What was the point of that prophecy?? And doesnt that make everything they do from now on pointless as it all leads to imprisomnet by the Seanchan?

As stated in the book, prophecies show where the pattern will go, but if the DO distroys the pattern, the prophecies are meaningless, since the wheel doesn't weave the DO into the pattern.
