It is in my book.

I used to live on the West Coast.

Now I'm stuck in the Midwest.

My book has far fewer rules than most people's... so long as no one gets hurt and everyone had fun, it's all good.

Oooh... no man's land.... the space between civilization.

Such a horrible fate! Though... I have been informed that corn makes whiskey, and whiskey makes my baby feel a lil' frisky... which, I concede is an excellent thing.

(I just quote country lyrics... it's 3:20am, do you know where my brain is?)

Hee... lovely cheezburgers. And yeah... if you like your dudes to be women, they're OK. I guess.

So I've been necroing old Fiddles threads that were deep in the depths of 'my content'.

I have to say this thread is winning in awesomeness so far though.

That's probably best judged after a couple hours of sleep.

(Though, this one will likely still win... I'm here after all.)

Honestly, it's quite a burden... I *must* be right... so when I get things mistaken, then reality goes and changes to suit what I said. It's quite disconcerting.

The other day I said that the Quebecois were an irate people... you wouldn't believe the emails and complaints I received about that pronouncement. (Though, I think their response more supported my statement than their position.)

Well to be honest, I have absolutely no clue how to pronounce that word, so you aren't alone there.

*snort* Bad pun.

Are we at that stage of the night, where the puns come out to play?

Lol if you read the first post, you'll see we reached that stage long ago.

Terrible puns are my specialty.

Cher, I don't read things... I just speak and expect other people to understand my desires enough to make them happen. </Louisianna Southern Belle>

(It's late enough that the accents are coming out too... run and hide!)

Lol! Accents! Another great way to pass time. Over the years I've created so many hybrids, and some actual good ones.

I can't do Irish though. Never could. I don't know why.

I blame it on growing up in a bilingual home, but I've never had a steady accent all my own.

My dad's family is all from Louisiana, Texas, and the Carolinas... Mom's family is from Kentucky and Mexico... and both of my parents were raised on the West Coast.... I grew up here in Washington, hearing that mishmash of accents, and just never developed my own.

When I'm speaking with someone, unless I concentrate, I slip into their accent... the longer I stay in a different town/region/country, the more I absorb their accent.

A few weeks ago, I had a layover in Minnesota, and by the time I flew home I had those irritating long Os stuck. It took a week for me to get rid of them.

But yes, Irish is hard unless I actually have an irishman there to practice with.

I have to say that actually sounds kinda cool.

Just the ability to slip into all those accents.

I think you would make a great secret agent.

I mean you would be able to infiltrate any society.

That's what I keep telling the government! But do they listen? Nooooo!

On a more serious note, I've managed to pass myself off as a local in four different countries (not counting Canada, which is too easy). The main problem I have is with languages. It takes me a bit of time to adjust to a new language. I grew up speaking English and Spanish, so those are fairly easy... French and Italian take a bit of thought, and Portugese... but I still need to learn the Germanic languages. I did pick up some Afrikaans, but only enough to order a meal and watch the soaps.

I've no idea where to start with the Asian languages!
