were there teachers from all over the state down there? i heard there were s0me 200,00 poeple protesting but i don't know anything about what happen.

I believe so. It was ridiculous, certainly, with thousands of teachers calling in sick, however, I'm disinclined to complain since I got a 4 day weekend out of it.
