Adanna made her way wearily through the Tower Grounds up to the huge stairs that lead up to the Tower itself. She hesiteated at the foot of the stairs and looked up at the bone white shaft that loomed before her. Finally she gathered the nerve she needed and mounted the first stair. After what seemed like an eternatiy she walked through the large doors of the Tower. Almost instantly a woman dressed all in white appeared infront of her almost as if by the Power and asked what she could do for her. "I'm hear because I want to be Aes Sedai" Adanna said with out much of a quiver in her voice. The woman in white gave her a critical look up and down then lead her away deeper into the tower...

Closing the door behind her Darienna sighed, at least her office was here to welcome her.  It was only ten steps from the door to her desk, another six to get around it and seat herself at the modest yet solid chair that she spent her days on now it seemed.  Part of her longed for the days when she had been an ambassador to Mayene, or simply enjoyed having free rein to act as she deemed fit.  But that time had ended the moment she had taken up teaching.

There was a lure to it, success at educating someone was something that Darienna had quickly become addicted to.  Not so much taking the larger classes, though those were easy enough for her.  Indeed, it was dealing with Novices and Accepted individually that she truly loved.  Seperated from their peers, they were easier to work on and the right approach could turn someone who was falling behind or simply burned out into a rightly dedicated individual.  Not that that worked for everyone, but it was always possible to motivate and inspire.

It was part of the reason she had finally ascended to her position in fact.  Not for her finest students outperforming expectations, but rather her ability to take those who were struggling and pull them back onto their feet and set them on the right course.  The measure of a teacher was not their finest, but their worst and in this respect Darienna had proven herself over a number of years.  When the time had come, she had inherited the office she was seated within now.

Reaching to a drawer, Darienna opened it up and withdrew a simple yet highly valued pipe.  Stuffing it with some tabac with a well practiced motion, it was soon smoking away and she was finally able to relax as she began to sort through papers, or tried to only to have someone knock at the door.  Frowning, Darienna looked up and called for whoever it was to enter.  There was always something that needed attending to.

Adanna calmed herself as the girl in white knocked on the door. It'll be fine just act as you do when mothers family comes to visit, respectfull and humble but by no means meek. A woman's voice came from with in beckoning them to enter, the woman in white followed Adanna into the room and was only a step behind in fallowing as Adanna dipped into a curtsy. "Aes Sedai. My Name is Adanna Ibelin, I am from Chachin in Kandor." She passed gauging the woman's reaction and then decided that it would be better if she just blurted it out."I came here to the Tower because I want to be Aes Sedai" She finished in a rush. Sha gathered her breath and waited for the woman's reply.

Regarding the girl, Adanna, Darienna wasn't precisely surprised by the request for testing.  One of the many functions she got to perform, though it was far from her favourite one.  So few had the gift, fewer still the strength to merit the need for the training that the White Tower offered.  It was never nice to have to crush someone's hopes and dreams by informing them that they didn't possess even an iota of ability when it came to finding the one poewr, but then it was the ones who tested true that made it worthwhile.

Still smoking her pipe, Darienna reached with her right hand to a drawer even as she gestured with her left to the chair before her.  "Take a seat."  Rummaging about as the girl seated herself, Darienna nodded to herself as she found what she was after.  Withdrawing a gem that sat easily in the palm of her hand, Darienna carelessly tossed it towards the girl.

Stopping midway through the air, the gem hung between them as it hovered a good foot off the table.  Tying off the weave of air to keep the ter'angreal suspended where it was, Darienna explained the exercise calmly to the girl.  "Lets find out whether you have the ability.  Its a simple test to determine whether you can channel or not.  If you can then you will be enrolled here as a Novice and you may one day become an Aes Sedai.  If not, then the wheel has woven another path for your thread."

"Fix your gaze upon the gem, clear your mind of any thoughts.  As far as you are concerned, in this world there is only the gem and it is the only thing worthy of notice.  If you can become an Aes Sedai, it shall reveal your ability to us both."

OOC:  Character has to clear her mind and just focus on the gem, after some minutes, though no longer than twenty, the gem should emit a brief pale flash of blue.

Adanna was amazed when the small gem began to float in mid-air but she recovered quickly as the Aes Sedai explaiend what she had to do. Adanna blinked in slight confusion. Just concentrate on it? There has to be more then that. But Adanna was not about to go around questioning Aes Sedai, especially when she wanted to be one. So with no small amount of doubt Adanna locked her eyes on the floating gem and concentrated, one minute, two minutes, five, and then finally when it seemed like she would be stareing at that light accursed gem for the rest of her Bloody life, the oddest thing happend. A small pale flash of blue light emitted from it. Did I just do that? Adanna wondered to herself...

"Well, that settles it."

Embracing the one power, Darienna slashed the air weave that was supporting the gem, catching the valuable ter'angreal in her hand as it fell.  Putting the gem back in the right drawer and closing it, Darienna stood from her seat as she continued.  "You have the ability to channel saidar and are therefore eligible to be enrolled here in the White Tower as one of our Novices.  Stand up for a moment, please."

Walking around the table as the girl stood, Darienna looked the girl over, circled her and looked her over again.  "Wait there."

Opening up one of the two side doors, it wasn't even a minute before Darienna re-emerged with a pair of Novice dresses and stockings slung over one arm and a pair of shoes in her other hand.  Giving them to the Adanna, Darienna reached over to a spare piece of paper and her quill.  Inking a neat letter recommending Adanna to the Aes Sedai she was about to send her to, Darienna explained what she was doing as she wrote.  "I'll add you to the Novice Roll in a moment, but for now I am going to send you to meet your mentor."

"Her name is Maegan Sedai, a sister of the Red Ajah and like all Aes Sedai, worthy of a great deal of respect.  As your mentor, she will be tasked with helping you settle into the Tower and assisting your education as necessary."  Finishing the letter, Darienna replaced the quill in the inkwell.  Crooking her finger as she walked towards the door, indicating to Adanna that she should follow, the pair of them didn't have far to walk before they encountered another Novice, Septima.

"Septima, would you escort this girl to Maegan Sedai's rooms within the Red Ajah Quarters?  If she isn't there, then I'd like you to conduct her to the room three doors to the right of yours and get her settled in before bringing her to my office."

Turning to Adanna, Darienna handed her the note she had written while she used her free hand to remove her pipe from her mouth for a moment.  "If Maegan Sedai is there, be sure to present this to her.  It will inform her that you are now her mentee and that she is now responsible for seeing that you are settled in.  Remember, if there are any problems at anytime that you may come and see me."

Patting the girl on the arm, Darienna turned and walked away even as she replaced her pipe in her mouth.  It felt good to have a new student in the Tower, it certainly added a bounce to her step.

OOC:  Well, you're tested and whatnot.  Just write Septima (she's an NPC, no writer for her) leading you to the door of Maegan Sedai, you knocking on the door and being called to enter.  Maegan Sedai, played by Andrea, will take it from there.
