  1. The notes was unconsiously crumpled in her hand as she turned to stride towards the Laundery as instructed. The Tapestries would be there for beating and scrubbing, if they were indeed that dirty. Satin was not the best housekeeper. The chores in their house were always done by young village girl who were hired by mother. They weren't always the same girls either. Just when Satin was about to begin investigating the newest girl, she would never return.

The trip down the hallway was not serene or even exciting. Katiana's rebellious nature againt all that was not her idea, stormed down the hallway ahead of everyone else. Satin thought she would be a great case study but she knew she would have no time for it today.

The Halls were tall and wide. The beauty of the White Tower was as held within the stonework. Each hallway has some type of image work on the walls, if not a picture, it was a tapestry. Each told some kind of story and one day another would be added. Hopefully hers.

It always seemed to her that going anywhere in the Tower was a journey. By the time they had gone floors below, the group of girl were staggering at different lengths behind Katiana. Satin was in no hurry to best her pace because she felt that no matte where she was, she was by herself.

  2. Satin woke that morning to a freshly cleaned Novice dress. She had spent a while on her shoes before she went to bed to be sure that she presented herself properly.

    Everything in its place.

    A place for everything.

Part of destiny is written in the the weave of the pattern, just like this. No matter what her life had been like with that aweful woman who had raised her, she would make this life, her own without any influences from her. Again, Father came to her mind to cloud out all thoughts of her mother. Father was all that there was in her life and be damned if that, "woman" would tear out all the love and fondness she had in her heart.

She dressed and combed her hair. Washed her face and cleaned her teeth with the gritty rock salt from the jar and spat out the after taste.

One look in the mirror revealed that she was properly ready for the next class. Grabbing her tablet and small quill she pulled open the door to the flurry of Novices rushing to and fro. Some red faces hot in their attempts to be on time. Some giggling in groups as they danced along. Satin perferred the solitude for her thoughts and allowed for her to study people without chitter from someone else.

She arrived at the classroom door and went in. Her Mentor, Jerinia was to teach again. Impressive.

She curtsied and gave her a smallish grin and went to the center, front seat to await class to begin.

  3. Satin couldn't help but to jump with the sudden slap she heard. At first she didn't realize where she was. She was still in the aura after releasing the Saidar, she felt like clawing her way back to it, greedily. She finally turned to the disturbance and with a 'tsk' and a frown.

Its not like she hadn't touched the power before, but never in this way. It was... the Creator's own love... it just had to be.

Her Mentor was on bended knee speaking to the girl that had lost control. She admire her mentor at that moment for her ability to not lose control and slap her silly.

Yet... the presence of Saidar seemed to be calling to her, strangely. Once it was gone it was said that we would have remorseful feelings, briefly but this wasn't what she thought it should be. She felt something else, like being, compelled. She shook it off for first day jitters and focused on her classmates. They were all irritated at the outburst, waiting to get back to either their rooms or out of the Tower for good.

  4. Spending time with an Aes Sedai is usually a rare moment but to spend this much time with an Aes Sedai was not heard of unless you were getting a list of chores. Satin was certain that before this chat was over, she would be doing just that.

She seemed a pleasant woman but who really could know an Aes Sedai? It is said that even the girls they grew know and share everything with, are no more. That bond is replace by their Sister of their Ajah, if they are lucky. This last week had revealed a lot of rumor, fact and fiction.

Eqwina Sedai began her next set of investigative questions. Satin recognized the intentions, but not the motive.“You say that Aes Sedai came to retrieve you? That leads me to believe that you are a special child indeed, to have Sister’s so concerned with your arrival? “

Satin could only tell her the truth of it. "The two Aes Sedai were familiar. Throughout the years my mother entertained many, though some of them disguised themselves and would remove their gold ring," Satin glanced at Eqwina's hand momentarily as if to confirm it on her. "Many were not very nice to me. Some were very interested. A few even seemed to prompt me to use the One Power a time or two. I've no idea why... it was forbidden in my Father's House, to use it. My Mother seemed to relish in the tampering of it. My mother seemed to trade me off to them for favors. I was not interested in why, my presence there was a requirement. It brought me no joy."

A moments pause and Eqwina asked, “Do you know much about the different Ajah’s and there purposes?”

Satin thought on it for a moment... "Only by coming here did I realize there was a difference. The women," Satin cleared her throat, "Pardon Aes Sedai, I meant the Aes Sedai that visited us always seem to have the same purpose. However, thought that is odd now that I think back to it..."

As they passed through the halls for a time and the tapestries seemed to change in both color and mood. This hallway was unfamiliar to her as she looked ahead, maintaining what appeared to be a practiced, "Aes Sedai" calm.

"It is unlike me to tell the story of my life, Aes Sedai. I do not do well with it and I am not that social. I keep to myself and keep my thoughts to myself, most times. But anything you would ask of me, I am prepared." Little did Satin know, what she was really saying.

  5. The note was scribbled at best. Aes Sedai must have so much to do in their daily lives that they have no time for penmanship? Though Satin didn't much show anything on her face she did let out a sigh.

She turned to face her classmates as she noticed that a more notes were delivered, to a few of them. A single brow rose as she she turned to spy Katiana coming towards them, with a scowl to befit a Queen on her face. She watched as she sqeezed by them and into the classroom.

She would love to be a fly on the wall right about now. What great human/character study this would be.

Revealing that they too were instructed to go to the Green Halls beat the tapestry would mean two things. Even after completing this task... they had to go then, to the Browns Hall. She looked at each in turn realizing they were in white. Her head shook slowly, "I can see that we'll be washing our whites, this evening."

The girl, Kembial had a good point. She placed the note in her side pouch as the all did. They were minus two girls yet. The note did say.. "you and your classmates." No need to second guess an Aes Sedai. That mean all of them.

"I've explored the Tower a bit in the last week. I know where they are. Not that I've been down them." She lowered her chin giving them that "knowing" look.

She eyes the doorway again. Without realizing, her foot began to tap. The night would waste away and dinner would be very late.

  6. *fishes for my spare binkie in my pocket*

What?? Satin is very young. *ggls*

Besides, the Black Ajah *spits* cannot exist. If Jade isn't Black *spits*

Then there is no Black *spits*

    *sideways glance at Jade*

    *sniff*

    *ggles inwardly*

I'd better wipe up that gooey mess on the floor 'afore someone falls on it and pokes their eye out.

  7. As to be expected, Satin was completely available to any Aes Sedai at her bidding to do any tasks or errand. Willingly, Satin traveled down the halls with the talkative woman, listening with interest to what she had to say.

The questions fired off quickly and she did her best to answer them as fast as they came, "No, no... I am not opposed, Aes Sedai. What errands did you need me to perform?" The Aes Sedai's face seemed be that of a perfect... well, maybe a 25 year old? It was always hard to tell with them. She supposed that she too, would be ageless in her days ahead.

The quirk of the woman's eyebrow told Satin of an undercurrent to the woman's mask. No matter what the current was, Satin had come to grips that to talk to an Aes Sedai was to avoid transgressions with her. They all had masks. Satin was sure of one thing if any, you never knew what they really wanted or thought.

Too bad she couldn't ask her all the things she wanted... her list was long.

The walk to her quarters and still she had no clue of what she was to do. Yet, the questions still kept coming. “So, have you been in the Tower long Satin? Its been more years than I care to share, but I remember how wide eyed I was when I arrived. I’d never been in anything larger than a village and to me the Tower was the grandest palace in the world.”

"I've been in the tower for less than two weeks, Aes Sedai. And yes, it is the grandest of Palaces. I too have only seen smaller estates compared to this. One day I may look back on my life here, with the same fondness."

She was wise for her years in many ways, but not of the Tower. She was a fast study and would hope to leap milestones in her rise to the Shawl. But now was the time to perfect her regard to someone who was the honor of already earning that Shawl.

Satin wanted to know who this woman was. During their walk she began to wonder... Not all Aes Sedai had the time or the patience to talk with a Novice unless it was a class experience. Half listening she barely heard her last comment.

"Sorry Aes Sedai, I was thinking back to my Saidar Class today. Your question about my trip here made me think of it. I came with two Aes Sedai. One was a Blue sister and the other a Brown. They were apparently.... invited to my Father's house to retrieve me as requested by my Mother." Satin's brow took a dip. The more she talked about her mother the more she wanted to forget her.

She silently reprimanded herself as she lost control over her last few words, as her teeth began to clench. She had hoped the Aes Sedai didn't notice it and quickly changed the subject.

"Aes Sedai, if may I ask..." She turned towards the woman, "What name do you go by?"
