Yep, the movie.

Universal is apparently plotting a new “Battlestar Galactica” movie for cinemas – but not from Ron Moore, the “Star Trek” vet who masterminded the current acclaimed SciFi series.

Instead Universal is turning to TV vet Glen A. Larson, who created the 1978 original and its sequel, “Galactica 1980.”

The movie apparently will have nothing to do with the continuity of the current series, but will feature the characters of Adama and Baltar, according to James Hibberd’s Live Feed blog.

The SciFi series manifests evidence that a “Galactica” movie could be something truly wonderful if they hire the right guy or gal (COUGH*JaneEspenson*COUGH) to write it.

Larson’s many other small-screen credits include “Knight Rider,” “B.J. and the Bear,” “Sheriff Lobo,” “Buck Rogers,” “Quincy, M.E.,” “Manimal,” and “Automan.”
