It's good seeing you back in here. :)

I'm in the middle of Moonraker by Ian Fleming.

Wasn't Finding Dory from last year?

I wish our convention center was large enough to hold a con. I am starting to think I am never going to be able to attend one
The convention center does have a con; it's the Buffalo Comicon. I think UB also hosts an annual con. If neither of those work for you, you could try googling for something in Rochester. Searching Rochester con or Rochester scifi con should do the job.

I could have done without
Dolores turning out to be Wyatt. We had Bernard really be Arnold, William really be the Man in Black, do we really need another "X was really Y all along" twist? One is a good surprise, two is still interesting, three is beating the trope into the ground.

Future seasons?
That's what I think the samurai were meant to accomplish. Maybe next year has a feudal Japan world.

Nol, have you seen the original movie from the '70s? Cindy and I watched it last week and thought it was good. I'd never seen it before, although she had.
One story aspect that has been left out of the show was that the amusement park has other settings besides the Old West. I'm wondering if the show intends to work them in someday.

Just beginning this one. Enjoying it so far.

On a side note, some of the more knowledgeable people on DM on the subject of comics and their adaptations aren't BT members. Or at least not currently active ones. So the people that I can think of being the best able to explain this stuff are least likely to see this thread.

So I looked up Nick Fury but I was too tired to read it all. He was also in the WWII? How did he survive? His powers is to heal quickly? What side is he on?
The movie version of Nick Fury was never in WWII. So far as I know, he has no powers at all and he is on the side of the good guys.

Groot is some kind of tree man?
Thanks, Basel. Who is your favorite?
I saw the Capten America Civil War trailer and it looks interesting.
Pretty much Groot is a sentient tree. All he ever says is I am Groot.
I don't really have a favorite. And I'm having trouble caring much about the Civil War movie. I'm not that enthusiastic about a movie based on good guys fighting each other. Good guys don't fight each other and IMO that should be a rule.

You might like Guardians of the Galaxy. It's a good comedy adventure that doesn't require much understanding of the rest of the Marvel universe.
And you basically have the rights issues correct. Marvel sold off some of their rights before it was clear how big movies based on comics would become, and it wasn't till later that they decided to form a studio and adapt their own properties.

Okay, I wasn't expecting Davros.

Supposedly, Missy is back for the first episode. Maisie Williams is coming over from GoT for a guest spot at some point. And they've announced that River is going to be on this year's Christmas special.
Hopefully the writing will be better than last year.

I'm watching Tomorrow Never Dies with the director's commentary. My parents gave me the full Bond box set a few Christmases ago, but up until today I've never watched any of the commentaries on it.

Last night I had the pleasure to show Cindy The Usual Suspects, which I consider one of the bestest movies in the entire history of film. I refused to tell her the ending, but she guessed it anyway (sooner or later).

And here is a fireplace.

It's a nice, warm blanket.
