Rules:

 

1. DO NOT USE THE ALT ACCOUNTS ANYWHERE BUT ON THIS THREAD, OR IN PM"S TO EACH OTHER. If you do by mistake, because it can happen, report it to a mod to delete.

2. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. 

3. Votes should be BOLDED - no color necessary. 

4. Unvote before you re-vote.

5. Edit all you want.

6. Feel free to PM each other.

7. Don't even think about quoting anything I send you.

8. Days will last 72 hrs. Nights 24. Weekend allowances will be made.

9. Play however you like. Be as active or inactive as your heart desires. Employ any technique you choose.

10. Don't make anything personal. Ever.

11. If you have ANY real problem with another player, PM ME FIRST. That's what I'm here for.

12. This is reverse mafia, so the good guys are actually the mafia. Just so you know.

13. PM me with questions - it's a bit elaborate, but nothing this crowd can't handle. I'll make things clear whenever possible.

 

The Scooby Gang is hiding among you. The Villains only chance to stay out of jail is to find them and finally get back at those darn teenagers.

SETUP:

 

Phase 1:

 

27 alts were created. We ended up 23 players (5 mafia + 18 Town).

 

Each Townie received a PM with a 1x Cop, Mirror, Tracker, Watcher or Magistrate role. There were no docs and no killing roles.

 

The mafia had no kill, but could direct three "policemen" to watch over three players. Anyone targeting those players got "arrested". This only applied to the first player to target each watched player (timestamp).

 

I was floored that no arrests were made for the first three nights! I never expected that.

 

The mafia also started with the "null vote" ability.

 

The idea of this was to promote strategy over straight-up killing, and to throw a few different dynamics out there to hopefully enhance playstyles.

 

I did award three "suits" to the top Town posters, and one to the Mafia. I was all kinds of curious to see what people would do with these. it was interesting. 

 

Player communication was not restricted. Player participation was not enforced. 

 

Phase 2: 

 

The Mafia all gained Bear Traps and the +1 vote against other players. If there had been a few more "arrests" and fewer Mafia lynches, the Mafia had fully utilized the ability to Bear Trap leverage against a rush vote, they could have devastated with this. I always planned on the Mafia being outed early through communication among the Town and the different role PM's and wanted it to turn into a situation where pure strategy and timing would win the game.

 

The Town received extra roles, primarily designed to promote the above (Flashlight), but also to offer another Town way to trap and kill (Stunt-Double) to balance out the up-votes. Had the Town been working together, this could have been devastating to the Mafia.

 

Phase 3:

 

Would have occurred if the Piñata had been lynched. There were all new roles to be dispersed, but I'll never tell what they were. I've never actually run the same game twice, but I like to keep a few surprises in case I ever decide to.

 

If I did run it again, I would tweak the following:

 

1. Have co-mods to monitor all player communications to keep things focused and friendly.

2. have co-mods to help keep track of and double-check roles/timestamps.

3. Release a bit more information about the game in advance so that players have a greater ability to employ strategy - there is lots of room for this.
