Ok, I came into the game a little late, getting hooked on season 2 of Project Runway without having seen season 1. I didn't like season 3 as much as the first two, I liked that season 1 was so low budget, and I really liked some of the designers on season 2 (Nick, for example). Season 3 had ups and downs, but didn't quite hook me the way the first two did.

Top Chef is alright, but since I can't taste the food it's hard to tell if I agree with the judges or not... and it makes me hungry :)

So, new to the game is "Top Design." What do y'all think of the concept? Is Bravo oversaturating the "intellectual reality competition" market? What sorts of challenges do you think there might be?

Me, I'm not sure... when something feels formulaic I get both bored and annoyed. I'm willing to give it a shot, but I just don't really think there's a way to top Tim Gunn.

you know how I answered.

It seems they will be trying to rehash Trading Spaces, except with judges. It is like a combo of Trading Spaces and American Idol..... err... Trading Idol or something. What? Empy needs a nap.

I don't really watch any reality tv, don't follow it anyway. Unless you consider stuff like The Dog Whisperer or American Chopper reality TV, but it isn't really. Those are more of a documentary series than reality TV, cos' there are no contests and stuff. Personally I think they should call it unreality tv, because it's usually about as far removed from any realistic situation as you can think. I did used to watch MTV's Real World back in the day.. I think I followed the second or third one when it was knew.

I did watch that "Reality" show that was really a big prank though... The one where the bride and groom had to convince their friends and family that they were getting married to win money, but really it was just the girl who had to becuase the guy was an actor paid to make it tough on her and make her miserable.. The title was a rip off of 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' but I can't remember exactly what it was... "My big fat geeky fiance" or something like that...

yeah, I know which one you're talking about, but I didn't watch it, too annoying for me!

Here's a link to an extended preview for Top Design. To me it seems more interesting than Trading Spaces, because TS is kinda hokey, and the result is just people crying because they have ducks displayed on the wall or whatever... I think I like the competition element. And the Bravo ones are generally well produced. I'm interested to see what it will be like. http://www.bravotv.com/Top_Design/videos/index.php?id=50058

yeah, I think I like a little bit of people story, but not overboard on people story. *sigh* it just won't replace Project Runway for me though, I'm pretty sure of that.

Didja hear the rumor that Tim Gunn might not be on season 4 of PR! Travesty!!!
