  1. Walking into the busy hallways outside the Classroom, Satin paused to think about Saidar and it's wonders. Oh, she knew about it, of course. But did she ever think once about using it, let alone having it? Her life was set up to where she would join her Father at the Barrister's office and work along side him.

She looked at her shoes, followed up to her hem. The starkness of her dress signified her life, now. Suddenly she was shoved forward and nearly fell over. Behind her stood that sad Novice who just couldn't stand it that she could channel. Poor creature. She doesn't realize how handy this is going to be for her....

"Allrianne, its a surprise to me that you are holding yourself together at all." Her eyes glared at the girl. This time, she would not school her intense stare. "You are in such a rush to get clear of someone who can channel yet you stumble out into a hall full of young girls who may indeed, have that spark." She shook her head.

Just then another Novice came rushing up to her handing her a note. The girl was very short and very round. Her cheeks were hot and red. No doubt, she scuttled from some distance. She shoved the note into Satin's palm as if note deliveries were well beneath her, and scuttled off exactly the way she had come.

Satin looked at her hand, then to the girls behind her coming out of the Class room door. She wondered if they would have notes delivered.

She opened the note and to her surprise, the note accounted for all the girls in the class... The note said:

    Satin,

You and your classmates are to report to Mistress Wullamenia, in the Laundry. You and your class mates, will all be cleaning the tapestries from the Green and Brown Halls.

Report then, to Sherice Sedai in the Library to re-stack books.

Complete your tasks by the dinner hour.

    Halina Sedai,

    Sister of the White Ajah

  2. ... relaxed, calm, relaxed, calm, rela... There is was. The rose was fluidly being embraced by the smallest tendril of liquid sun. It slowly danced caressed each flower petals edge. It was like milk and honey at the same time, in the glowing warmth of the sun's light. It bathed the rose like a lover's glove.

But still, it felt far away from her and not a part of anything about her. She couldn't feel it like she has before. Her concentration went deeper and she, in her mind, reached her soul out to the flower.

The image waiverd, for a moment...  then it pulsed as she drew nearer. The ecstacy of it's potiential was near enough to make her laugh out loud. Something she had done less times in her life than smile.

  3. The moment the girl sat down Satin, reassessed her. She was far to dark of flesh to be from Tear. She must be from another area. Perhaps, Seafolk? Ah... Class instruction was just beginning.

Embracing Saidar... she had heard that term from a few Novices before now. She would try but...

She closed her eyes, she imagined a deep pink rose. She further imagined dew drops on the stem and peddal. Calm... relax... in and out she breathed slowly. She felt her hands slipping from the desktop and had to regain control all over again. She moved her hands to her lap as not to have a single distraction.

What was that noise? She peeped open her right eye. The timid girl beside her was making such aweful noises. Strangling and whimpering. Satin hoped no one else could hear it.

She shifted in her chair again and threw her entire soul into the void.

The pink rose. Its peddles so tight against one another. Silence fill her head and the beat of her heart began to slow and drawing air through her nose became its own sound of comfort. She was alone with the rose in the pitch black. It shown like a beacon of bright pink as the color intensified. The first peddle bagan to shift and then, another. She could feel her chest rise and fall slowly. But something else was happening. The rose was beginning to change color. Was that supposed to happen?

The rose turned blackish red and the dew on the rose changed to a bloody drop. As the blood began to seep down the rose's stem, Satin jolted out of the trance.

Here eyes were as wide as tea saucers. She tried to recover her vision, leaving such a black space, coming back into the light.

She exhaled deeply. What... what was that? The frown on her face didn't reveal much to anyone looking at her. She didn't betray her real feelings.

After a few moments, she began again. This was class and so she must get on with it. She moved her head around to relax her neck and began all over again.

  4. I am going with Elgee's delusions. She emailed me saying there was no Black Ajah. so.... *rotfl*

But I get you, I just don't want my character locked into "Oh yes, she's going black". *lol* Besides, I want read drama, where no one knows ... even me. *nods*

  5. Thanks, Elgee *G* I think I'll start a thread purdy soon with the two that have offered their do their reqs now, with me? KK?

I mean to fufill my requirement we need only to post 4 times, though I doubt that it will be that short. I think if we all start out at about the same time, we'll geeter-dun.  :D

  6. The young skittish girl, said her name was Allrianne but she wouldn't take her eyes off her Mentor and teacher, at the desk. The fear reeked from her skin.

She followed the girls eyes somewhat to read her fears. They were signs of a forced entry into the Tower. She hoped this girl would find her courage to be here, someday.

As soon as the girl in the doorway spoke, Satin's head came up and her back tightened. Tear. The always watched and ever present, neighbor to Mayene. The history was long, between their countries. Fortuantely, Mayene has no discerning accents to give away her State. She found this situation to be delicate. And she would make good use of it.

Jerinia's suggestion to find a seat prompted her to look for the desk she wanted. Middle I think. Where I can see everyone, including the teacher.

She gave the skittish young girl a hard moments stare and said. "I suggest you find your center and get used to this. It is your life now."

She made her way to her seat, and eyed the girl who had just talked to Jerinia. So as not to draw attention, she looked to Jerinina and remembered the blue dot.

  7. Not sure that will happen at all. Satin is in conflict in her soul and mind but that hasn't sealed her fate. I decided to let her work through this in RP's to see where this character ends up. I want as much drama as I possibly can get out of it. *nods* But at the moment she's definately not leaning that way.

    ;)

  8. Cool.  ;) Specifically it says that "I" must organize an RP. So, if you both participate then does that qualify you?

Novice life, would be our daily routines, chores, classes and scoping out friendships and cliques and running into an Aes Sedai or two, right? Any other ideas? I think free run RP's are cool but I don't want us to get lost in the RP *lol* Us, meaning... me. :p

  9. Satin could see that this young girl, certain believed her fears. "If Aes Sedai wanted to kill you, you would be dead already, wouldn't you agree? There now," Satin gave her a firm and guiding hand that moved her into the room, following right behind.

"If you die in the next few minutes, then you can say, I told you so." She gave the girl a nod. "Come now, what is your name?" The girl seemed nervous and unsteady so she thought to keep her in conversation.

  10. Satin watched her mentor walk away thinking that she would be a good teacher for her for life lessons. She also knew she couldn't be that much fun to anyone and thought she needed to open herself up to more activities. Perhaps this would be good training, as well.

She knew herself too well. Stoic, sodden, unapproachable, and dreary... But she knew that inside her soul she was searching for something to spark her deep interest and fan the flames in those darker places. In there, life was waiting.... but waiting for what? She shook her head slightly as to come out from a trance and started her journey back to her room in the Novice Quarters

    Who Am I, really?

  11. Satin eyes, the fidgety young girl as the Accepted turned an quickly marched off. Satin's stare usually offended others but she had been practicing not to stare so intently. She moved her eyes back to the door, and reached to open it, "You had better go in first," She wasn't really asking her, not in the tone of voice she used.

  12. Satin felt a moment of relief, to know that Jerinia had helped her to calm intensity, while having a conversation with ... well, anyone. So far, she had been fortunate to not meet up directly with any Aes Sedai. Her goal to get through her Novice-hood without incident was a high-set goal but her determination was very strict. She could thank her father for that.

The stories that Jerinia told her about her clumsiness, and unlucky moments made for good uses to her. She would be more careful and find the boundaries that she need not cross. It never occurred to her that this intent was anything but about her own preservation. She could care less who she impressed.

"I am sorry that you have had to endure such mishaps. Perhaps you could take a little more time when, working your way through your day? I have had a few mishaps myself, slipping into the pond....  all because my attention was not on my goal, whatever it was." Satin's advice was weak and she even believed as she was saying it that Jerinia, full well knew what she really needed to do, though fortune does no smile on us all.

"I have high hopes for you Jerinia, I suspect you will be Aes Sedai in no time. Regardless of your.. mishaps." She loosed a small smile that faded as quickly as it came.

"As far as needing any more help, then night is upon us and I know my classes are begining in the next day or so. It will be l pleasure to have you teach them. Congratulations on that, as well." She softly touched Jerinia's hand and was somewhat shocked by the expression of doing it, but let it pass.

"It is long past my bed time. I am sure I'll have many question in the future." No real thank you escaped her but a simple nod was what she gave.

She rose with Jerinia to take her leave.

    Break in the Ice

  13. I am pretty sure she's planning on beating me at some point. *lol*

She had good enough reason for me just not choosing to go Green.

My Character is meeting with Eqwina and Raeyn for the first time.

    >>

    <<

I think they'll beat me too. Or is that just the Novice fear in me? *lol*

  14. Satin was pulled around in a whirl so quickly that she felt a sense of imbalance for just a mere second or two.

The woman who had pulled her to attention had that perfect Aes Sedai air about her, and the curtsying came naturally. Even though this was her first week in the Tower, Satin had the curtsy down pat.

Immediately, her focus drew her to look into the woman's dazzling green eyes to realize, that she towered over her. Satin had never been one to point out the obvious and wouldn't do it even now. She was quite certain, this woman was much taller than her height suggested.

Standing up from her curtsy as instructed by the woman, she tried not to stare with the intensity she was trying to break. The fringed Yellow shawl was indicitive of the Aes Sedai, to present Ajah. She would try hard to one day, have one herself.

"I beg pardon, Aes Sedai. I hope I did not offend you? I wanted to avoid hearing your private conversation." She inclined her head briefly. "My name is Satin sur Amoura, Aes Sedai." she realized then she would only learn her name when she was Aes Sedai, ready.

"I am done with my lesson for today, and I am exploring the Tower to know my way better and to be as punctual as I can. I am not due for chores for an hour, yet."

Satin began her evasive study of the woman, to learn of quirks and personality. She would catalog it for later reference, as usual.

    Steady as she goes..

  15. The halls were wider than the Magistrate's courts of law, in Mayene and she supposed there were always bigger places than the Magistrate's but, she didn't think she would see them. Satin would hope to become used the the Tower's vastness in good time. Finding her way through the halls and to her room took her a few days but, between classes she made sure to wander a little further every day and to make herself find her way back to her room.

This day, she quizzed a few wide eyed novices who had been here for some time, to figure out the floor plan... if one could say that in any measure. Not everyone had been everywhere. It was know that some places were just plainly, off limits to Novices and Accepted. So much as she could, she made mental notes of what was said.

Satin like to be sure of herself; it was her security. She knew the hall that she faced was the Novice quarters and that taking a right in the next annex she would be somewhere she had never been. So, she ventured to the cross halls and turned left.

She had gone about a 100 feet when she could see another hall section. The closer she got, she could begin to hear hushed voices. She didn't want to eves drop, so turned to leave. Two steps into her retreat and there came a light grip on her shoulder. It startled her but she kept her composure.
