Ata accidently thrashed my first ideal for not using weapons. Why I said if Dainin could have a "scene" in WS training, it's my new ideal for why not to use weapons. Besides even if Dainin hates weapons he would still learn at least one as a back-up to Saidin and to make himself more useful to the DO! ;) :D ;D

Jolted out of his wonderous stupor he gave himself a quick shake and focus on the young Lady before him. She was a very pretty red-haired woman of exceptional height for a woman. Blushing slightly as he realized he was staring, he coughed to clear his suddenly dry throat and said softly, " I was just exploring Lady. I am a new trainee in the Warders Yard and I thought I would see the place and women I will one day protect," in a much softer voice that was barely over a whisper he added, " I hope!"

Looking around he noticed all the women staring and most of the looks were anything but pleasant. Thinking quickly he turned back to the woman standing before him. "Might I trouble you to show me around Lady? I promise I won't get in the way or bug anyone. I just want to see and memorize the Tower in case, and Creator forbid, the Tower gets breached in an attack. I need to know my way around so I can better protect the Aes Sedai, " and in a mere whisper and witha fierceness that spoke volumes clear upon his face he adds, " Or my own Aes Sedai!"

I would have to back Jehaine on this one. If we are shielded or swear not to use OP us Dreadies should be able to join the class. However it is your call on who you want to teach.  :D

Oh, Devon I would promise not to use Saidin in your class if you are willing to let me make a scene (Not involving Saidin of course).

Well we don't really do mentors here but I can try and help.

First, did you get your bio approved? And has Eqwina sent you your welcome letter yet?

It has links to various important boards with lots of info on the DIV and RPing your Warder. We all start as Trainees and the first thing to do is post an Intro thread in the Warders Yard, found in the RP section below the DIVs. Put ATTN:Eqwina on it in the subject field.

There is also a link to the main Warer info page in Eqwina's post on what Warders need to know before joining. That helps a lot.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask them here and  many people will respond and try and help. You can also PM Eqwina and she'll answer as soon as she can.

One last thing, the WT/WY ORG gives mentors but if you really want one here I'm sure we can PM Eqwina with the ideal. I'm sure she would be willing to start assigning mentors. Until then I will be more then happy to assist you.

Dainin entered his Lord's room and immediately cowered under the barage of reprimands and the healing. Listening intently, he answered dutifully that he understood. Deciding now, when his Lord was so angry, was not a good time to mention that he had actually channeled more then twisting threads of Saidin. That could only make matters worse, he was sure of it.

Resting for the next week was hard but he wasn't about to disobey again. Instead he found some good books about Saidin and Saidar and read while he recovered his strength. The reading material was good and he gather some information on both halves, if not insight. This of course led to questions he would ask his Lord the next time he saw him.

When his week was up he grew excited. His Lord would come for him and teach him more now. As his Lord arrived and they started reviewing the threads in single form and in spirals he took the moment to ask his first question.

" My Lord? I have noticed that I am really strong in Fire and Earth but weak in Water and Air. Why is it that men are stronger in certain elements and women in the other two? I also noticed that I am strong in Spirit as well. How can I use that to my advantage my Lord?" He listened intently for the responseand then moved on to the next leddon.

Lighting the candle gave him a brief glipse of fear but he quickly pushed it aside and did as instructed. Channeling Saidin he focused on the red thread and put the tip of it against the wick. Igniting it took no effort after his last time in his room. Unlike like time it didn't flare like an inferno, instead it only shot straight up about two feet before settling to about an inch high. He glanced to his Lord as if to say, see I told I was strong and I was conrolling it!

Moving on to the next lesson with Air was a little harder, but only because he was weak in that element. He still managed to do it on the first try, it just took a moment for him to be able to manage the thread just right. A slight and small gust, like a person blowing hard was all it took and all he could manage with such control over it.

The next lesson involved two weaves, both of which he had not tried yet. Trying the weave took him several tries before he got it right. This amount of Water and that amoount of Earth, there just so to make it muddy as he was shown. It was hard trying to mix a thread he was strong in with a thread he was weak in. Having finally got it right he was grateful to remember the weave and then move on. This one bored him a little but he would remember it.

Lastly he was shown a weave that relied heavily on Spirit, one of his strongest, with small amounts of each of the others. This one took him an hour to master before he finally mixed and wove the threads just right. Preserving the flower seemed odd to him but he could just barely understand the use of this Keeping weave. Memorizing it, he listened devotedly to his Lord as he explained uses for all the weaves he just learned as well as the reminder to not forget to do things on his own, without Saidin.

Thinking quietly for a few minutes while holding the flower, he casually got up and walked over to stand before his Lord. Kneeling he said, " I was channeling Fire that day I burned my arm. I did it on purpose to clean my room. I have learned from that mistake Lord and I swear I won't try so again without getting your permission first. Please keep teaching me!"

OOC: I was trying to give myself a reason for using Saidin over swords for the rivalry between Jehaine's char and mine. ;) It's ok though, I can lose the arm another way and time. :D

Gaidan had just checked out his room and stowed his gear. Taking a quick wash to clean away dirt and sweat from his 100 lap run he thought about what to do next. I have seen the Yard and will be seeing probably more then I ever want to in the years to come. The town would be interesting but I would just get lost and the rules said to wait and go with a Tower Guard. That leaves the White Tower itself then. Having settled his mind on what to do for the remainder of the afternoon he got dressed quickly in his best tunic and breeches. Dark green tunic and brown breeches on and straightened to the best of his ability, he left his room with his sword on his back and his dagger in his belt.

Deciding to invite to invite Melenis he stopped by her room and knocked. Waiting a moment for a moment he decided to crack the door and holler inside, " I'm going to go visit the White Tower. You can catch up if you want." Having invited her in a roundabout manner he continued to walk through the Yard and invited anyone who asked him where he was going. Most declined and some of those chuckled as if they knew something he didn't. Brushing any negative thoughts aside he walked briskly to the Tower.

Walking in the gate, he said hello politely to anyone he saw. Smiling at the granduer of the place and at the people around him he walked slowly up to the great big entrance doors to the White Tower. Striding into the Tower in awe, he looked everywhere and admired the work of whoever crafted this masterful building.

He started to wander through the halls trying hard not to miss anything. He saw women in plain white dresses, white dresses with rainbow like bands around the bottom and women wearing extravagant dresses with predominant colors slashed or straiped with complimenting color. They were all of varying complextions and sizes. There must be women here from every Kingdom and Country! He noticed that some of them, the ones wearing colored dresses, had faces that either bordered on ageless or were ageless.

The halls themselves were full of wonderful vases and stands, finely crafted nooks and alcoves, elaborate tapestries and flags. All in all he found the Tower to be amazing! One day I will serve one of these women as her Warder! I hope that day comes soon so I can repay the debt I owe. Walking further into the Tower as he was lost in thoughts, he hardly realized the disapproving stares being given to him or the sudden approach of very loud and purposeful footsteps comong quickly towards him from behind.

Hello Ladies!

  My Warder trainee just finished his intro RP and is going to explore the White Tower. He hopes to meet some Aes Sedai, Accepted and Novices.

Also I'm trying to see if I can get a Req done. The req I'm looking at is a Conflict: To settle a dispute, disagreement or problem that two members of the Tower might be having. If anyone is interested in having such a problem please let me know. :D

Jay, can you tell me what parts of the WT a Trainee of the WY would be allowed to enter?

Masuko sat there quietly until her age was mentioned. Without meaning to she let her feelings show plain as day on her face, it was the look of a hawk fiercely determined to catch it's prey. Smoothing her face took some effort and was helped by the offer of someone to talk to. Instead of having it's desired intent, it produced another fire in her to never come to this woman for help. She tells me I'm too young and then tells me to seek her out for help! Why? So she can say "See I told you you were too young! and send her packing?! Never!

Smoothing the fire of her emotions she listened to who her mentor was to be and that she should find her soon. A Green? I wonder what she will be like? I've seen some Green's back home but always from a distance. Only one way to find out I guess. Her thoughts were broken by the announcement that she had to give up everything but her bells. Pouting horribly, she started to protest on the sword until she saw Larindhra's expression and the Aes Sedai's no non-sense attitude.

Grudgingly she accepted the new clothes and handed over evrything but the bells in her hair. It pained her greatly to lose the sword, it didn't matter that she didn't know how to use it very well. She had become used to it's weight and the feel of it on her hip. She also enjoyed the looks that people gave her and the second thoughts from people thinking to take advantage of a girl bearing arms. Sighing she gave it up and took the letter from Larindhra Sedai.

Following her to the door she waited until she was dismissed before curtsying and sullenly saying, " Thank you Larindhra Sedai, I will do my best." Then she turned and followed the Accepted quietly to her new rooms and life.

Just curious as to how many members are active here?

There has been alot of down-time in the BT DIV and I hope that we can change that. I made my first char for here and given the opportunity I will create RP's and OOC threads to bring some life back into the DIV. I can start by posting this thread.

Tell a little about yourselves (I know it has been done before but it never hurts to update.) ;)

My handle and real name is Sylvirci(middle name ;)) I am married with 3 kids and love to RP both on consoles and the PC. I also play DnD and a few spin-offs. I read lots of fantasy and sci-fi books. Watch lots of movies and spend a lot of time playing with my little ones. I have a good sense o humor and love joking around and talking about anything in general but can be serious when I have to be.

Well that's a start so come on speak up! :D

Has anyone applied for the position Rae? I was hoping to avoid applying for it as I am still reading about the DIV but if you don't have any apps yet then I can give it a shot. ;D
