Following Orders (Attn: Muirenn)

Daraniea walked through the hallways by herself. She tried her best to avoid Aes Sedai attention, since she had already been questioned about five times since she entered this hallway as to why she was here without a note in her hand. Truly, Daraniea had no idea that Aes Sedai were so nosey. Daraniea did her best to remember that this was not Cairhien, and that here, she was nothing but a "child". Turning a corner, Daraniea thought she was in the right place. Remembering her instructions,

 

"...your first lesson about the White Tower will be to find out from someone where the Ajah Quarters are, and which room is mine. I will see you tomorrow morning."

 

Daraniea had spent the better part of the morning trying to find somebody willing to help her. Most of the Novices were not so friendly, or they said that they weren't sure. So she thought to just save time and ask an Aes Sedai. Well they told her to be about her chores, or to ask one of her peers, and not to bother an Aes Sedai with such things. Daraniea had actually thought to just find out for herself, but she wasn't sure how late Muirenn Sedai would tolerate her being.

 

So she finally found an Accepted who seemed to have a kind face, and the girl pointed Daraniea in the right direction, with a warning, "Be sure to use to stick by her door, else you will be in for a nasty surprise."

 

After a few wrong turns, Daraniea had finally made it to the Aes Sedai's door. And sure enough, there was a willow branch next to her door. Taking a deep breath, she picked up the branch and knocked at the door. She could not suppress the smile that spread across her face, imagining how silly she looked to passersby, but regained her composure when she heard a muffled "Enter".

 

Squaring her shoulders and holding her head high, Daraniea entered Muirenn Sedai's chambers.
