IC: Striding down the hall, Zeveria was feeling home sick. She had been in the tower for 5 years now and always wrote home. After 2 years in Andor as a serving maid, she had made her way to the tower. She knew there was some secret in her family but she did not know what it was. The only clue she had was the necklace her mother gave to her. Touching it through the cloth of her dress, she remembered her grandmother, it used to belong to her. The necklace was on a long silver chain, the pendant looked like an eye. The pupil of the eye was made to black smooth stone and around the outside of the black stone was a circle of purple Safire. The silver work around the outside of the gemstone was master work. It was fine and twisted around and ended in knots marking the corners of a square. It was the most precious thing to her. The memories of her grandmother flooded her mind as she walked. When she had gotten to the tower she had intended to ask about her necklace. She had come to study and learn so she could find out what the big secret was about her grandmother. When she had arrived she had no time to think, she was thrown into novice white and had hardly breathed since. It was really nice to go home (what she liked to call home) to her room. It was small but as cozy as she could get it. A few months ago her roommate had been raised to the accepted so now her room was empty except for her. She now knew how Gianna felt when she was assigned to live with her. Blessed privacy!! They became fast friends and the room did not seem that cramped after awhile. Now though, Zeveria was beginning to like the serenity the quiet brought to her room.

Looking forward to reading the latest letter from her family, though she knew there would be now word from her father, He had all but disowned her when he found out where she was. He had sent her a letter that told her never to return unless she abandoned what she was doing, and Zeveria had learned enough by then to know that she had to complete her training. She sent a letter to him and explained what was going on and that she loved him but she never heard from him again. It was always her mother and siblings. With tears forming in the corners of her eyes, her hand, tighened on the letter and crumpled it. she walked on not even noticing.

Coming to her door, she saw light coming out from under the door frame. Why was someone in her room?? Was it her mentor? She tried to sense if there was a woman who could channel in the room. No luck. What was going on?? Opening the door just a crack so she could see inside, what she saw was not a surprise but instead very disappointing. Watching the girl, she was pulling a white novice dress over her shift and looked at herself in the mirror. She was in the middle of adjusting her dress when Zeveria heard foot steps behind her……

OOC: ok guys, feel free to pick wich one you want to be. the girl in the room or the one coming up behind Zeveria. i hope this gives you enough to go on. :D

OOC: Ha Ha!! I figured it out!! Sorry I am a bit proud of myself!

IC:Elwyn’s eyes began to well with tears the moment the door closed behind her. She had come so far and been through so much, did the women really need to be so rude? She had not expected to be treated like royalty but she was of noble blood! Upon her arrival she had been informed quite firmly of her station her in the Tower. She was a child! At 19 years of age she had not been considered a child in some years by the women in Bandar Eban.

Surrounded by the cold stone walls and almost bare accommodations Elwyn had no longer been able to stop her flow of tears. For a time she sat on one of the narrow beds weeping, then she heard her mother’s voice. True as if she were in the room. “ A lady of breeding wept when tears were required, but she never wallowed in her own self pity.†Quickly she stripped down to her shift, careful not to let her silk dressed touch the floor. That silk dress and her great grandmother’s jewels were all she had left. She had been informed that jewelry was frowned upon among novices. With a regretful sigh she removed all but the jewel from her hair. It was a single emerald no larger than her thumb strung on a thin silver chain with tiny moonstones. No matter what they could not make her part with that. She wrapped the rest of her jewelry in with her dress and tucked it away carefully under the mattress of one of the beds. The room was not much to speak of but it seemed cozy enough. Three thin beds were all tucked in separate corners, with a small stand next to each and a well battered mirror hung above each. A fireplace stood on the far wall and in front of it a single table with three chairs. At the foot of each bed on the wall were pegs. Following suit with the other occupant of the room Elwyn took one of her dresses and laid it on the bed and hung her remaining on the pegs.

With one last regretful sigh and a glance at the silks tucked below her mattress, Elwyn began pulling the stark white dress over her head. A small shriek escaped her lips, another face stared back at hers in the mirror hung on the wall. Attempting a smile Elwyn stared to introduce herself but was interrupted by another young girls appearance.

OOC: argh! i'm very sorry that this is so short and late, i've been having a really bad day :? and i'm on a time limit to write this

Running through the novice quarters, Andreil tried to hold onto her things that she was carrying in a wicker basket. She had just been assigned to a new room, and had been pulled out of her classes to move her possessions to her dormitory. Reaching the room, she saw that the door was already open and that there was a girl standing in the doorway a split second before she crashed into her and the two tumbled into the room along with everything she had been carrying. As usual, her face went crimson with embarrassment as she picked herself up off of the other girl. ‘Sorry about that’ she said, helping her up ‘I shouldn’t have been running.’ Fortunately the novice was laughing about it as was the other novice, a new red haired one whom she didn’t recognize, who was already standing inside the room watching them.

The crimson fading as quickly as it had come, Andreil quickly spoke ‘I’m Andreil Shakishna; who are you?’ The two introduced themselves as Elwyn and Zeveria and Andreil suddenly became aware that all of her things were still lying scattered across the floor. Quickly she scurried to pick up her basket of clothes, hairbrush, and the carved wooden rose her dead father had given her on her thirteenth nameday. The extra bells that she braided into her hair were scattered across the room and Elwyn and Zeveria helped her gather those while she placed her clothes on pegs and the rose on her rickety washstand. Putting the bells on the stand too, she sat down on her bed, trying to think of something to say before an awkward silence fell. ‘Have you two been in the Tower long? Have you learned to Channel yet or thought about an Ajah? Where did you come from before now?’ She winced inwardly. Almost every time she opened her foolish mouth to ask a question, at least three more tumbled out as well. It had always driven her mother to her wit’s end because even if she answered them all, more would come after. Andreil hoped the Zeveria and Elwyn wouldn’t mind the odd habit as much; it would be awful to be assigned a roommate you hated and she did want to make friends at the Tower; she had been here for nearly a month, but with all of her classes and work, she had not been able to make any close friendships yet

IC: Watching the girl look at her self, Zeveria noticed that she seemed quite vain. playing with her hair and jewlery!! then it happened..it started with the shake of head. the movement was what drew attention to herself, then their eyes met. The girl shrieked in shock. Zeveria jumped at the sound and stumbled backwards..and hit something firm that made changed the direction of her movment forward. she then fell into the room the breath was knocked out of her by something heavy falling ontop of her. squirming she struggled to breath and rolled over. Zeveria could feel her anger boiling. what was going on!!!! looking up she saw a yet an other novice and sighed. Her quiet nights were no longer and by the lok of these two she was going to have to teach them a thing or two about the tower. the first being, not falling on people!!!

With the help of her accoster she stood up. with a cutting remark on her lips and what was surely thunderheads in her eyes, she looked at the two of them. Before she could speak though the one who landed on her spoke...

‘I’m Andreil Shakishna; who are you?’

Andreil nodded in turn as they both told her their names. it seems that the other girls name was Elwyn Zeveria was going to interupt but Andreil kept on speaking as she and Elwyn started to pick up.

‘Have you two been in the Tower long? Have you learned to Channel yet or thought about an Ajah? Where did you come from before now?’

in wonderment, Zeveria gave up and helped to pick up the things that were scattered around. The questions and red face on Andreil cooled Zeveria's temper. The girl made her smile and she hated to admit it but she giggled. maybe this would not be so bad after all. wondering what Rainie would think of these two made Zeveria giggle even more, she would have to introduce them.

After Elwyn answered her questions Zeveria took her turn.

"well i've been here for 5 years.." counting her fingers.."going on 6 soon i'd say. i've been drawn towards the brown or white and i'm from Amadacia!"

looking at there shocked faces Zeveria smiled again. the fact that she was from Amadaicia always surprised people.

Unsure of what else to do in this rather awkward situation Elwyn began retrieving all the things scattered about when the girls fell. As Andreil continued to blather on Elwyns nerves melted away.

“Have you two been in the Tower long? Have you learned to Channel yet or thought about an Ajah? Where did you come from before now?â€

Mustering all her breeding Elwyn introduced herself to the two girls. “ I for one have barely had time to catch my breath, as for time I have been here for about 3 hours, in truth its all a bit overwhelming….. I was born and raised 19 years in Bandar Eban, but spent the last few months traveling with Tinkers†Elwyn was unsure how her story sounded, she had left out why she fled her home. The death of her whole family was still to fresh in her mind, even as she thought about it tears filled her eyes. She turned away and gathered more items from the floor. Soon enough the girl whom had been spying on her, introduced herself.

"well i've been here for 5 years.." counting her fingers.."going on 6 soon i'd say. i've been drawn towards the brown or white and i'm from Amadacia!"

Elwyn’s eyes popped at the mention of Amadacia, and more so at the girls time in the tower. Six years and she was still in white?! Elwyn feared her days were only going to get longer, and already this one seemed an eternity.

“Are the rooms always so crowded? Surely a place such as this has room for us all..†Elwyn watched her roommates carefully and it seemed she may have offended. “ Not that I mind roommates of course.. I will be glad for company, it seems like so long since I had anyone I could really talk to†With a sigh she flopped on her bed.

OOC: no; I could have sworn that I'd posted this the day before yesterday, but I guess I didn't

Elwyn seemed astonished when Zeveria mentioned that she was from Amadicia however, and Andreil’s eyebrows shot up. While she was used to hearing about other novices coming anywhere from Mayene to the Borderlands to even the Sea Folk, an Amadician novice had to be even rarer than the latter. She had thought that it had been bad making the journey to the Tower from the distant Borderlands, but Zeveria had made one from nearly as far, and from a place where she would be killed should anyone find out where she was going.

When Elwyn next spoke, however, it was on a different topic. ‘Are the rooms always this crowded? Surely a place such as this has room for us all… Not that I mind roommates of course… it seems like so long since I’ve had anyone I could really talk to.’ Elwyn sighed and fell onto the bed. Andreil felt a pang of sympathy; she tended to chatter a lot to anyone who had ears, but she had never really had a close friend except for her older brother who was gone. Her mind returned to Elwyn’s question and she quickly answered ‘Usually there are just two people to a room, but when there are three, they give us slightly bigger rooms; why they have to make them so crammed is beyond me though. Something about learning discipline, patience, endurance and all that.’ She thought about mentioning how long she’d been in the Tower and where she was from, but decided against it; she had already babbled enough earlier asking so many questions, and she was going to have to keep a closer watch on her tongue from now on if she didn’t want the others to think her a complete fool.

Turning to Zeveria, she asked curiously ‘So you’re thinking about the Brown or White Ajahs? How soon do you think you’ll be raised to Accepted and can declare an Ajah?’ Andreil hadn’t made much of a decision about the Ajahs, although both Yellow and Red sounded very interesting, but Brown had never been high on her list, and although she had thought about the Whites, they always seemed to be so… emotionless that she was sure she would go mad if she joined them. She thought that she would probably be one of the few Accepted who did not choose to aspire to an Ajah because she honestly admired all of them.

OOC: Okay I think what threw me off was it said you posted and then I saw no post from you. Crazy! Sorry for the delay.

IC:Elwyn sat perched on her bed slowly chewing her lower lip, it was a habit her mom had thought her broken off. The conversation washed over her as she tried to hold her tears back.

She only had the vaguest idea as to what the Tower was about. There had been a number of Aes Sedai who had passed through their estates over the years but Elwyn had always been kept clear of them. Already her roommates were speaking of Ajah’s and Elwyn did not think she could name what even three of them did. She hoped she knew them all. Quietly ticking them off on her fingers Elwyn counted the Ajah’s she knew. 6? No 7? With a sigh she laid her head against the cold wall and allowed the tears fall silently down her cheeks. Perhaps if she was quiet they would not notice.

IC:The situation was so funny she started to laugh. getting sat upon, questions coming like rapid arrow fire and now talking about what Ajah she wanted to join. she walked over to her dresser, She coulds see that the nervousness and tension in the room was not good. Elwyn had floped on her bed, Zeveria could tell she was crying. Taking the minute she had her back to the others to collect herself, she breathed deeply. she was uncomfortable with new people. This was going to be a hard adjustment for her. she struggled inwardly with anger developing from insecurity and the need to be accepted by these girls. She always had a hard time feeling as if she fit in. sure she had friends but she still struggled with that feeling of inadequacy. She felt so lost at times. Her family so far away and her father not acknowledging her existence now that she chose to train in the tower. A tear came to her eye. As she bent over to wiggle the boards in the bottom of her dresser she wiped away her tears. Pulling up the boards, she looked in, she had some chocolate and a bottle wine. Ranine had pinched it and asked her to hide it, Since she never came back for it Zeveria figured she would use it. These should make this more comfortable. Standing straight and schooling her features she turned around with the bottle and the box of wrapped delicacies.

“I have a surprise for you two. Elwyn how about you get the cups from the shelf over there.” Zeveria pointed to the small area next to the fireplace mantel. “and Andreil can you please move the one of the chairs to center of the room so we can use it as a table.”

Once her companions had finished setting up she sat down on the floor and motioned for them to join her. Opening the bottle and pouring out three cups she handed each one. Slipping the bottle under her bed she turned to them again.

“we all have so many questions of each other. How about we each take a turn. I’ll go first.” sitting against her bed she made her self comfortable. “I have been here about 5-6 years. Me parents some from Andor but moved the family to Amadacia when I was still very young, barely able to walk. When I was 14 I left home and worked as a serving maid in common rooms and traveled eventually to Tar Valon. My goal was to get here and come to the tower to study but I never dreamed I could channel. My mentor actually found me the night before I was going to come to the tower. I can channel now pretty well, I still have much to learn,”

Opening herself to the source, Zeveria channeled to smallest amount she could. She made a small flame dance along the fingers of her right hand. With a smile she said.. “I hope to be raised soon, but we will see what is to come.”

Taking a drink of her wine she looked over her cup and studied her roomies. They looked at her, with faces that said they did not know what to think. Neither had taken a sip of there wine. She hoped she had said enough so they would not ask to many questions about her past.

OOC: OK so i was looking my last posts and found horrible spelling. *sighs* so i hope i did a good spell check this time!! *huggles her roomies*

OOC: Ok, i am soooo sorry that i didn't respond and that this is so short, but I've had a really really busy Christmas and I decided to tell my parents about being on here instead of sneaking around all the time, so hopefully this will be the last time that it takes forever for me to write back and the last time I'm rusty and so my writing's not the best

IC: Zeveria sat down and uncorked the wine bottle, passing out chocolates to all of them and telling about herself and where she had come from. Andreil listened, at first only taking a tentative nibble from the chocolate as she had never had one before, but after the first bite, all of her doubts were gone. Taking a huge bite of the stuff, she wondered what saidar was compared to this bliss. Zeveria’s story was nearly as interesting as the wonderful sweets and the other novice soon had finished and was looking around at the two expectantly waiting for them to tell about themselves.

Taking a swallow of the wine, Andreil began to talk, for once not telling more than was necessary. ‘I grew up on an Arafellin farm for awhile until… well something really lifechanging happened and… my younger brother, Osrec and I went to the capital after that. Once we got their, things got so bad that I had to convince an Aes Sedai to do me a favor. Of course, the old stories about Aes Sedai turned out to be right, and she had her price for doing that, which ended up with me coming here to learn.’ She too embraced saidar and Channeled slightly, holding her cup up with a small Air weave for a few seconds before it wobbled and she was forced to quickly catch it before she splashed the stuff all over herself. Swiftly continuing so that Zeveria couldn’t comment, she went on ‘I’ve only been at the Tower for a little while and Jaydena Sedai says that I’m so weak in the One Power that I’ll probably take longer than most novices to be raised, but I don’t mind as long as I become Aes Sedai in the end, preferably in the Green Ajah (they’re the fighters Elwyn) or the Red (they stop men who can Channel from going mad.)’
