Yeah, I only have one more req left for that. I already have it planned out too, it's just a matter of writing it and getting it posted now.
But it sort of ties into an rp that I am currently in, and I believe that it is almost over. (Just depends on how many more posts Wolfie
needs) But soooooon, precccioussss. ;)

I was kind of inactive for awhile, but I should be more active again now. I couldn't deal with being "someone else" while I was dealing
with all of the illnesses in my house. But I'm a novice....hopefully raised to Accepted soon. I think I'm only one req away from it.

OOC: Sorry this took so long, Kronos. It was just too hard to think of roleplay while I was trying to deal with all of this sickness in my house.
IC:
"Long ago, before the Breaking and even before the Time of Madness, people were never in want for anything. Material wealth was not a concern for
the people of this age, and so their focus was shifted to the well being of the community, " Ariani began confidently, "Having status in the community
was everything and the only way to achieve this was through service to it."
Ariani glanced briefly at Kira, feeling as if the other girl had been reading over her shoulder. She returned to her book when she saw that Kira was focusing
on her own book. Clearing her throat, she continued in a sing song tone, "Channelers in this age had to work just as hard for this status. They were common
during this time, so having the ability to channel was rarely, if ever, seen as an advantage to gaining the respect of the community. This age was called, the Age
of Legends...."
Ariani continued reading, stumbling over a few words occasionally and then correcting herself almost immediately. The more that she read, the fewer mistakes
were made and she was almost confused when Kira called the lesson to a close for the day.
"Have I been reading that long?" she thought to herself.
As Kira was gathering the books up, Ariani pulled two papers from her own satchel and slid them face down to the Accepted. She did not release the papers right
away, despite Kira's attempt to pick them up. Instead, she locked eyes with the older girl and a serious expression crossed her face.
"I need to send this to someone," Ariani said in a tone that she felt sounded more serious than anything that she had ever heard, "It...it is important. I think that
my letters are right, but I want to be sure."
She gripped the pages tighter as Kira nodded and began to pick them up. "Wait," Ariani continued in a stern voice, "There are things in this letter....about me and
my past. I am trying to trust...I am trusting you, Kira. Do not speak of the contents of this letter to anyone....please. No one. I get enough stares as it is.
This can NOT get out. Please."

I know. :) You couldn't tell that she was even sick if it wasn't for this horrible cough. But we're home now. She has
to stay home for a week, but she's well enough to take treatment here so they let her go. Now I just have to deal with
the monster she'll become with the breathing treatments. lol But it's worth it to know that she's all right. :)

LoA
My daughter has to be admitted into the hospital for pneumonia and since she is so little,
I have to stay there with her. I don't know how long I'll be gone, but if they have Wi-Fi there,
then I can pop on here every now and then.
-
OOC: Sorry it took so long to reply. Tired from taking care of the sick people in my house, and for awhile, I thought that I was getting sick too.
IC:
Kira had seemed pleased that Ariani had taken the initiative to write the letters without tracing them, and Ariani had explained her drive
to take the lesson further simply with, "I have someone that I need to write to."
They practiced letter sounds more and Kira explained the rules more in depth as they went on. There were a few times that Ariani had gotten
frustrated, swore loudly and threw a book on the floor....but she cooled down as quickly as she had heated up, quickly apologizing for her outburst
and then cleaning up any mess that she had made. Usually, she figured things out after the second attempt. The Accepted never lost her temper,
although a couple times she seemed to come close, but she always kept a calm voice and seemed to be more understanding than anything of Ariani's own temper.
Ariani had left class most days feeling more confident with her newly acquired ability and practiced writing the letters until they were clear and easy to decipher,
her penmanship becoming more fluid and feminine. Sometimes she would marvel over how pretty writing could be and would write words different ways, just to see
what they'd look like.
Kira kept giving her more and more assignments and there were days that she felt a little overwhelmed, but she refused to say anything about it, no matter how tired
she would get from studying. Eventually, Kira had given her some books to try in addition to trying to write the letters. Nervous at first, Ariani took the books back to
her room, positive that she would have a stack of papers full of questions for Kira to have to explain to her. This would be the first time she had tried to read without the
Accepted right there to help her through it. To her surprise, she read the books easily and had only one question when she returned to her next class.
"Do you have anything more difficult to read?" she asked, elated that she could now make sense of the written gibberish she had seen in books and on paper that she
could never really decipher before.

My daughter is supposed to start school next week..... the board of ed here, gave me the wrong list of things required to get her signed up.
I have been stressing out all summer long trying to get this stuff together and JUST found out like ten minutes ago, that I only needed like
four things, and they were things that weren't even on the list that they gave me! Fortunately, I already had those things, but OMG! Seriously?
Do I really want her going to the schools here if they can't get their stuff straight? UGH, I wish I could just homeschool her.
I know, mistakes can be made....but I've been pulling my hair out all summer trying to get stuff done and begging for certain days off of work. I could have
had this done and over with 3 months ago! Grrrr!
-
Ok, I'm only partially on LoA. My better half got strep throat and decided to share the wealth, I think. So I'll be around some, but I can't even really think
straight enough to answer any RP's at the moment.
-
It's all good! We all need to do a little soul searching from time to time. Take your time, and don't rush things.
What you're looking for will come to you when you least expect it.
-
Yeah, see there is conflict there. If we get Kira, it'll be by accident. Ariani likes her.
-
Yes, please let us dye your teeth black! lol

Oh NOEZ! A Cairhienien! Ariani was a thief in the Foregate. An AS found her when she tried to pick her Warder's pocket! **hides**

OOC: Sorry so short. ;)
IC:
Out of the corner of her eye, Ariani spied another novice enter the garden. She recognized the girl as Erlene, her friend...the only friend
that she had dared to make at the Tower. She silently thanked the Creator for sending her down here, but pretended not to notice her entrance,
instead keeping her deep blue gaze fixed on the Aes Sedai. Erlene had been trying to teach her etiquette, but all they had managed so far was to
teach Ariani how to speak and how not to swear like a drunken sailor. As far as manners for a party such as this, she was still clueless. Thankfully,
Erlene would be here to deliver her shins a good swift kick under the table if she began making a fool of herself. Ariani's legs already ached at the
thought of it. Erlene was a tiny thing, but she was anything but weak.
-
"You'd be better off using the skillet as a shield and finding a well sharpened butcher's knife to use as a weapon,"
Ariani giggled as she said, "Maybe we'll find you a nice kettle as a helmet. You could join the Tower Guard." With
that statement, she fell into another fit of laughter.
Soon enough, the fit of laughter was over and she regained her composure. Light, but it was difficult to stop laughing
once it had gotten started. A slightly more serious look came across her face as Erlene explained her explosive temper,
but it was soon replaced by a playfully raised eyebrow and a roguish grin.
"I see," Ariani said with a tone as serious as she could manage, and then adding in a more sarcastic tone, "I can live with
that, as long as you can live with one of two things. You start yelling at me, and I show you your face in that miserable excuse
for a mirror again OR I douse you with cold water. Your choice." Her grin widened and she winked mischievously and started giggling again.
"Seriously, though. Done," she said, "But you'll have to understand too, I take my studies very seriously. To the point that, you are probably
the first person that I've said more than three words to, that I didn't have to speak with. Oh, and I am very blunt and to the point. I will tell you
what I think and I don't give a spit about how it comes out. I don't like to honey coat anything. I can, but I won't. So, fair warning."
-
I totally get it! :) I dragged my roomie into this too. Erlene. She's kind of a snob. lol **duck cower flee**
-
"Not very long, Loraine Sedai," Ariani replied as she chose honey for her tea, "I keep to myself mostly, and focus on what I am here to do."
She briefly turned her gaze to a patch of flowers near the table and then back to the Aes Sedai, "I am Ariani Cairawyn," she introduced herself
in a melodic tone.
could not hear the sounds of swordplay or the shouts from the trainees. It was a whole world within a world. Ariani sat back in her seat and allowed
a thoughtful expression to cross her face, returning her gaze to the Aes Sedai, she asked, "What is it that you do exactly? I mean, you cannot possibly
spend all of your time waiting for battle. There must be more to it than Warders and battle."
She briefly wondered if that question was too bold, but she dismissed the thought as quickly as it manifested, figuring 'Why not?'. She had become very
blunt and forceful during her time spent on the streets, and saw no reason to change it now. Besides, she was capable of coating her tongue with silver if it
was necessary, and in this place, there never seemed to be a need. She picked out a small cake and nibbled on it slowly as she awaited the Aes Sedai's response.
-
OOC: Ok, lol. I can't do the first thing that I wanted. I can't quit laughing. I don't know why. Erlene is just funny when she gets mad so, I'm probably about
to incite even more anger out of her.
IC:
Ariani watched Erlene erupt in anger and at first was shocked that someone so small could have such a temper. Then she remembered that she wasn't
very much taller herself and she lost her own temper quite often. Erlene looked almost hopped as she spoke, and her face...whether the girl realized it
or not, had turned bright red. The outburst somehow worked some of her hair loose from her head scarf and her knuckles had turned white from clenching
her fists. And then, just as suddenly as it had started, it was over. Erlene stood there with her arms folded and trying to blow a stray curl out of her face.
Ariani had just realized how silly she had to look during her own outbursts, and wondered briefly if Erlene had ever seen herself.
Ariani knew that she should probably be preparing for a brawl, Erlene's temper rivaled her own, but this....was just ridiculous. She starting laughing,
at first trying to stifle it, but giving up as soon as Erlene tried to blow that curl out of her face again.
"You," Ariani, started and then had to stop to fight off another fit of laughter, "I....haven't laughed like this in a long, long time. You have no idea."
Sitting down and wiping tears from her cheeks, she said, "If I had known that I looked like that when I got mad, I would have tried to tame my temper
sooner. You....."
She lifted her eyes back to Erlene who stood there looking less like an angry badger and more and more confused, "You have no idea what you look
like right now." Ariani picked up a mirror and held it out to the other girl.
I'm sorry," Ariani said through her laughter, "We can go bare knuckles if you want, but I'll warn you. I came here from the streets of the Foregate. I'm
not too bad. Or we can sit here and laugh at how silly both of us look right now."
