are your character's weaknesses? Strengths? What is her inner struggle? What is her philosophy of life?

Amadine is extremely empathetic, probably too much so. She can feel what she thinks other must be experiencing. She can quite easily imagine the feelings of other by imaging herself in their place, from the depths of despair to the heady heights of excitement. Since her trip through the Arches where she deserted her dying Warder in favour of the glowing Arch she has struggled with what feels like true pain. Although she knows that what happened in the Arches was probably not real, that it was likely just the creation of an event in her mind, in her heart it was real and she still feels like she let that Warder down and it has deeply scarred her soul.

2.4. What three words best describe your character's personality?

Loyal, dedicated, empathetic

Part 3 - The Role of an Aes Sedai

3.1. What do you think the role of an Aes Sedai is ICly?

Aes Sedai are Servants of All. They move through the world ideally improving the lot of those they can help and preparing the world for Tarmon Gai’don.

3.2. What has been the greatest sacrifice your character has made to become an Aes Sedai?

Amadine was very strongly family orientated, and her admission to the Tower practically severed that bond. She has not seen her family in many years and the knowledge that she will outlive her family by decades weighs heavily on her.

3.3. How is your character going to Serve All?

Amadine wants to travel the world providing Healing to any and all who require it. To give the gift of life to those who would otherwise die.

3.4. What would you like your character to achieve? What are her ambitions in life? What kind of RP plans do you have in mind for your Sister?

I’d like for Amadine to become highly skilled in Healing, she is determined to be at Tarmon Gai’don Healing those who fight with the Light, saving as many as possible to survive TG. RPs... other than lots of them! Regalia and Amadine will leave the Tower together and travel the world. Hopefully this will give much opportunity to interact with chars from other divs.

3.5. How does your character feel about Warders in general and of the whole bonding?

The experiences of the Arches left Amadine with a strong impression of Bonding. She has “felt” how it feels to lose a Warder already, and though she is not actively seeking a Warder she does hope to someday have a Warder who can be her friend and confidant.
