These are all really good. Completely different styles but all tell the story. Thanks for highlighting them so I can talk to them about JordanCon. :-)

Regarding spoilers, since these banners are specifically to celebrate the release of the last book, I'd certainly hope anyone reading this thread would expect it to reveal details of the later books. I mean, if someone is only up to book four, I would not expect them to reading anything that is related to the books after that.

Great recap! I had many mixed emotions about our track ending, but having so many good friends there to share in the experience helped a lot. Kudos to Jen and Jimmy, and thanks to them for all they hard work they have done over the years (and will continue to do). Also, a big shout-out to all the programming mavens who made the Wheel of Time track our home room at DragonCon for many years. The Wheel Turns....

I agree with you about Makena's work; I really wish we could get him to JordanCon for our art show. And of course Ariel (ReddEra) was there for the Taveren Tees announcement for the cards. Next year should be fantastic!

*waves* I was one of the Art Show directors. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Can you give me any sort of clue so I can hook a face to the screen name?

The links to the enlarged pictures weren't working for me on a Mac running Firefox 11, but otherwise, great post. :-)

I believe the licensing agreements for coats specifically are tied up with Museum Replicas at the moment.

I'd squee if I wasn't too cool for that. :-)
-
Excellent! :-) I hope at some point we'll be seeing more of your art too....

This is a great way to start off Fan Art Friday. Many of these are among my personal favorites. Great job!

I know better than to read these threads; and yet I couldn't resist. Better if I had.
CLEARLY there are a lot of folks replying who have never endured a true hardship or loss. So the book release may be delayed a few weeks? Boohoo. I'll buy it when it does come out and read it as soon as I can work up the nerve. Truthfully, it will probably sit on my table for a month while I just think about the fact that it is the last we'll ever see. WOW! I think I can wait a bit longer.
And for those of you for whom this is (apparently) the greatest disappointment of your entire lives, I envy you your lack of tragedy. But I pity you for your lack of life experience.

This was good fun! Thanks for doing it - it seems like it was a lot of work. Great fun though.

Love Jeremy and Seamas's work - they've been at it a long time, and it's become the foundation on which many a WoT costume is built. Kudos to Ta'veren Tees for partnering with these guys.

I had never noticed that Paul Bielaczyc's Rand was the picture used for this update! Cool.
-
Wow! that is cool news!
-
I do quite like this piece as well, but I'm hopefull we can get some folks cranking out new WoT art soon. We need MORRRRRREEEEEE! :-)

Amaziing news, even though long anticipated. Words fail me.

I agree about Egwene's eyes in the last piece; very realistic.

Wow, I am actually speechless. Whatever you thought about his art for the Wheel of Time, he was an icon. I had so hoped he'd be allowed to finish the series with us. Very sad just now and still processing my emotions on the subject. Rest in Peace, Darrel K. Sweet.

Grr! That was irritating. Here's the link to the video.

I thought we had covered Matt in one of the Fan Art Friday postings, but I couldn't find it anymore, so I'm posting this here. Here's a YouTube video I found that features lots of the cool portrayals of Mat Cauthon. Thought you all might like to check it out.

I read an anthology called, "The Green Man," with fantastic cover art by Charles Vess. I loved it - that genre was definitely the perfect fit for his talent.

He's just so creepy - hard to look at this article! lol
