omg, I haven't seen this dancing bear in forever! An old friend of mine used to have it as her avatar on the Lost forum we were both on <3

Shouldn't it have been a dancing polar bear, then?

So, anyone feel like going a bit older style? Virginia Reel perhaps?

We used to do the Virginia Reel in elementary school. I was terrible at it!

  3. #13: What figure skating couple received a perfect score from every judge?

#14 What are the only two countries in the southern hemisphere to have won medals at the Winter Olympics?

#15: How many nations in the southern hemisphere have hosted the Winter Games?

#16: What is the only nation to win a gold medal at every Winter Olympics?

    Lol, none of these? :(

Gah! I missed that post somehow!

Yes, all three of those are also correct. Man, you are KILLING it!

    Point total:

    BFG: 6 Points

    Mashiara Sedai: 2 Points

Now I have to find more questions...

  5. Great suit, and a great color! Swing dancing sounds fun, but I'm old. Can we start with something slow?

I actually really like that song. I love the initial riff, and I really like the part where it changes at about the 2 minute mark. The Grateful Dead must have liked it too, because they stole it for Terrapin Station.

Well for me it was the 1984 Winter Olympics. I was head over heels in love with Scott Hamilton and he performed so well, doing a back flip on the ice and winning the gold medal. I remember watching it with my parents and recording it on our VCR so I could watch it over and over. haha!

Nadia Comaneci was my crush in 1976 and 1980. I suppose everyone has an Olympic crush at some point.

Sadly, the one that stands out most for me is the Summer Olympics of 1972 when the Israeli athletes were murdered. I was a kid and was leaving Germany with my parents the day it happened. We were at the airport.

I didn't realize we were of an age.

I was 8 and watched it in horror with my parents. That was terrible. I read that Golda Meir gave the order, and Mossad tracked down and killed every one of the terrorists in Black September, though. Every one of them, not that it would bring back a single athlete, but at least they were avenged.

  8. Having taken the oaths, I have cut my lifespan in half, but I should still have at least a couple hundred years left barring trolloc attacks or the like. I should most certainly have time. Shall we dance?

  9. The Soviet Union boycotted at least one Summer Olympics that I can recall, but no, neither Russia nor the former Soviet Union has ever boycotted the Winter Games. Good guess, though! That’s what I thought too until I read the answer.

  10. Okay, I can see that I'm making these too difficult. You may Google for the answers to the other questions, and I'll ask some easier ones instead.

#9 What are the four indoor Winter Olympic sports?

#10 Two teams push 42 pound stones across the ice towards a target. Matches consist of 10 ends, and during each end a team scores one point for every stone of theirs which is closer to the center of the target than all of the opponent's stones. The sport is ________ ?

#11 Which sport is a two-day event, combining both ski jumping and cross-country skiing?

#12 When was the last time that the Summer and Winter Olympics were held during the same year?

  11. Question #6: What is the only nation to have ever boycotted a Winter Olympics?

Question #7: Who is the only athlete to have won a gold medal in both the Winter and Summer Olympics?

Question #8: Which two Winter Olympic sports were first featured during Summer Games?
