I'm missing a lot of actions. Most of what I'm missing is whether you guys have had something stolen from you, been targeted, etc.

Please make sure to send me any such info if you haven't done that (in PM). I'm having a hard time coordinating 40 PM threads and my excel sheet has some holes.

Thanks for your help guys, I'm starting to get a quite good view.

There are several players who haven't sent in any sort of action ye (or I just can't see the forest for the tree). Uncertain as whether I should share their names at this moment. I think I'll share them for sure in about 5-6h when I get home (still at work, then out with a friend for snooker).

Checking in and see that I'm trapped.  Not cool.

Looking through the thread I think somebody asked about me having an alt.  I don't have one, but I did replace in.

@Hyde - The previous Dr. Coffin was frustrated townie.  You said you wanted some answers but never actually asked me any questions.  Do you have any questions for me?

vote, release myself from trap

So if you haven't been released from the trap, you would have wanted to penalize town? You do realize that if you're town, you win with town regardless of whether you survive, right?

Calling shots might work, but they shouldn't be called on thread. I also believe that the more actions, the better chance of tracking them (more information).

We'll need to consider your example. It's not easy to coordinate as we don't know who the maffia are (and thus whom to trust with what actions).

Really?!?!  OMG thanks for teaching me this!  I had no idea how mafia worked!  You're my hero.

Now be quiet.  You know that somebody had access to my actions and info, and could have shared it I was caught stealing from WD last night.  Don't play coy with me.

If scum are just targeting somebody and if they steal, they can be caught.....we'll need to figure that out.  It could be as simple as stealing from scum gets you caught.....but I'm not sure.  That detail is pretty key to my plan.  If we set up our actions and layer it with tracks, watches, cop views, we should be able to methodically go through the game.  But we need to find Fred.  He's my best guess for having the keys to the van.

What do people think of that?

I asked DPR if stealing from scum get's you killed. He said no.

You guys let Space Kook off the hook too easily.  I'm 75% certain he is scum.

We have full night actions from everyone but 4 people.  Guess who the mafia are??

You have my actions.  Wanna try your math again?

Right, so then the scum must have to target their steal.  If we have a setup of Cop views and steals and we ensure all mirrors are gone, we can trust viewings and hopefully catch scum trying to get somebody caught.  If we limit the steals, they'll have to target those people to attempt anything.  This will tighten the noose for them - if they do nothing, they are eventually viewed and lynched.  If they act, we potentially catch them with watchers/trackers.

Scum probably have to set traps to catch people stealing.  But, it looks like more goodies will be coming from the van, which means that a) we won't know if the mirrors respawn and b) we won't know what other tools exist.  I would say we treat cop views with 90% trust at first and that we try to coordinate watchers.

I think you're overselling your plan as too certain to work.

Kook, do you have any questions for me to release me from the trap?

No, but I'm leery of scum putting a town and themselves into the trap and see if they can use that momentum to coast a member to endgame.  I'm town, so I'm a little hesitant that you might not be.  If I was scum, I would have tried this.

Oh yeah?  I think you need to read a little closer.

Is this plan crap? Maybe. But it is a plan, and I've yet to see one I think is better.

Stealing from scum doesn't get you killed.  Unless the scum set up a trap on the scum you tried to steal from.

My belief on how the scum role works is like this:

Scum can set a trap [or some similar mechanism like a cop view or watch] on 1 or 2 players per night.

If the person the trap was set on is visited, that person that targeted that subject is captured.

Example:

Scum says "set trap on Player A and Player B" [they can set traps on either alignment].

Player X visits Player B

Player X is arrested and demasked

If no one visits Players a or B, no one is captured.

So this is why night actions are a double edged sword.  In theory, you can cop view someone.  BUT - that really doesn't mean much given all the mirrors in the game.

I'm confused by all the mirror talk.  What if there was only 1 mirror in the game?  What if every action is mirrored?  How is it that you seem to have a grasp on how many mirrors there actually are?

Posted

Ok - this isn't a big state secret.  There were at least 3 mirrors in play [and as many as 5] at any given point - depending on the reliability of the self-action reporting.  We are sorting through their theft and use as well as we can to determine if anyone besides Wax and I are actually confirmably verified Town.

I agree.  But that means (like I said) we need to either get the mirrors used up and out of the game, or all in the hands of 1 or 2 people so we can know.  I'd say you and BikiniWax are probably the ones to hold mirrors.

I'm town.  So either you're lying or scum didn't do it.

Posted

I didn't say it for you.  I said it for everyone else.  Because a bunch of people didn't vote me to be released but voted you so it would make sense if they were your scum mates.

Posted

I'm not stealing so I can avoid being captured.  Having conf Town alive is more important than a chance at capturing scum as opposed to just finding the people lying about their night actions.

If anyone tries to steal from Wax or me, then we know scum can steal because Town should never be visiting us.  So we should make sure that's out there.

I'm not sure why Space Kook is all of a sudden up in business.  Good lord, you get bear trapped and suddenly you're Kook the Messiah.

As for this ChArLiE lynch - why is everybody wasting their time on this poor soul when pTeRo is known scum?

And several other things:

1) Where the dump is The Black Knight?

2) Ever wonder why Wax Phantom is so adamant about not holstering?  Sure he tries to make a good point out of it, but if using actions is the only way for scum to catch us innocents, and Waxface wants us to use them instead of holstering.....What's he worried about, having to scum hunt the ol' fashioned way instead of using all these sophisticated gadgets and doodads?

3) I look good, really good, in a deep vee

4) Mantis, what if I want to visit for tea?
