She just could not believe it! After the trip they had, and before thier friendship could even abound, Cairma felt a stab at her as she watched Lyssa leave Aran's room. Jealousy flared from a deep part of her that she was becoming more and more familiar with. It was no surprise to her that Aran slept with anouther woman. Women, in fact. But that lackof surprise didn't change how much she truely wanted to deny it. She couldn't let go of that childish crush that she denied herself, and others from knowing enough to get that ugly green envy monster down under her thumb. There was no doubt that she envied the women that Aran claimed. And it wasn't just for the sex..

Shoving her clothes into a small satchel, sne picked up the last of her things. Room assignment had changed and she was going to be housed with anouther Tower Guard in a different section of the barracks. Light, please be a female!. But as luck had it, after she put a few of her things away beside the unclaimed bed, it took three guesses not counting the first two to know who would be walking in as her new roomate.

Lyssa worked the forms, her movements fluid and smooth, she had improved much since she had been taken under the wing of Aran and several others. She was no confident in her own abilities and had learned a sense of herself and her skills as a person. Lys knew she wasn't perfect but she forever strode for it and hoped one day to be a good enough to be bonded and to maybe even die for the the cause she believed in. She chuckled and shook her head, she was totally avoiding the scene this morning, thinking about the glory days isn't going to stop what happened or change it. A grimace slide across her face as she brought the lathe to low on one of the forms, she wasn't paying enough attention to be doing this, she either needed to lose herself in the Void until she forgot everything that had happened or she needed to head back to her rooms and do something else.

Deciding that neither of those would work right now she put the lathe away and began stretching, getting ready to run, if she ran until the sweat poured off of her than maybe she would be able to crash and forget her mother and maybe if she was asleep her mother wouldn't come in and chop her head off and if she did than she at least wouldn't feel it. She began running and before to much time had passed was covered in sweat. When she was finished she cooled down and walked back into the barracks, she had been running for well over an hour and her legs were straining with it. Walking into her room she was a little surprised to see Cairma standing in her rooms, she glanced at her and then smiled, "How can I help you Cairma?"

The innocence on the girls face was only an added prickle to Cairma's high strung emotions. If one didn't know she was a virgin, no thanks to Aran, they would think she was in need of getting laid or some other form of sexual tension release. However, none of her frustration was sexual at all, it was more violent, very violent.

"How can you help me?" Cairma gritted her teeth. "Haven't you done enough damage, you selfish wretch?" Her voice nearly boiling over in anger as it poured through her veins. With each word Cairma's voice gained a touch of hysterics. "And now i have to share a room with a bloody traitor. How could you, Lyssa?!"

"How can you help me? Haven't you done enough damage, you selfish wretch?" Lyssa blinked at the woman and took a step back, what in the Light is her problem, how dare she come into my room and treat me like this. I thought we were starting be friends, I thought I was breaking through that wall of hers but now this. Again Cairma's eyes glinted at her with anger, "And now i have to share a room with a bloody traitor. How could you, Lyssa?!" Lys shook her head, thinking she had imagined those words, she had never had a roommate before, always by herself and now she was to have a roommater, and not just any roommate but Cairma. Stepping forward she spoke very softy, "Your my new roommate? I've never had a roommate, well this ought to be interesting. Do you want help moving your things in and such. I will need to move my things around to make room for yours."

She walked slowly over to her bed and sat down on it, curling her legs underneath her, though she was tensed in case the woman attacked. Lys had seen her in action and had heard stories, she knew exactly what kind of damage this woman could do. The woman also had no problems swinging that very large sword at people or at trees or anything else. Luckily the giant sword wasn't in site but it could be under the bed or something, so she would stay aware but try and appear relaxed. "So what do you mean I am a traitor, there must be something I am not understanding. Though I am not a big fan of being called a wench I will forgive you for that. Would you please explain to me what's bothering you?"

The girl not only had no idea what Cairma was so angry with her, nor that she was assigned a new bunkmate. Taking a deep breath, rathional thoguth slowly started to take over as the girl started with the easiest topic and then once again, she had the nerve to ask...

"I saw you. Walking out of Aran's Quarters." She glared. "So you decided to make yourself anouther notch in his bed post? Even after you knew... " her eyes closed for a moment and then re-opened. "You are lower than low, Lyssa. You were my friend, and I trusted you with the simple knowledge that I love... " she caught herself. She would NOT say it out loud. Not here.. "You better give be a bloody good reason why if you wished to keep that pretty face of yours and all of your limbs. I'm sure that there is something that the Aes Sedai can not heal."

Lyssa hoped the woman would just stop with her attitude but things weren't to go the way she wanted, Cairma glared at her and began to speak again, "I saw you. Walking out of Aran's Quarters. So you decided to make yourself anouther notch in his bed post? Even after you knew... " Anger surged through her at those words but she took several calming breaths, she now knew exactly what was wrong with her friend, and it was her relationship with Aran, if you could call it that she thought. "You are lower than low, Lyssa. You were my friend, and I trusted you with the simple knowledge that I love... You better give be a bloody good reason why if you wished to keep that pretty face of yours and all of your limbs. I'm sure that there is something that the Aes Sedai can not heal." Lyssa gained her feet and glared right back at the woman, her hands curled into fists, she wouldn't fight Cairma, she cared about her and the woman was much stronger and wiser than her.

So she would have to figure out a way to cool her own anger and not try and take Cairma down a peg or two. On top of that she also had to figure out how to keep Cairma from killing her. "How could you even say that Cairma, I love him. You know that, I may have loved him as long as you have and it's not fair for you to act like you own him or like I shouldn't be with him. I don't know what happened between the two of you and I don't know why he's not with you but I can't change that. He cares far more for you and I can't say I like playing second fiddle but I will take whatever I can get. You know he was my first so don't act like I am some kind of doxy floating from bed to bed." Lyssa walked closer to her and spoke again, "Cairma I am sorry you saw that this morning, I am usually more careful than I was this morning but something happened that shook me up."

“Alright! Inside with you two!” Despite the noise the heavy rain was making on the roof of the building they had been sparring next to, Rosheen’s voice was heard easily enough. Probably because she was shouting to be heard, as well as the fact that the two trainees expected such a command from her. The ground had gotten slippery, and Rosheen wouldn’t risk getting one of her trainees cut in half because someone fell. That was the problem with actual weapons practise. Until the trainees were good enough, there was always the risk of them running themselves through with their own swords. The trainees rushed inside at her shout, apparently ignoring the one that followed, about cleaning their weaponry or else. “Kids.” Rosheen uttered with a sigh.

She sauntered back inside, not really caring about how the rain soaked through her clothes already. Wet was wet, and if she ran now she’s just risk falling and getting muddy on top of wet. And she’d never hear the end of that. Her company was a fine one, with many friendships and many comforts. The fact that they apparently told each other everything wasn’t one of them. Rosheen might not be an Aes Sedai, but she thought that some things needed to be kept a secret. Like how long it had taken her to learn how to balance properly. Or how she had been the rainbow warrior princes when she was a child. Simple things, really, but things that had made her life a lot harder when they became public knowledge.

A muddy costume wouldn’t have to be added to her list of little shames though. She made it to the barracks in one piece, and just soaked to the bone. A bath would do her good, but she needed clean clothes first. Up the stairs and down the hallway she went, to the room she and Lyv shared. A happy smile curved Rosheens lips at the thought of a hot bath. Such happy thoughts faded when she heard an angry conversation coming from one of the other rooms. Lyssa’s, if she remembered correctly.

“…walking out of Aran’s quarters!” Rosheen groaned when she noted the subject of the argument. “"How could you even say that Cairma, I love him” With a pained expression on her face, Rosheen rubbed her brow. “Aran, Aran. Aran? Aran! Aaaaraaaaan.” She whispered, giving her own impression of that particular argument. “I wish the man would bloody well settle down.” She realised that this fight would need to be broken up soon enough. Slowly she made her way to the door, hoping that the fight would clear up on it’s own. These kinds of fights rarely did though.

"Cairma I am sorry you saw that this morning, I am usually more careful than I was this morning but something happened that shook me up."

That was probably the most stupidest thing that Lyssa could say to Cairma. 'i'm sorry you had to see' ...'usually i'm more careful'..."but something..".... Stupid stupid excuses that just put the woman further and further into her grave. And for once Cairma was so mad that she was stunned into place. Lashing out just didn't seem like the right option because the girl wasn't attacking her. She wasn't verbally attacking her either so giving the girl a peice of her mind didn't seem like the thing to do. Clenching and unclenching her fists, she looked to Lyssa wishign the girl could just brun on the spot, and oaths or no oaths, the child was the work of the dark one and the one power would have made her burn where she was.

Gritting her teeth, she took a single step towards Lyssa, "Could you possibly be more stupid? Love Aran? Are you more than 6 sides of the Dark One? Barely a sapling away from your mother, she raised a Fool in you... " She took anouther step towards her.

And that was Rosheen’s que. Not waiting another moment she threw the door to the room open, and stepped inside. Once glance told her that Cairma was advancing on Lyssa, and that was all she needed. Focussing on the aggressor in this fight, she charged at Cairma. One of Cairma’s hands was balled into a fist and raised slightly. She took a hold her wrist, and with her other hand she gave Cairma a firm shove. As expected the entire move was too sudden for Cairma to respond well to it. She stumbled backwards, leaving Rosheen in the centre of the room by herself. A kick against the door closed it behind her, locking the three women inside effectively.

Stumbling back, Cairma couldn't even take the time to catch herself as her back end landed solidly on her own 'soon to be' bed. Stunned she looked up at Rosheen and refused to let herself feel embaressed. But of course if anyone knew of her own foolishness, it would be Rosheen.

"Bloody Ashes, can't this day get any worse?!" She scowled, refusing to look at either of them.

“Silence!” Rosheen barked when she heard Cairma mutter and saw that both women seemed to be ready to say even more. “I think silence is appropriate right now, seeing that I could hear you two shame yourselves out in the hallway.” Her voice was dangerously low now. She wouldn’t tolerate foolishness from everyone. She understood love, but she understood duty better. “If I hear a single angry word out of you two while I’m here I swear neither of you will be able to sit for a month.” Rosheen would find out why they argued over a man before she left that room, and she would also make sure that they would not do so again any time soon.

And they hadn’t been arguing over just any man. No, they were both involved with the most determined flirt the yards had ever seen. The man that was least likely to settle for either of them, or settle down any time soon. While Rosheen cared for Aran like a brother, she had often wished that he would just settle for one woman, instead of taking a new one in his bed with every turn of the week. Sometimes even halfway during the week.

“You are Tower Guards, not tavern wenches. It is one thing for you to allow men to treat you the way only a tavern wench would allow, but it is another for you two to do so publicly, and argue about it publicly. You embarrass me, and every other woman who ever called herself a Tower Guard. Now speak, what is the meaning of this. Why would you two chose to degrade yourselves over a man? Are you not Tower Guards? Are you not in or on your way to an elite class of warriors? Would you give all that up, for the slimmest of chances that this man will look at you twice and see something more than just a friend or a bed partner for the occasion?”

Lyssa eyed Cairma, obviously her words hadn’t gone over well, for even more rage flitted across her face and Lys could see her hands clenching and unclenching. There had to be some way she could handle this situation without causing a fight. She didn’t want to fight Cairma, she wanted to be her friend, and it wouldn’t do for two roommates to be fighting all the time. Lys also knew enough to know that the Warders expected you to work out such problems, duty to the Tower was always first and they would never approve a room transfer without a reason. Even one such as my roommate wants to kill me wouldn’t work. Gritting her teeth she was about to speak again when Cairma retorted, "Could you possibly be more stupid? Love Aran? Are you more than 6 sides of the Dark One? Barely a sapling away from your mother, she raised a Fool in you...” She saw red, was seconds from jumping up and saying something when Cairma began to move toward her. How dare she question her feelings, for goodness sake the other woman was stupid as well for she cared for him and how dare she insult her. Just as she was about to say something, Rosheen burst into the room. The woman must have heard Cairma’s raised voice from outside of the room. The Warder moved to stop Cairma from attacking Lyssa was more than alittle glad to see it. Of course a part of her was angry enough to want to take the woman on, no matter her skill level, but she knew she would end up dead if she did.

As Cairma landed on the bed she spoke, "Bloody Ashes, can't this day get any worse?!" Lyssa eyed the other woman’s head, about to tell her what she thought of her actions when Rosheen commanded, “Silence!” She closed her mouth that had been open and waited for the other women to speak. She didn’t feel like she had caused this and it certainly hadn’t been her with her voice raised. “I think silence is appropriate right now, seeing that I could hear you two shame yourselves out in the hallway. If I hear a single angry word out of you two while I’m here I swear neither of you will be able to sit for a month. You are Tower Guards, not tavern wenches. Are you not Tower Guards? Are you not in or on your way to an elite class of warriors? Would you give all that up, for the slimmest of chances that this man will look at you twice and see something more than just a friend or a bed partner for the occasion?” Lyssa crossed her arms over her chest and regarded the wall, she hadn’t done anything wrong and she hadn’t attacked the woman and she wasn’t going to speak first. Let the other woman with anger management problems who just needed a good bout of sex, speak first.

Burn her.. she thought sourly while glaring at them both. She felt childishly stupid with Rosheen standing there. The older woman getting onvolved made this far more uncomfortable than it should have been. As angry as she was at Lyssa she did not wisht o have Rosheen invoved because of the nature of the arguement. Aran. It was not Rosheens fault that she was viewed as Aran's sister within the yard. At least that was the sort of relationship that the two of them shared. But that did not mean she had any right to step into an arguement that involved the scoundrel. Lyssa did not speak.

The debate now, was how much was she willing to reveal and how much did she wish to leave between Lyssa and herself. Rosheen couldn't know, and Lyssa was practically shouting it at her. Light burn me instead..

"If that were the case, Rosheen, than we have surely degraded ourselves to the worst by chasing after a single man." She eyes did not leave Lyssa, the underlying tone and conviction surprisingly coded with a dripping distain. "If it were for a man's bed we were fighting for than let us be shamed. But I, for one, Have not been in a mans bed, ever, nor plan to. But if someone were to, knowing a secret, go against it in place of fullfilling a selfish act, then I feel the need for there to be some justification for such an act." Cairma looked to Rosheen.

"This arguement does not concern you, Grandmaster," She inclined her head with full respect for Rosheen's station. "And this is not an arguement for the yard, but merely woman to women." After all, it's not what Lyssa did that bothered her but why she did it knowing how Cairma felt. It was that simple betrayal of her actions that made Cairma angry. And unless Lyssa was stupid enough to say too much more to Rosheen, light only knows the tongue lashing they would receive as even Rosheen may not understand the simplicity of the argument.
