just doing a re-read and i read something im not sure i follow. what was Semirhage talking about when she was faced with 'binding' or being severed back in the Age of Legends? i get that she wasn't a good person, and binding would curtail her experiments in Healing, but she made it seem like binding was something that was being used in the current timeline of Randland. thanks.

It is the same as the Oath Rod, which was in the AoL called a "binding rod" or "binder".

So basically, there were no three oaths, the Rod was used to "Bind" criminals, the same way as Pevera and co. use it to control people, to swear on the binding rod not to do .....

Aes sedai use a tool , that was meant for criminal, to show the world they are not  just a bunch of tyrant or criminal .
