Pevin the Redshirt

I'm on my 7th or so reread of the series and it seems I notice something new every time. I couldn't find where this has been mentioned before, but it occurred to be when rereading TFOH that maybe RJ slipped in a bit of a redshirt reference with Pevin. He even takes the time to point out that he's wearing a red shirt before his demise.

 

 

 

I guess there isn't really much to discuss on this, but I enjoy catching RJ's more subtle references and jokes such as this. Like how Elayne keeps getting the veil in her mouth in Tarabon because she walks with her nose up or RJ's cameo appearance as the story telling Ter'Angreal.
