Male/Female Channeler Unification--Split From White Tower Thread

Ok, this topic is about uniting the white tower, but what about uniting male and female channelers? Both male and female channelers are Aes Sedai if they swear at the rod.

Before the taint infected Saidin, Female and Male channelers worked as a comunity, will that happen again? Will the white tower be the right place? The white tower is a symbol of Aes Sedai fight against tainted Saidin, created after LTT did die. Infact, he did create the Tar Valon island with his death.

 

So the questions are:

1. Will the white tower accept male channelers, and let them be Aes Sedai?

2. Can the white tower still be the base for Aes Sedai, it is a symbol of Aes Sedai rejecting male channelers?

3. If the white tower accept male Aes Sedai (we know that there will be alot of Male channelers who never want to be warders and bond female channelers)will they have the right to the same roles as the other Aes Sedai? Like Amyrlin? If they are Aes Sedai, they should do imo, or maby a simular task and working with the Amyrlin.

4. Will the white tower get destroyed by Seanchan? maby the unite between Asha'man and Aes Sedai will save it?

 

The thing both Asha'man and Aes Sedai know by now is that they have to work together. They cant split up like they did, and they have to change ALOT before TG.

Taim have to die first, but after that they need to count in the Male channelers, in some way.

Are you sure about that? I don't think male channelers can use the Oath Rod. I believe Sammael says that the Oath Rod he gave to Sevanna can only bind women who can channel.

In time. The distrust and suspicion of male channelers won't go away over night.

Will men want to go there? At least in the short term, I think both sides would prefer their own organisations.

4. Will the white tower get destroyed by Seanchan?

Possibly, but I don't think it would be an easy thing to destroy - they'd have to be going out of their way to do it ("She had dreamed of the Seanchan, too, of women in dresses with lightning bolts woven on their breasts, collaring a long line of women who wore Great Serpent rings, forcing them to call lightning against the White Tower." Indicative of the Tower's destruction?). Tuon has not expressed a desire to destroy it. Invaded and damaged are both more likely.

Why? Male Aes Sedai disapeared long before the swearing of the oaths. In the time of male Aes Sedai awearin on such a rod was only done by criminals. Furthermore men could not even use that binder. Only women can.

Probably. Thats already being worked toward with the various bondings. But no, the White Tower will not be the place this happens--aside from that the White Tower so stands bound by female laws--and i mean that specifically, not sexistly. Tower Law requires femininty. But also that the Aes Sedai arn't the only female channelers in play any more. Not by a long shot. They arn't even the strongest.

Yes, it is not just a symbol for that, or even primarily a symbol for that. However if the Aes Sedai wish to survive i would suggest de-centralization. Open other facilities.

No. There are detailed threads out there about the Seanchan attack on the Tower, if you are interested.

i do not believe that they will ever be really united. the women will have their white tower and the men their black, however i do believe that now that the male half is cleasn the aes sedai will be greatly interested in bonding mend that can channel and what better source than a fully trained warrior; more dangerous than any warder but an ashaman. i think that the aes sedai will intergrate with any man who will accept a junior role as warder underneath any aes sedai but they will not give up their power base by allowing men to share in it. the men will likely do the same but with less enthusiasm as they have little or no need of guardians in all likelyhood they will swap ashaman for aes sedai almost like hostages so that they each will have agents in the others camp. ummm diplomats if you will
