  1. Arath walked hurriedly to the office he was supposed to report to. On a normal day he would wave to many of the aquantences he saw passing him by, but not today. The whole Warder's Yard was in an uproar- no one could trust each other. Somehow, a murderer had been killing people left and right, but the scary part was that no one knew who it was. It could be anyone- your best friend, your sparring partner, your commander, or that one Guard you see every day but never really talk to. The worst part about it was that they were the Tower Guard. They were the elite, and yet someone managed to get past all of their conciderable security and murder their comrades. It was a blow to their pride- if they could get past the Guard and murder men, they could get past the Guard and murder Aes' Sedai.

Still, they could not afford to let the news travel. The entire city of Tar Valon would be in a panic if they realized that someone was getting past them and breaching their security. They would be quick to point fingers at anyone- the butcher, the thatcher, that one man they never really got along with... It would be total anarchy. The Yards were full of tension and unrest, and everyone carried their weapons with them at all time. The sun was barely risen and he had just finished the night shift, and Arath had to go report his findings- or lack thereof- in his last patrol. There wasn't really much of a point, but for the sake of beurocracy they had to go through pointless ventures like that.

Arath entered the office complex, nodding tersely to the Guard standing outside, and found the right office. He knocked, but the door was not closed. Arath was about to appologise for the intrusion, but the words died in his throat as he saw what lay in front of him. The officer he was to report to was laying on the ground, his blood pooling around him. For an instant, he panicked, not knowing what to do, before he took control of himself and hurriedly exited the office. He had to go report this to Kynwric Gaiden.

  2. Ze'el narrowed his eyes as he began to assess the situation. He was about to be thrust into battle with a lot of shadowspawn and he couldn't rely on anything other than his novice skills in the One Power. He wasn't very afraid, though, because even if he wasn't an expert with Saidin the men around him were, and as long as he wore their coat they would protect him. Meanwhile, battles were chaos, and Ze'el could easily manipulate that to his advantage- as long as he could count on the Asha'men to have his back he could defend himself.

He was herded into a group with the Storm Leader and made his way over to the nearest Gateway. Even as the danger grew more and more, Ze'el couldn't help but feel excited. There was a certain thrill about the unknown, about the dangerous. He enjoyed manipulating people because of the danger it involved- if he made a false step he would be discovered and likely killed. The thrill of being a step away from death was addicting to Ze'el, and this battle would be no different. He would have to constantly manipulate his surroundings and his actions so that he didn't get a wickedly twisted Trolloc arrow stuck in him.

Ze'el's lips twitched and he couldn't help but allow a small smile on his face. He must have looked very odd among the stone-faced men ready to go off to the blight and fight the shadow.

  3. Arath grew more and more confused as Thera's tirade went on. He was the only one that she could confide in? Why would she have to confide in him if she was appologising to him. More and more he began to believe that she was not actually making an apology, but was telling him something else. When he heard the real reason he was there, Arath felt like he was just slapped in the face. He was sure that if he hadn't already been sitting he would have fallen. He was shocked by the bluntness of the words, but coming from Thera it wasn't all that surprising. He was so stunned by the annoucement that he didn't hear her last question.

"Th-that's great! A child is a blessing, I'm so happy... I am happy, right?" Upon seeing Thera nearly burst into tears, Arath hurriedly tried to comfort her. "I mean, Jasine will be so happy to hear that he's going to be a father! I'm sure that he would love to have a child!" Things weren't getting better and so Arath tried desperately to get himself out of the hole he had dug. "There's no way he'll be mad, in fact, he'll be estatic! You'll make a great mother, too! I bet there'll be a lot more children on the way! In fact, you two should just go and start a farm somewhere- be fruitful and multiply!" In his desperation, Arath was getting more and more ridiculous, and even a blind fool like him noticed that his words were having the opposite effect.

"Or maybe this will be your only child... Either way you and Jasine and your child will be very happy together! I can see Jasine teaching a little-Jasine how to ride and tame a horse... of course there aren't many places to do that around here... and Jasine would probably have Guard duties... And wouldn't you have your duties as Mistress of Trainees? I suppose you might be able to raise a child and be Mistress of Trainees..." Arath said unconvincingly. He was starting to see the issue here. A Guard was sworn to the Tower above all else, and it would be unfair for a child to be raised by two Guards.

Suppose that a given microwave radiation has a wavelength or 11.2 cm. How many photons are required to head 200 mL of coffe from 23 degrees C to 60 degrees C?

  5. So, I'm finally *coughcough* getting around to sorting out Banners for the Lion Company (that is all PCs, for everyone who doesn't know) and it would really help if you could all post here and give me:

    Character Name

    Rank (ie: trainee, TG, Warder)

*don't need anything else but if you really want to you can add more ;) *

I think I have most people, but just in case... And even if you're a Warder or intend to become a Warder in the near future, I would really apreciate it if you posted here.

    Thanks Bunches!

  6. Arath was practicing the forms as usual when the accepted came baring the message. She was a nervous looking girl, especially at encountering a half-naked Tower Guard. Arath didn't think of himself as very handsome, but the situation still must have been very flustering for the poor girl. Arath took the message quickly and sent the Accepted off to do whatever it was accepted did with their free time. He opened the letter and imidiately recognised the writing of Thera, having seen it many time. He was curious about what she writing him for. The last time they had talked was a few weeks ago and he had left after getting his head bitten off. Perhaps she was writing an appology? It didn't seem like the kind of thing that she would do though- writing an appology and sending an Accepted to bear it.

He was confused when the letter asked for him to meet her in the gardens, but nevertheless he made his way over. Throughout the entire time he was wondering what she would want to meet him for? If she wanted to just have a friendly chat she could just flag him down anytime he passed by. Perhaps she did want to appologise for snapping at him in their last meeting. Arath wasn't angry because of that, it didn't take more than two brain cells to connect Jasine's absence with Thera's bad mood. He thought that she would know that, but worry and paranoia did strange things to a person, and the whole issue would no doubt be settled with a few friendly words.

Arath strode to the meeting place whistling merrily. He hadn't seen Thera in a long while anyway, and they were due for a chat. When he arrived, he saw the Mistress of Trainees chewing on her finger nails. Light! She must have really worked herself up over this whole issue! Arath didn't remember seeing her so flustered in all his years in the Yards. Arath found a seat next to her and asked merrily: "How are you today, Thera?" He spoke brightly, to try to sooth her irrational worries. No doubt the whole issue would be fixed in the time it took to beat a trainee in a spar and they would laugh about it later.

  7. Arath paced the room for what felt like the thousandth time that evening. He wanted to help Eqwina Sedai with her Healing, but he knew that there was nothing he could do. It was dangerous for him to go with her, and it would probably just distract Eqwina Sedai unnecesarily. Still, 'what ifs' nagged at the back of Arath's mind. What if Eqwina got sick and collapsed and needed him to rush her back to the Tower for Healing? What if she exhausted herself in the Healing and collapsed and hit her head and died? What if a trolloc attacked? What if an Aeil invasion came while Arath was stuck in this tiny little room!?

Arath growled and kicked the wall, before cursing and hopping around, cradling his bruised toes the best he could. He wanted to do something, anything, to be useful, but he was commanded quite clearly to stay in the room. He had sworn an oath to obey Aes' Sedai when he was raised a Tower Guard, and he meant to keep it. Besides, he didn't even have the slightest idea where Eqwina was! He would just go wandering off into the city, and Eqwina would get worried and come after him... what if she got attacked by robbers on the way? Arath groaned before collapsing on the bed.

Sleep would not come, however, and Arath passed the time by counting downwards from one thousand, and then from ten thousand. He was on one thousand seven-hundred and twenty-three when the door opened and Eqwina Sedai walked in. He meant to leap up and offer her assistance, but his limbs had fallen dead asleep while he had laid on the bed and so by the time he got over the sudden shock, Eqwina had already fallen on the bed fully clothed. He meant to interogate her about how it went, but soon recognised that she was alsleep and obviously needed her rest. And so Arath gathered her in his arms and cradled her head against his chest, and finally found oblivion.

The next morning, Arath was well behaved, and waited until after they had risen from bed to interogate the woman about the previous night. "How did it go? Did you reach the woman's home alright? Did you have any difficulties Healing her? Is she alright now? Do you have any further buisness in Cairhien? Are there more sick to Heal? Will the woman require further healing-" Arath was cut off from his incesant questioning by Eqwina's raised hand and waited patiently for answers to his inquiries.
