I was expecting the Raiders to be more of a challenge today.

So in the last year and a half since the move from Buffalo, I've been trying to wrap my brain around how people in areas without a team of its own choose their favorite team. This area for the most part seems evenly divided between Giants and Bills fans (logical, since both are about equidistant), I have encountered a few Eagles fans, and there's also allegedly some Jets fans that I've never actually seen. But I'm also seeing a greater proportion of people following teams that are nowhere near this area compared to what I encountered back home. Are people just throwing a dart at a map, or what?

Dormer is a really good actress, but I think at 35 she'd be too old for those roles (except maybe Birgitte, I can't recall how old she is physically) if they wanna stay true to the characters.

The Bills game this week was typical Buffalo. Even back during the Marv Levy era, we would often beat the best teams in the league, and get big heads and overconfident and lose to the pathetic teams. And things haven't changed.

I've built random things with blocks and Legos. That's about it.

Yup. 10 books.
I've read most other things he's written (last books of WoT (of course), both Mistborn series and Elantris), and the Stormlight Archive is certainly shaping up to be absolutely awesome so far.
Also, I know there's quite a bit of stuff known about the cosmere (in which all of BS's own works are written), and I'm starting to think that most of that comes from the Stormlight Archive, as there were only very little hints about it in Mistborn and Elantris, if that much, while the Stormlight Archive mentions it by name and has some references that I think are going to be expanded upon, which I am very much looking forward to as I want to know more about how BS's universe is built up.
Not all of Sanderson's solo work is in the Cosmere. The Reckoners trilogy isn't. The Alcatraz series isn't. Nor are Legion or The Rithmatist.

Well, I don't like to look a gift horse in the mouth, but Atlanta got royally shafted today.

They're getting ready to do a safety dance
... because they are Men Without Hats.

Did the gold one taste like metal?
No, it tastes like Golden Delicious. It's basically meant to capture the flavor of a specific variety of apple.

Buffalo had an excellent defense today. The offense was godawful. Defense might win championships, but winning games requires actually scoring points too.

Last night I had Blake's Flannel Mouth with my dinner. At the beer store I saw a six-pack from the same company flavored with orange peel and cherries. I really wanted to try this, but accidentally grabbed the wrong item... same company, similar packaging. What I got is a 6.5% alcohol cider that seems to be plain apple with no added flavors. I found it surprisingly good given that it's in cans and not bottles. I'd buy it again.
As for favorite, Strongbow has some good flavors although I find their classic original cider to be too dry. Woodchuck is very good and remains my favorite overall.

I know the Virgin Islands have suffered heavy devastation. One of my FB friends has a daughter at the University in St. Thomas that is currently missing. The pictures coming out of the VI are just horrifying. All the cell towers have been toppled so there is just about no communication with the outside. And the next hurricane is supposed to hit them too.

Canadians, being a sensible, refined people, speak American English.
But write with British spelling.

American football season starts in just a few days. That is all.

I think Cory is right about Aegon being merged into Jon, and in the books, his name probably won't even come up as an issue.
*looks at Ben funny* Ummm, I was the one who said that.

ANd why would they name him Aegon, Rhaegar ALREADY HAD A SON NAMED AEGON
Did they establish that Rhaegar and Elia named one of their kids Aegon in the show? The show is well past the point when Aegon showed up in the books and turned out to be alive. I'm taking this Jon revelation to mean that they're merging a different character into Jon's show version and book-Aegon will be left out altogether. Also guessing that the books will either have his real first name be something different or it won't even be mentioned that his frst name isn't really Jon.

Haven't they been doing cold opens since the show began? I can remember being struck very early on by how the theme music began at the end of the cold open, a second or two before the opening credits.
