Hello,

 

well I'm certainly not new to this wonderful, albeit, looong series. I started reading these books about nine years ago when I was 13 and found The Eye of the World in my brother's closet. I'm somewhat embarrassed to say the only reason I wanted to read it was because I thought the horses on the front cover were pretty but whatever the reason I originally picked it up it has been a part of my life ever since (that sounds so cheesy but it's true lol)

 

I eagerly read all the books to Winter's Heart and then waited for the tenth to come out in hard cover. I read that and eagerly waited for the eleventh, but sadly to say by that time I was starting to doubt the series would ever be finished. I bought the eleventh book, but didn't read it. I told myself when the series was finished I would read the eleventh and then the rest. When I heard Robert Jordan had passed away I was saddened and I really, truly doubted the series would ever be finished. That's when I painfully put it behind me, but a few months ago I heard the 12th book had actually come out and I decided I had to order it. Even though I hadn't read the eleventh I decided I was just going to read the twelfth anyways and piece things together ... well I got 3 pages in and realized the madness of this, and also realized that even reading the eleventh wouldn't do as I had forgotten too much, so I started all over knowing it would probably take more than a year.

 

I must say I don't regret it. I just finished the first book and am remembering all the reasons I fell in love with this series in the first place. I know not all of the books are as great as the first three, but I'm going to read all the way through regardless and hopefully the new author will do justice to the world Robert Jordan created.

 

I'm sure to be hanging around and asking questions as I make my way once again through The Wheel of Time ( :D ), and it'll be nice to have a place to discuss it, so I'll see you around.

This place is huge but hopefully you'll find whatever you're looking for with ease.  We have discussions on the books (with and without spoilers so watch for notices about that), discussions on the movie, on the video game...

 

We have organizations (called orgs) that are named after the groups in randland who group site members according to their real life interests to you can meet and hang out with fellow fans who have something in common with you.

 

And, of course, we have the Dragon Reborn Portal Stone World (DRPSW) in which you can create a character to interact in a world like that in Jordan's books.  Make an Aiel, Aes Sedai, White Cloak... whatever!  (Psst... I got cookies if you join the Blue Ajah *wink*)

 

Whatever you're looking for, DM probably has it in the way of fan stuff.  Don't forget to fan DM on facebook and follow on twitter ... I find the "Ask the Chosen" particularly funny.
