  1. Siuan’s main purpose after being deposed was to serve as someone for Nyn to heal and thereby demonstate the effect of woman healing woman and to serve as an experienced political ally to The Wonder Girls in Salidar so as not to give them Mary Sue level political savvy (though I’m sure fanboy Rafe will have no problem giving that to Egwene). Loial was a stand in for RJ himself and while he made his contributions to the plot, he largely served as the eyes through which a larger story was witnessed. Sammael’s ultimate purpose was to get Rand back to Shadar Logoth so he could make his big connection with Moridin. Once this was accomplished RJ just unceremoniously fed him to Mashadar. I always thought this was an underwhelming death for him but perhaps RJ just wanted to demonstrate how powerful and deadly mashadar really was. That being said RJ did have a bit of a problem with giving characters their big moments and then not knowing quite what to do with them after. Once he abandoned Taimendred I’m not sure he ever quite figured out what to do with Demendred as I’m fairly creation that Boa the Wild was all Sanderson.
  2. Maybe not, have you ever heard Brandon Sanderson speak on the true fate of Lanfear?
  3. What was the deal with the voting scene? Why did so many of the sitters stand for Suian only after they asked who stood for Elaidia?
  4. What about Taim/Black Tower/Asha man. Need that before Dumai’s wells
  5. Now if there is anything that’s irrational it’s thinking you’re just going to wrap up an internet argument 😄
  6. So is Loial, so are the trollics but they didn’t look so ridiculously cartoony as to pull me out of the moment. So if a creature is nonhuman it doesn’t matter how fake or ridiculous it looks? Fine, why not just have Cookie Monster in there then?
  7. Frankly, I would have been more satisfied if this guy had turned up on the other side of the archway
  8. That’s a fair point and I too am concerned that this may be WOTs one and only shot at an adaptation and I struggled with the question of whether it’s better to have this adaptation than none at all. On the other hand, reboots really weren’t a thing until relatively recently so that ups my hopes that WOT may get a second shot. I mean the 2002 Queen of the Damned pretty well put Vampire chronicles adaptations on hiatus for a while but now we have a pretty decent AMC show.
  9. Well perhaps I’m qualified to join the writing staff then. I certainly could not do a worse job and I might just be able to fix a few things🤔
  10. For a second I thought Mat had stepped through a portal to the musical, Cats. I will say that the Eelfin sequence was better than the Cats movie that came out a few years back🤷
  11. This show has had its moments but after this episode I’m officially pulling for no green light on season 4. The sooner this mess is shit canned the sooner we might get a decent reboot. Sure it will likely be 5-10 years down the road but that beats the 20-25 it will be if the show is completed. Furthermore, if this show is completed and thereby is considered a success and becomes definitive it will make a reboot less likely. It’s not that I haven’t enjoyed parts of it, but it’s best if this show is cut down early and forgotten.
  12. When Nyneave was in Egypt land, let my people go😉
  13. And I hope that something is teaching him how to act😉
  14. Yes, everything about this was lame. Sammael replacing Asmodean, Lame! Moiraine shielding Sammael, Lame! Sammael not actually replacing Asmodean, Lame! At the very least they could have had him say, You? Noooo! When Mogedian showed up 🤷
  15. Was I the only one expecting the Eelfin to start belting out, “Meeeemory, all alone by the moon light….” at any moment?😄
  16. Sure, so long as she didn’t turn the bond off. Seriously, what the hell is that?!!
  17. I think Maksim is to Rafe Judkins what Androl was to Brandon Sanderson, a character that he has made his own. Of course, the big differences are that Androl was a character that previously existed in the series, and Sanderson is actually good at writing characters. I can’t stand Maskim, largely because I don’t give a crap about some non book character. Why not at the very least give this role to Ivon? He is at least a character that I recognize from the books.
  18. I agree 💯. This is one of the things that ruins the tone and makes this story not feel like WOT. I mean what if Peter Jackson had decided to take this approach with LOTR? Can you imagine Sam Gamgee dropping F-bombs?!
  19. Honestly I think that is the case. As much as I love Loial he really didn’t do much in the books after this point, his only other big scenes being Dumai’s wells and his debate with his mother. Given how little he does after this they probably didn’t think it was worth the time and cost of makeup. However, if they are going to kill off Loial this was the right way to do it. At first I thought why not have him go down at Dumai’s wells but after giving it a little thought dying to save the Two Rivers is better.
  20. True, but that’s pretty much the show all around. I know it’s gotten better with each season but its kind of like bringing your grade up from an F to a C-. Sure it passable now but nowhere near great
  21. Yes, I really hope Aram gets a better end in the show than he did in the books and I hope it’s more that just becoming the new blacksmith of Emond’s Field. This version is much more likable (Though I don’t think RJ ever intended him to be a likable character), I’m thinking maybe he will fill some of the Loial gaps in secenes such as Dumai’s Wells
  22. It was an appropriate death for Valda, but on the other hand I was looking forward to his duel with Galad.
  23. Yes, Mat’s supernatural luck in the show is intuitively obvious 😉
  24. Fair enough, but it has to start somewhere. I guess we’ll just have to see where they go with it.
