Wow! What busy little bees we've been. =)

 

A few days ago, prompted by the discussion some of you had about the proper place of siggie requests here, I had a loooong talk with Art Guy Joe. We talked about a bunch of stuff and he decided that it was best for him to resign as Org Leader. He will definitely be missed.

 

I held off on announcing this, because I wanted to really think about how the Art Org needed to serve the needs of the community here and what kind of Org Leader would best suit that. While I was pondering, Matalina, the Writers Guild Org Leader, came to me with a proposal to merge the Orgs. This was honestly something that had not crossed my mind. But she came with a very well thought out plan that would preserve the uniqueness of both groups, while also allowing for new groupings.

 

She called it the Illuminators Org, bringing the light of creativity to Dragonmount.

 

Effectively immediately, the Artists Org and Writers Guild have now become part of the Illuminators Guild. They are now the Writers Chapterhouse and the Artists Chapterhouse. We are also adding the Crafters Chapterhouse, dedicated to costuming and "hands on projects" and the Digital Manipulation Chapterhouse, dedicated to web design, and image manipulation (including signatures and avatars).

 

Matalina is going to be recruiting leaders for each of these Chapterhouse over the next few weeks. She is going to need dedicated, dependable people that can get these groups up and running.

The Org is divided into four chapters at present. Whether you are a painter, a crafter, a writer, a sig maker, a baker, a photographer, a musician or any other type of creative person, there is a place for you in this Org!

Hello... have you visited the Illuminators yet?

 

In case you haven't and are wondering what's going on... let me tell you about just some of the projects and threads that you will find there.

 

On the main Illuminators board:

 

- the world building project, were we are creating a new fantasy world. Once we have a good basic design, anyone interested in writing is invited to write a story set in that world. The initial creation project will probably carry on and go into more detail.

 

- the web design contest that Ali mentioned above

 

- how to make a sig in word

 

- and for all those mum's to be and their friends... the crafter's Baby challenge.

In the Artist's Chapter House:

 

- their depict WoT project. Whether your medium is paint or the camera. The object is to depict things/people/vistas from real life that remind you of the WoT. Why not take your camera out this weekend and get snapping?

 

In the Smith's Chapter House:

 

- the GIMP beginners class

In the Crafter's Chapter House:

 

- the cookbook sign-up thread where we are looking for people to suggest recipes, volunteers for testing and help us put it all together in a cookbook.

 

In the Gleeman's Chapter House:

- one of several musical showcases

In the Scribe's Chapter House:

 

- a writing exercise, Suspense versus Suprise... which has already produced some great stories.

 

 

Those are just some examples... sign up for the Illuminators today and see just how much there is to be discovered. It is all about being creative...

 

And don't forget the fabulous Sig request board is part of the Illuminators, too.

Name a world!!

 

The ongoing world creation project on the Illuminators is looking for suggestions for the name of the planet they are creating.
