My next door neighbour and her husband have been nagging me to tell them who the dragon is, my wife has twigged, she thinks it is Rand, because as she said he showed he has power when he knocked the door down.

My coworker is watching it also and I had to hold myself back from even asking who he thought it was cause I’d spoil it on accident lol I already got a friend spoiled cause they follow me on twitter.

@ThroneofTime Oh the wait is excruciating and I dont like binging. So, I just take that to mean I really enjoy it. And that I should make time to re-watch. I really should. I saw in another thread that people find a lot of things on watching the 2nd or 3rd time..

I waffle back and forth on whether I like to binge or not. The wait for shows is excruciating but I also don’t want to be spoiled but I enjoy reading the shows chats afterwards then cry when I can’t participate. I’m honestly a mess.

Our brains work by finding patterns, even where none may exist. The joke is that people have these notions about others/groups of others while being completely off base.

I think it's meant to point out the absurdity of miscommunication (and the limitations of perception) rather than being an endorsement of gender stereotypes

    Doesn’t help that

    Spoiler

A man broke the world through magic and women had to pick up the pieces.

That skewed the gender relationships and it gets better towards the end from what I remember, I need to reread its been almost 7 years since I finished the series.

  4. Pretty good so far and I’m only 3 episodes in. I’m trying to take it slow so I can have enough to watch at once and not have to wait but I’m already caught up and don’t really want to wait any more. Watching a show week by week kinda messes with my expectations a tad too much. Tangent over but, I honestly am enjoying it more than some of the Marvel tv I’ve watched this year. It’s a solid 7/10. Can’t beat Invincible but the coming episodes can change my mind.

I mean ... if Anakin was about looks its all good.

Its that part when he started opening his mouth in acting that it fell apart.

So far Josha has not had that issue, when he acts he is fine and dandy.

Then again they are hiding him more than a disgraced politician right now to keep up this "Oh it cant possibly be Rand" illusion lmao.

LOL No kidding. If I didn't know better I'd say the Dragon was either Egwene or Perrin since Rand hasn't really done anything besides fawn over her or be moody. Which is valid but I found him annoying until like the 3rd book so I kinda like him better here, at least in the beginning.  They're doing a pretty good job for newbies on that front.

    I wouldn't go that far.

He seems to appreciate dirt and possibly its cousin sand.

I'll eat my words though if he starts to dislike sand though. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.

    ?

It's his looks more than anything. Josha reminds me so much of Attack of the Clones Hayden Christensen that I had to double check the cast X-Rays.

  7. Book and film are two different mediums and so the language one or another conveys information to the consumer will be different. I read the books and came into the series hesitant but it's pretty good television. Characters aren't exactly how I pictured them but I kind of expect that. You can tell that they came into the project with respect for the material and that's all I'm asking for. It's the exact opposite of Netflix's string of nostalgic garbage.

Never had any problem getting into the first book, but everyone is different.  If they don't like the first, they probably won't like the rest...

I know for me when I picked the series up, I didn't get the full whole book. I was young, i.e middle school, and got into the series by reading the second half of the first book, back when they were published in parts, and tried to go back to Eye of the World and couldn't. But i also had read up to Lord of Chaos by then and the leap from that advanced character development back to the beginning was a drag.
