Breathing in deeply as she put her arms up in the arm, JLM let out a slow steady breath as she bent forward; closing her eyes she allowed her body to relax as she breathed in through her nose and out through her mouth.

And up.” The instructor sounded off as JLM took a breath in and breathed out as she straightened once more, her arms at her side. ‘Upward Salute’ was her favorite Yoga pose, it seemed to relax every inch of her body and had a calming meditative quality to it. Breathing in as she raised her arms once more, JLM let out a breath as she repeated the exercise a few more times.

“Okay girls that was great! We’ll meet here again next Tuesday at the same time.” The instructor called out as she dismissed the class. JLM rolled up her matt and headed to the locker room with the rest of her classmates. She felt refreshed and relaxed after class, though it was a vigorous work out that had her feeling a bit sweaty; JLM changed into a pair of sweat pants and her boyfriend’s old college shirt. “Is it always this exhausting after these classes?” asked a redhead standing near her.

JLM looked up from stuffing her yoga clothes into the gym bag. “Hmm, oh yeah for the first week it is, but you get used to it once your muscles develop the strength to hold the poses. How long have you been doing Yoga, I don’t think I’ve seen you in class before now.”

The redhead smiled, “I just started actually. That’s good to know; my names Marcy.” JLM smiled and slung the duffle bag over her shoulder. “Mines JLM, well I’ll be seeing you next week.” Marcy waved bye as JLM walked out of the locker room and made her way out of the gym. In the parking lot, she couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched but every time she looked over her shoulder there was no one there.

She climb into her car and drove off towards her home; she lived a little ways out of the city back on some of the back roads; halfway home a large truck came barreling up on her rear end, flashing its lights and driving so close she couldn’t make out the grill in her rear view mirror. Yet the road she was on was a snakey two lane road that was dangerous to drive on at high speeds. She jerked hard in her car as the SUV behind her slammed into her back end, JLM gripped the wheel tightly as she slammed on her brakes but the SUV kept pushing; terror raced through her as she was unsure of what to do, instinct told her to pull off the road, yet there was a sheer drop on either side. The driver behind her gave her little time to decide what to do, a second later the SUV pulled back and rammed into JLM’s car again; forcing JLM to fishtail across the other lane and into the ditch.

JLM continued to grip the wheel as if it was her only lifeline and let out a gut wrenching scream as her car went nose first into the ground then continued to roll down the incline, coming to an abrupt stop as the undercarriage slammed into a tree. The air bags deployed, smacking JLM in the face full force and knocking her unconscious as two people stepped out of the SUV and approached the wreckage that remained of her car.

It was pouring rain by the time Mawthex headed home; the only blessing about this weather was that not many cars were on the road. As he came to his exit he spotted a car on the side of the road, its hazards flashing and a redhead soaked to the bone trying to flag him down. Feeling bad for her, Mawthex pulled over and hoped out, opening his umbrella as he approached the woman.

“Thank you so much for pulling over! My tire blew out and my cell phone is dead so theres no way I could call for any help and I have no clue how to change a tire.” Mawthex eyed the woman up and down a bit, taking in her appearance. He guessed she was a business woman by the way she was dressed, in a business skirt suit with high heels, though she looked more like a drowned child with how the rain had drenched her. He smiled gently at her and chuckled a bit.

It’s no problem Miss, with a rain storm like this I couldn’t just leave you; likely there wont be many people on the road out in this to stop and help,” Mawthex handed her his umbrella as he rolled up his sleeves, a relieved look on her face. “Tell you what, why don’t you hold the umbrella for me and I’ll get that spare tire on your car; sound like a deal?” The redhead smiled and nodded, “The names Marcy by the way; I can’t thank you enough for stopping and helping too.” Marcy said as they headed to the trunk and Mawthex pulled out the tire changing kit and spare tire. “It’s no problem Marcy, my names Mawthex. Now do me a favor and hold this.”

Mawthex handed Marcy the tire iron as he put the jack in place. While he bent down to jack up the car Marcy pulled the tire iron back a full arms length and swung it hard into the back of his head, a dull crunch sounded out as Mawthex crumpled to the ground in a heap.

Verbal grinned like a cat who ate the gold fish as he stepped away from the table, clutching the six blue ray DVD’s tightly to his furry chest. it had taken hours standing in line at this years convention to get George Lucas’s signature on his special edition Star Wars Collection but it was well worth it, his only regret was not being able to get a picture with the man.

Walking on cloud nine from having met Lucas, Verbal barely noticed how uncomfortable the Ewok costume he was wearing had grown; the fur making the already slightly hot area even more so, and beginning to make him itch; his legs were also cramping from the long stand in line and his stomach clawed at his insides with hunger. Even so, it was worth it and he’d do it all again; yet he had to get back to his room; not only to stash away his precious collection of DVDs, but to also ensure his costume was in tip top shape. This year he planned on taking first in the costume contest, and after seeing some of the other costumes floating around this place he had high hopes of at least placing 5th.

He walked over tot he elevator and pressed the up button, laughing as two people hurried by mock light-saber fighting with a group of their friends egging them on; both, he noticed, were dressed like Luke Skywalker. A Darth Vader walked in the opposite direction, chatting to a very pretty girl dressed like Laya and a child done up like Yoda; their costumes were shabby, looking more like the dime store halloween costume variety. The elevator pinged open and he stepped in, a fully dressed Chewbacca and a Storm Trooper entering directly after him.

“Nice costume.” he commented to the person dressed like Chewy, who responded with the typical Chewbacca sound for an answer. Verbal suppressed a laugh, he may be into Star Wars, enough so to dress up as his favorite Star Wars character, but some of these people took it a bit too far. Half way up the Storm Trooper hit the emergency stop button, before Verbal could say anything the Trooper used the butt of his gun to hit Verbal in the side of the head; a dull thudding sound echoed off the elevator walls as the gun connected and the DVDs scattered on the floor as Verbal raised his arms to fend off any more blows.

Chewbacca lunged for him, a needle in hand; Verbal did his best to fend off the attackers but after much fur pulling and kicking and yelling the needle found its mark in Verbals neck. As the drug took effect, Verbal lay panting on the floor, trying to fight the darkness closing in on his vision; yet this fight was a battle already lost.

Dry ice wafted through the warehouse packed with people, the music was base heavy and the strobe lights flickered and moved along with the beat. Leelou loved the night life of the club scene, the body's of strangers moving as one to a single beat. The current song faded off to be replaced with “Clubbed to Death”, a song most would recognize from the 1990’s movie ‘The Matrix’. Leelou bobbed her head and yelled over the the noise to her friends, “I love this song!” her friends smiled back and continued to move to the beat; the light show the DJ put to this song was amazing, especially once the piano parts started up.

Leelou pushed her way to where her friends were standing and leaned in close to them. “It’s hot in here, I’m gonna snag a drink and step outside for some air.” Her friends looked at her with a bit of concerned, “You want some company?” Jessie asked, taking a step towards her. Leelou shook her head, “Nah don’t miss out cause of me; I’ll be fine. Besides there’s bouncers everywhere, it’s not like anything will happen.” She gave him a reassuring smile but he still didn’t look convinced, “Really it’s fine; I’m a big girl., Jessie Don’t worry I do have the mace my dad gave me last semester.”

Jessie nodded reluctantly and she walked off towards the bar shelling out $4.00’s for a bottle of water and stepping outside the entrance. The bouncer scanned her wrist and she showed him that the stamp was still there and he nodded, then returned to watching the line. Stepping a little away from the building, Leelou walked around the corner and leaned on a light pole; breathing in the fresh night air deeply and listening to the pulsing sounds of the bass beat its way through the bricks.

She closed her eyes and pressed the cold water bottle to her forehead, enjoying the cold condensation dripping on her face and running down her neck. Suddenly a strong hand grabbed her from behind and clamped hard over her mouth while a strong arm snaked around her body and yanked her backwards. She drew in a deep breath to scream but a sweet-sour smell engulfed her and choked off the scream. She panicked as she recognized the smell of chloroform. Leelou instinctively held her breath, and struggled against her attacker as he dragged her deeper down the shadowed alley. The arm around her chest squeezed tighter forcing her to exhale and inhale; as she did her vison grew fuzzy and the darkness of unconciousness consumed her.
